So recently, I have been noticing that I am alot less interested about the show and the fandom in general.

I was even going to re-watch both the seasons during the summer but I only got to season 1 episode 15 and couldn't be bothered to watch any more.

Is the show really losing it's charm on me?

Am I just one of those people who only likes to watch things once?

Could it just be the off season that's making me lose interest?

It's not the show, it's you the one who get easily bored Posted Image

If you want to keep your faith in the Magic of Friendship, try to read/look/discuss/watch/hear more about the show, not just sitting idly, waiting for the season three

People change. It's something as common as breathing.

We eventually lose interest in something when we find interest in something else, or simply get bored of the old thing. Especially when we're younger, we are constantly moving on: changing channels and discovering new things to kill the time.

I, for one, lost interest in the show itself really quickly. But at the moment I'm still rather involved with the community. Who knows when the time will come and I finally decide to say goodbye?... :|

+EDIT+

But perhaps we're all feeling like this just because of the long waiting time between the seasons. :P

Oh, I supposed it's possible that you've lost interest in the show, based on what you've written, and if you have, that's perfectly fine. People are moving on to new interests or activities all the time! I guess the one thing I would say is, maybe wait until Season 3 begins before you definitely conclude that you have lost interest in the show, because as some pony else said on this thread, it could be that you're just getting bored between seasons, but who knows better than you? Hope that whatever you decide it turns out well!!! :D

For my own part, I tend to view episodes from any show only once or twice. I rarely rewatch entire seasons wholesale. The only media I rewatch frequently are movies.

Interests will tend to spike and subside based on any number of factors. I'll bet you, however, that once season three's debut is imminent, a lot of the inactive parts of this fandom will re-emerge.

Pretty much what all the people before me said. My theory is to wait until Season 3. I think that's when you see if the show really lost its charm or not. I know it's still who knows how much until then, but it's been so long that it's not a factor you should discard. Like Sakamoto said, you should try doing something like interacting with the fandom so as to not get yourself bored. If not, then consider yourself in a temporary, indecisive break until Season 3 starts, and try doing something else until then. If when Season 3 comes you're still not iterested enough, then maybe yes, the show might have lost its charm on you, which there's nothing wrong with. As for the second question, I think you should ask yourself if there was ever a show that after so long you didn't lose slightly interest in it, and if there WAS a lot of shows that you lost interest quickly. :)

You probably just need a break. There can be too much of anything. It's like you really love nuts and you buy five packets of peanuts because they were on special and you get through three packets and never want to think about nuts again.

But in a few weeks, they'll drag you back in again and you'll be as nutty as ever.

^^^^^^^What Hat998 said. If you do to much of anything or watch something too much you're gonna grow tired of it.I'll use me as an example here. You see I love Movies, all types of movies. But trust me if I watch Animated movies nonstop for a couple days. I am gonna get sick of the Genre in general. But, within a few weeks I am back to my normal self watching the same movies that I got tired of. Just Because you don't feel like watching 5 billion episodes of a particular show doesn't mean you are not a fan of it or it lost it's charm. It might just mean you need a little variety. Watch something else for a while and maybe your love for the show will come back. :)

Eh, I know how you feel. I watch the show all the time on TV, but I've been finding myself watching less and less as time goes on- as good as the show is, MLP really just needs a new season already.

I think you’ll really know once season three comes out. I don’t watch the show as often as before, but I’d watch a few episodes every night before bed. The only reason I haven’t been watching as much is because I’ve already seen all the episodes multiple times. I think you’ll know how interested you are once season three is out and we have brand new episodes to watch.

People all have different fuses on how long they can go before things become stale for them. Me, even during these long off seasons I'm as into the show as ever because of the infinite fanon that's created every day. I'm going to beat the dead horse when I say that once season three merges, you won't find the show's 'charm' so lost to you, anymore.

You're just bored and running on empty right now.

Meh, it typical for something like that to happen. When you first got into it, it was new, it was exciting, but not it's losing it edge only because you are starting to get too familiar with it. It happens with everything.

Like the posters before me said, when season 3 begins, new content will come. Whether or not it's enough for you is for you to decide.

I've never felt the need to re-watch episodes (unless doing so with someone else as quality time), I've also had that feeling of being less attached to the show as well. I think its just natural, the initial zealous nature of joining something like this dies off in some people, I still like the show, and talking with people who like it, but I'm just not as tied to it as I once was.

what's the old adage about loving something and letting go. Take it from the words of experience.

Sure it may be winding down but you will never forget.

Like waves on the water things have their highs and lows I'm sure that someday, today, tomorrow… November 10th  ... or whenever you will set down and enjoy this once more. and while it may never reach the same highs, I'm

sure it will still make you smile.

This certainly doesn't apply to everyone, but...

I started watching MLP because I was in a bad place and needed something to cheer me up. Now that things are better, I'm still interested in the show and fandom, but nowhere near the extent that I was. I doubt I'll end up watching the Season 3 episodes more than once or twice (unlike the 8 or 9 times for my favorite episodes so far), unless they're even more awesome than expected.
