Neither of those things are good, if they don't have a valid reason to hate you such as if you were abusive or violent, those are valid reasons to not want to be with someone, outside those exceptions, being ignored or hated can be toxic, it is one thing to not have time for someone, that cannot be helped and your time isn't owed to anyone just because they want you around, however that said, deliberately ostracizing or isolating someone for say, not liking an opinion or something like that can be destructive and leave individuals feeling anxious or depressed, or even jealous if another friend is getting more attention than they are.

Being inclusive is important.

I honestly rather have someone come up to me and bluntly tell me they don't like me. “Great then we don’t have to force ourselves anymore when we’re around each other.” I don’t like being ghosted because then it will have me thinking it’s my fault or worst about myself. To hear someone to hate me is more like a “you problem” not mine. So yes I would appreciate the hard truth rather kicking the brushes.

On an individual level? Ignored. Easier to live with, lets you build up hope in your mind that maybe one day you won’t be ignored. On a more macro level? Hated. You can make money off of being widely hated, you can be damn sure that’s what I’d be doing if everyone hated me.

Between the two, I'd rather be ignored. Obviously, neither options are ideal, but I could see myself crafting my life around being ignored.

The weight of trying to live being hated  is a heavy burden and while it would get easier as you grow more used to it, I feel like I probably wouldn't be as capable in handling it versus handling loneliness.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.
