Your Villain Ideas

I want to see more of the criminal element in Equestria. Cabelleron and his goons are a fresh change of pace from all those evil, power-hungry sorcerer types trying to enslave/destroy the pony race, but I think the show needs more of that grounded villainy that can't be handled with magic alone. Like a pony mafia.

One such villain I'd like to see is a loan shark, with many powerful friends in high places. He could be the one who lent Trixie the money to buy the alicorn amulet (because I don't imagine the rock farm paying her enough to acquire anything THAT dangerous), and now that she's reformed and going on magic road tours, he'll have finally caught up to her with the expectation that she'll pay her debt in full. She obviously can't, so she has deal with her magic shows being sabotaged, among other kinds of harassment, before Starlight's forced to step in and help her fight back. And subsequently, the Mane Six. It won't be easy, because with the shark's political connections and knack for bribery, they'd have an uphill battle against corruption in Equestria's justice system. Applejack could suddenly risk losing her farm. Rainbow Dash could face losing her Wonderbolt career on allegations of "substance abuse" (we'll say it's a kind of magic potion to keep it kid-friendly). Twilight could end up in the middle of a treasonous scandal she knows nothing about, etc. This premise has so much promise for a two-part season premiere. And as the Mane Six finally resolve the situation, they'll have pushed the villain to such an extreme that he'll have no choice BUT to turn to dark magic in the finale, or rather, meet up with an old enemy of theirs, strike a bargain and let them loose on Equestria.

A villain that spreads darkness wherever he goes and turns living beings into creatures devoid of hope and happiness (misery-zombies, if you will), and plans to end all of the joy in Equestria.

I want to see a Pegasus or Earth Pony villain for a change, with one of other Mane 6 sans Twilight Sparkle primarily being instrumental in their defeat.
