If you won the lottery?

Lost Profile

Recommended Posts

It depends on how much money it is, the recent jackpot here was arround £150million, assuming I won that, I would give 20million to my perants, 10million to devide between uncles/aunts/grandparents, and 5 million to my younger brother.

15 million to charity, leaving 100million remaining. That 100 mill would be spent on housing, cars, bikes etc. I wouldn't do anything like donate the money to hasbro, but I would deffinately buy merch, I'm thinking that wearing a full suit with a brony shirt spwould look awesome :P

Winning that much money would mean I would never have to work, so I would set up my own organisation for getting homeless people off the streets, by giving them their own small apartment, getting them job interviews and supporting them and getting them to the point that they can afford to work and live properly.

You don't need to win the lottery to get a gaming computer, just do what I did, go to university (guess it's college for you Americans) and apply for a student loan to buy a computer with. I've spent £3000+(about $4000-5000) on mine, 2k of which was a student loan xD

Lol, i'm not that old yet.

And plus, I already got ~1,000$, and the rig i'm looking at is 1.5k. GETTING CLOSE. Its going to be fun building it though.

I'd donate some to charity, start a website, and save for college.

The rest I'm going to split up into save and spend. I'll try to limit my spending as best as I can, buying a car, a laptop, computer, some games from steam, and the rest will be saved for future use.

That's my plan.

First I'd buy me all of the musical instruments I could ever want - an oboe, a Baroque oboe, an English horn, a baritone saxophone, a professional bassoon, a contrabassoon. Lol. Yeah, really.

I'd then help my family out. At the very least I'd pay my parents and grandma back for everything they've done for me in recent years. The truth is this would be the most important for me. 'Paying' them for that would probably be a lot.

I'd probably then buy a house in Maine or somewhere awesome like that, and live in luxury. But also donate, because I don't believe my life will be long enough to make any kind of effect any other way... Take that how you will.

Well, saying I won 120 Million USD, I would spend 5 million to family, 200,000 for a good house, 15,000 for a top gaming computer, Buy a Lamborghini, A helicopter, and I would put 100 Million in to a few good mutual funds, and let the money count rise. I would also donate some of it to charity.

25,000 dollars on 3DS games. 25,000 dollars on Wii games 10,000 dollars in PC games. Probably 5,000 dollars in books. A 70,000 dollar vacation to Australia. 5000 dollars in new music equipment like amps and stuff. 3000 dollar gaming tv. 10,000 dollar gaming laptop (Alienware M11) 5000 dollars on little collectables because I'm into that kinda stuff. And that's all I can really think of right now. I may make a later post saying some more ideas about what I would buy with money.

I forgot 1 thing before. I am on this thread because of it 50,000,000,000,000,000,000 dollars worth of ponies... May seem like a waste to the haters.

Half would immidately be poured into the stock market. I'd pay off my family's debt, purchase a new vehicle and finally go back to college knowing that finances are nothing to be worried about. Some of the money would see its way to the American Cancer Society. Some open source projects would get some well needed cash. After getting some divend payouts I'd probably quit my current job as I would probably make more by not working. Granted tax season would (and is gonna) suck but eh, its only once a year.

I can neither confirm nor deny myself being the cause of electrical related malfunctions. Anyways, you wouldn't happen to have a jar of replacement magic smoke would you?

I've seen this topic before. And I still see the same responses from many.

I try to be more realistic to have a more permanent way of using my money.

My idea is, if I won enough money I would make a giant indie studio, with the express intend of making the games I wish to be made using the budget I have accrued. The more the better. Perhaps even invest in companies which make awesome games to continue that trend (Double Fine and Psychonauts come to mind).

The idea is to make a lasting company where I can enjoy my work. But right now I don't have an insane amount of money, so I can't do that. I would of course put some money aside for my own living expenses, but the most important part would be the ability to create something many more can enjoy.

I'd build a godlike gaming PC. That's all I really want at the moment... ^_^

I'd also donate to different people and stuff.

Then I'd save the money and buy a house and a car when I'm old enough.

I'd buy a small bungalow in the country and fill a whole room with all poneh stuff. And I would buy all kinds of classic cars. And I would have 1 purple twilight themed lowrider. (Cause I'm a badass like that) then I would donate a bunch of money to various charities.

I'd buy a nice house.. and then I'd buy a Ferrari. Then, I'd get a custom paint job design for it with Vinyl Scratch on it. I'd then invest (Most of) the rest of my money into the bank for a few years to let it gain interest.

Once I'm like 40 i'd have a lot of money.. so then I'd buy an M16 from a local arms dealer (After I apply for a permit) and buy a SPAS-12. You know what I'd use that for? Brony haters, and what else.. Justin Bieber.. uh.. I'd massacre One Direction.. I'd shoot my science teacher in the stomach and call her a fatass before her death. Then my life's dreams are complete, and I would continue my life being a millionaire.

Ah, that's the life..

This is O'reily on the factor and tonight we are going to talk about the terrorist group known as bronies who are planning a school shootout and the murder of several celebrities.

See, the problem with donating money to charity is that not many charities actually use donation money for their original intentions stated. They either divide the money up to their staff members which is a scam or they just blow the money off using some bullshit advertising or other unnecessary gimmicks (AHEM KONY 2012 AHEM)

If anything, I'd give a quarter of my winnings to my local community, maybe to my university in Syracuse, just because the city finds actual ways to make use of that money.

I'd then pay off my stupid tuition and then probably blow the rest of my money off with various anime and merchandise. When it comes to money, I am absolutely terrible and usually the American Consumerist within me tells me just to waste my cash on useless things.

I'd save some to put myself through college, get myself a decent car. Invest half of what was left and donate the last half. And of course I'd have to hook up my fellow Bronies and this forum, this forum could expect a nice sum of money.

Charity for one. Then take some money of which I have and give it away to my family and closests friends. Then, I'd save to travel around the world. Then a house, then a street car, a show-off car (a Porsche 911, comes to mind B) ), and then save for college, and other stuff. And finally, hire a guy who can handle my money. After that everything else would go in ponies, sweets, games...and not much else.

It's not about how I would spend the money on myself. It's how I would spend it to help other people.

Obviously, it depends a great deal on the amount I win, but let's just say I win a decent jackpot, say seventy-five million dollars. First important thing to do is ask for it as an annuity, not a lump sum, because that means less lost to taxation.

Anyway, once I have it I'd start spending it first to help some of my friends. I have a couple of transgender friends that could use operations, many of my friends could use help with paying for college, etc.

Once that's taken care of, I would probably start donating to various charities, probably set up some kind of scholarship or foundation to grant scholarships to people in need, as well as pushing my money towards helping people in other ways.

As for myself, I don't need much. Sure, I'd probably upgrade my computer to something beastly, and make sure I have a decent apartment, fresh food always, etc, but that's all doable on a salary of something like $40-50k a year. I don't need more than that for myself. Everyone else could use that money more than I could, especially those who are in particular need. What I have, I give freely, because I need it not.

I'm the type of boring person who would keep about 75% of it, and invest the rest. I'd probably just live out my life as usual, but with less worrying about income. Also I'd buy myself new graphics cards.

I wouldn't spend any money on any lottery, but if I won one million dollars after all the taxes and fees, I'll probably buy a kitchen gadget such as a food processor, and a vegetable garden, so I can have more healthy home cookin'

I will give most of the money towards trying to give infrastructure and clean water to promising locations in Africa. As in locations in Africa where if I gave a village a system of clean water or any physical equipment, such as computers to calculate how to farm and terrace and irrigate better, that warlords wouldn't steal the stuff or money so they can buy guns and drugs and treasure.

I really think that my fellow Americans shouldn't depend on other American strangers and some person's massive act of philanthropy to improve economically so much. From my experience, being poor and literally homeless in America specifically is the result of family members being able to do something about it but not.

I would also see at least one movie in the theaters every single month for a while.

Pay off all my college and car debit, pay of boyfriend's very minimal credit card debit, buy a house. Put 7000 back for my wedding in a few years.

Then I would take me, my boyfriend, and our good friend/roommate, who was stationed in Europe for 2 years, to Germany do all the history and art stuff, partake in the yummy food and then proceed to PARTY MY MOTHERFUCKING FACE OFF.

Come home, put money away for my sister's college, take my parents and sister on a nice family vacation, then boyfriend's family.

I would also donate a nice amount to the Heifer Project, a non profit orginization that actually has their head on their shoulders and does some actual good versus playing at it like most charities do. If you have never heard of them before you need to go look them up.

Stash the rest in retitrement funds where it grows on intrest for quite some time and kick my feet up, work whatever job I have and enjoy not having to worry about finances for the rest of my life.
