Little quirks and things you do that don't make sense

I do this too. When I help 3rd shift stock, we're told to let maintenance deal with the cardboard, but I HAVE to take care of my own.

i get worse too. When I use the forklift, it has to be spotless. Even the odd candy wrapper sends me into a long rant about cleaning up after yourself. When we went "super" (our store converted from a regular Walmart to a supercenter this year) it got worse.

Oh, I know what that can be like. We were already a Super from before, but last year we went through a Remodel, followed by a re-remodel, due to the fact that many things came up wrong. Then soon to follow was the re-re-remodel. Let's just say thatthe store was an absolute mess from August 2010 until about 3 weeks ago. And now it's just a slightly bad mess ;)

Holy-I imagine someone running or leaping alongside the car too! Wow this is a strange thing isn't it XD

Another thing is that everything I do has to be symmetrical. Like if I touch something cold with my right hand, I also have to touch it with my left hand otherwise I will feel uncomfortable. If I step in water with my left foot, I'll have to step in it again with my right foot (I know it's pretty stupid lol but it will drive me inssane if I don't!) And it does that for pretty much everything.

Hah I just mentioned that in my own post, wow...yeah I do this as well!

I sit sideways on chairs. When I'm eating downstairs I leave my drink upstairs and when I'm thirsty I walk upstairs to get a drink and then go back downstairs without the drink. I have to be doing at least 2 things at once ie: reading and watching tv, I make tea and let it steep for the night and drink it the next morning.

When I enter the chat room here, I have to pelvic thrust as to assert my dominance over other users :/

But for reals, I never leave things hanging off an edge, like my desk or a table. I need to move it so it's flush with the edges. I also keep all my money in my wallet facing the same direction and from large denomination bills to small.

When listening to music with headphones, I MUST use the opposite side for each ear. (Left earphone goes on right ear, and right earphone goes n left ear) The pillowcase has to be almost half off the pillow so I can only put my right arm inside it as I sleep. Every night I must have a stack of something new in my room by the number 3 before I fall asleep. (3 books, 3 hats, 3 ponies, etc)

I don't like spinning around in a full 360, or else I have to go back around.

yeah I used to do that a lot, where if I turned one way I turned the other way equally. Usually looked like I was crazy and just spinning around.

I do that as well, also sometimes when I think of a quote.

Well... My hands MUST be doing something at all times. Pen-Spinning is good for that very purpose!

I have odd "reflexes" at times... When someone jumps out from behind me, or even "play-hits" me; I somehow manage to 'fight-back.' Luckily in most cases, I can stop myself before I do anything permanent. :P

I bite my cheeks alot... I have really flabby cheecks, but only on the inside. I sometimes accidentally bite them when chewing gum or something. But sometimes, during class or something, I'll find myself gnawing on them. They taste...good?

There's the whole "always must have some part of your body moving" thing... Which I realize I have. So everytime I catch myself tapping a finger, foot, or anything like that I freeze my entire body stiff.

Sometimes I "phase-out" of the world. Like, completely out. I don't know what it is, or what happens while I'm gone; but next thing I know someone is saying "Sam? You alright?" I think I'm hypnotizing myself... :P

I go to a school with very crowded hallways. So when I don't have a backpack, I go ninja-mode! I'm all WHOOSH! and ZOOM! and doing stuff I'd never be able to do. It's like putting myself on "auto-pilot" and winning a flight-show.

I imagine scenarios. All the time. Even when it's been avoided (I.E: taking a different road than expected; or having the kid involved sit on the otherside of the room.) I constantly imagine what I would have done, even when I won't get the chance to. Most of them include things like "lock-downs" or "the princess has been kidnapped!"

Sometimes I get a couple friends and we randomly go slow-motion.

I don't sleep in class. But I sometimes switch between consciousness and unconsciousness every four seconds or so. Then for the rest of the class, I'm in a half-awake state; where really, anything goes. It gives me a similar affect to being high/drunk/insane. Although I've trained myself not to speak unless spoken to, so I don't start proclaiming "I LOVE YOU" to everyone. Although I have been known to successfully take notes while asleep (it was pretty bad-flank.)

Hmmm... I don't think there's really anything else...yet. :D

But what do I know? I'm just a stupid kid.

Tag Team RiverMiles strikes again; Revive!

---

I have to watch things in chronological order.  I started at the pilot episodes of MLP.  I've gone through Seasons 1 through 3 about 7 times, (Season 4 minus one, because it wasn't out yet, and I'd already restarted back from the beginning when it came out - so, the first time through is the odd one out, all the rest were from S1 though S4) chronologically.  If I decide I want to watch EQG or RR, I have to wait until I get to the end of a season.  Normally I prefer it at the end - after finishing S4.  Then's when I'll watch EQG, then RR, then back to the beginning.  When Season 5 comes out, I miiight break my habit partially, meaning, I might watch S5 (still watching the episodes chronologically) multiple times through, then revert back to starting from S1, and going to the end (which will be S5 then).

---

I have to make sure I step on each step going down stairs.  If I accidentally skip the last step, I will turn back and touch it with my foot.

---

Normally I don't have too much of an issue with numbers... as far as things like volume goes, etc.  But, on the other hand, I tend to use certain percents over and over.  More for practical consistency for certain different situations.  On my computer, if I'm listening to music on YouTube, I will set the PC (Windows) volume to one of the following numbers: 13, 15, 18, 21, or 25.  If I'm using VLC to listen to my own music, I'll set the Windows volume to either 25, or 33.  As far as VLC's own volume, I don't have anything special about it.  Sometimes I want it louder, sometimes I want it softer, so I don't pay attention to the numbers so much, as I more or less treat it like YouTube's volume slider.

---

Writing Utensils...

Specifically, regular pencils.  I will only use Ticonderoga's.  For mechanical pencils, I don't care.

As far as pens go, it's usually my PaperMate Profile 1.4B, or my Pilot G-2 07.

---

And, I guess this isn't relevant to OCD, but it's quirky:

Just look at my member title.  I know a lot about motor oil.  I'm a gearhead.

- I have a couple old credit cards that I randomly rub together and clack against my desk like drumsticks often

- I used to have a deck of cards that I would obsessively shuffle at random. I always had it by my desk

- To the left of my desk chair, I have a box from when I moved in here in 2013. I've slowly been ripping pieces off it. It's nearly completely shredded at this point.

- I randomly close one eye and look with the other to compare my eye sight between each eye

- If I scroll the mouse wheel up a few times, I always pull the cursor to the side or above the page and slide down really fast (or vice versa). I have an urge to do that for some reason. (I move the cursor away so it won't move my page down)

- I feel the ridges of my teeth with my tongue and lips a lot

- There are certain videos/songs that I watch or listen to over and over

That, among plenty of other things, hehehe.  :derp:

- Right now, I get adult assistance in looking for new people around my age to meet instead of doing it on my own because having Asperger's Syndrome makes it hard for me to do it my own.

- For TV shows like South Park, The Simpsons, whatever is similar to them, I watch episodes that I think look interesting based on what the episode is about.

- For some hand foods, I break it apart into a bite-sized piece and eat it instead of biting into it.

- When I sneeze, depending on my mood, I try to improvise the sound of it so that it sounds funny to me.

- On FIFA, I sometimes do an unrealistic match. For example, I'll play as a club team while the computer would play as a national team. There are times when one player is literally two clones playing for each team.

All my life needed was a sense of someplace to go. I don't believe that one should devote his life to morbid self-attention. I believe that someone should become a person like other people.

Sometimes when I walk up the stairs in my home, I skip a step and place my foot on the step above the one I skipped.

When I'm on my way to school, I like to imagine random scenarios in my head.

I always feel the need to make my bed before I go to school.

I almost always skip steps, too. Only going up, though. Skipping when going down is hard and it's easier to fall that way.

I get the volume thing. If it ain't an even number, it ain't gonna fly with me.

Is your favorite number by any chance 8 because it is symmetrical?

Aaaaanyway, my little quirk is shaking my legs randomly when sitting. I tend to do it when I think or out of the blue. Sometimes it happens randomly but when I get aware of it, I just keep going.

Hm. I do have a lot of quirks, but I'm I can't think of them off the top of my head. Oh, here's one... it's not a counting thing though. I do hate when people touch my stuff. Even if I allow them to, it can't be fore more than five seconds before I have to ask for the item back from them. If it's a stuffed animal I favor, like my Jui Duckie (a baby duckling plush), then... I get panicky when someone touches him. I just hate when people touch my stuff though, and I don't know why.

I also hate when people, including my parents, come into my room or talk to me while I'm in my room. Even worse, I hate when people interrupt music time. Both of these things end up leading to short outbursts of yelling and screaming at well... usually it's just my parents. I just can't stand it. My mom is the biggest culprit of all because she always needs at least on person in the house to tell pointless shit to. It bothers me because I would prefer listening to my music peacefully in my room without her telling me what the damn cat just did five minutes ago.

Also, I am the same... my hands have to be doing something all the time. This is due to my ADHD. I'm always fumbling around with something or fidgeting. Sometimes, I even stim a lot by flapping my arms or wringing my wrists too. It's gotten somewhat better now that I'm exploring myself more and accepting myself better as well.

I also have to take my pills in a certain order. I do the same when I take them out of the bottle as well. It's just a huge quirk of mine that I can't shake. If I take them out of order, it causes me to become very anxious and panicky because I HAVE to take them in the order I prefer.

I often have to count things out in my head in a vain attempt to stave off overwhelming anxiety. I often try to avoid numbers like 3, 6, 9, 11, and any combinations of these numbers. Logically I know that there's nothing wrong with these numbers, but there's something wrong with my brain that causes me to feel an indescribable horror when I don't avoid these numbers.

OCD is one of many things that makes life a living hell.
