So how exactly do you convert a .wmv video into .mov/.mp4 file extension?

 

It would be nice to know because I've been trying to ask this on a support ticket yesterday but there was no response.

 

personally i use format factory for this kind of thing i actually used it for the same purpose and i do believe its free so its good

If you convert, then the quality will go down. Feel free to upload your file as is. We will see if we need to do any conversion on our end.

 

Feel free to open a trouble ticket if you have any additional questions. It's much easier for me to find questions to answer there than it is for me to find them digging through this thread.

Actually... You may be able to save time by compressing it into a zip file. Since it is raw video, it should actually compress really nicely.

 

That would certainly decrease the time that it takes to upload.

ok, ive recorded my video andim in the process of puting it on my computer, a few things

 

um how and where do i upload?

 

and should i send you the video i watched? to help better sync my reaction, it was a video with both episodes combined by ponyvill episodes,

 

i feel like my questions were ignored, can i have help please? i hinestly dont know how to do the whole upload thing, if you can even just link me info that would be great

That is strange, I have quite a few filetypes dialed in and supported.

 

What type of file is it? (And don't worry about converting.)

It won't accept the file type, which is currently in a .wmv format though, that's the problem I was trying to address to the techy people lol.

It's apperently MPG, its straight from my capture card/Webcam so yea im not quite sure as to what I am doing wrong dagnabit i thought i was so funny as well Lol

So, technical difficulties in video loading(as in they refused) and other things kept me from having a chance to record until just a few minutes ago. The only problem is, the only recording software I have is Windows Movie Maker. I have a fairly decent resolution off my webcam at least, but it's going to end up in .WMV format. (And there may be extra noise from my computer fans depending upon how well my mic decides to record.) Is this a problem?

 

EDIT: Nevermind. Things have now just completely stopped working and I don't know why. Technical glitches have prevented me from contributing a recording, I am afraid.

So, after 4 tries of uploading, it finally decided to work for some reason. Right now it's only at 24% so it should be done by at least 11PM.

 

EDIT: Uploaded my raw footage. It just takes you back to the main screen if it was successful, right?

Ok, I finally had the chance to film it earlier today. Though, my camera splits the footage into ten minute segments, so I'm using Sony Vegas right now to make one large video clip and to convert it to a smaller file. (It was originally 7GB). Hopefully I can get it uploaded within the next few hours.

well i have my video all recorded and such... only thing is my Capture card captures it in .mpg.. so now i have to wait to convert it ot .mov or .mp4 because its not being accepted dang it technology work with me! http://mlpforums.com/public/style_emoticons/default/dry.png

 

I added .mpg support for you. We'd rather accept your file as an .mpg than converted to anything else!

Is wearing of headphones fine or would you rather us not. I just have this question since my computers sound doesn't go that loud and it makes it easier for me to hear when I where headphones.

Quick thing. I just recorded mine, and I realized that it gets darker and darker and that near the end you can barely see me. Do you still want me to send it in, or should I just go ahead and not.

 

You're welcome to upload it. We'll watch it and decide if it's usable or not. Keep in mind, a small section of each video will be used in the final cut, so we can probably use something from the beginning of your recording.

Was it a straight-up cut of both episodes? If that's all it was, then there's no need to upload it. But if you think you have any material that will make editing more effective, feel free to include it.

.wmv has been added to our list of supported formats due to popular demand.

Please upload the original ten-minute segments. Do not perform any editing or conversion whatsoever. 7 GB is not a problem - we have a lot of space on my server (Scootacool increased the limit to 17 GB not too long ago).

No, see, the issue is, I got fed up trying to figure out the technical issues, so I've already seen the episode. If I filmed a video now, it wouldn't be a reaction video so much as it would be a "second look at the episode" and that's no fun at all.

It's too bad WMM files aren't allowed. They're much smaller. Don't know what'd that do to the quality, though.
