I think that before people start posting they should remember to love and tolerate everypony. I say if you want to post in this thread, make sure you dont disrespect someone's views and/or beliefs.

 

 

Now that has been said, i could either be classed as an agnostic or atheist, up untill the age of 13 i was a practicing christian, but as i learned more science and about how scientists think the earth was formed, i side with them. Although you do have to think to yourself, say science is right and there was a big bang, what created those first atoms that caused the big bang.

 

 

I don't think that Religion does discriminate, people discriminate and blame it on Religion, or they are misguided or interpretsomething wrongly.

yeah, I know a lot of people like that. People that believe that there i some sort of all-powerful force, or omnipotnent element that can govern all the world. My Mom believes in that, and so do many people I know. There should be a name for that. A belief in a vague stream of life. Like Lifeism or something. Lifeism. That sounds good, doesnt it?

I'm a Catholic, but not a strict one. I don't believe in most stuff said in the bible, I just believe in Jesus, and that Mary is a virgin, pretty much. The basic stuff. I believe that as long as you're a decent human being, you'll go to heaven.

Lol, me too. It sucks though. They ripped my locker right off the hinges. I would start up a club, but our school doesn't allow it...

 

Yet they allow some priest to come to our school, take us out of class, and lecture us. It was hilarious...

Him: Ok, everybody stand up. *we all stand*

Him: Okay, if you went to our bible class this morning, sit. *a few ppl sit*

H: If you went to church this week, sit. *more sit*

This goes on until he finally says, "if you've ever been to church, sit."

I'm still standing.

I'd be closest to Christian. It's not a 100% match though. I've seen and heard about to much to believe there's nothing out there.

 

I'd guess I'd be considered a more liberal Christian though since my moral beliefs are pretty much just "Don't rob, steal, rape, or pillage" and were good.

Lol, considering at the time my approach to any social situation was to submit, it was. From that experience though, I found out our science teacher was atheist (hilarious, right?). My absolute favorite teacher. We actually hung out outside of school...

I personally honor god in my own way. I don't believe that people should tell me how to honor the lord. I believe in god as the catalyst of everything, and that there is a heaven and hell. I believe if I'm a good person, the big man up there will accept me. You know why I believe in heaven? There's gotta be somewhere better than this shithole of a place.

Shoot, I'm actually a Christian and I've only been to church once. It's like my dad says, you don't need a church to worship.

 

Also, I was once wearing all black IN THE WINTER, and had my sister said I looked like a devil worshiper. I also got handed a flyer in Dollar Tree once WHILE WEARING A GOLD CROSS.

I would call myself atheist. My mom is a devout Roman Catholic, and she has raised my whole family that way, but I never got into it, and other than the required attendance at Mass and family praying, religion was never a part of my day-to-day life. I would have gone on being an apathetic Roman Catholic until my younger brothers showed me about atheism. I am still learning about it, but it makes the most sense to me so far.

Yes it is, my college tutor last year was a wiccan, they practice witchcraft and have been known to hold orgies.

I'm agnostic. I'm an open person. I cannot prove, nor disprove god's existence. It's always open for interpretation. Until I see proof, I shall forever be a non-believer.

I am quite religious, but I understand why people can be agnostic, atheist, or just not affiliated with an organized religion. Too many religions these days focus on hating others while we all should be loving each other no matter what. We will always disagree with each other but it doesn't mean we should hate. Any religion that hates other individuals or groups isn't God's religion IMO. You hear all the time about how some christians tell non-christians that they are going to hell. Only God can make that decision.

 

Love the sinner, hate the sin, because we are all sinners. (no one is perfect)

 

And as a side note to atheists, I respect all of them and will never hate/judge 'em. For the most part, a lot of them are intelligent and reasonable.

I'm the opposite of almost all of you.....

I'm a Christian living amongst almost all atheists and agnostics.

 

My 'religion', I guess you could call it, makes me feel happy in life. Kind of like MLP does, except for on a more deep and personal level.

I'm an atheist agnostic. More so atheist. I find more comfort in believing in the lack of a deity or afterlife, since it allows me to cherish this life as the only one I have.

 

Although I really like the idea of reincarnation.

 

If ya don't yell at me about your religion, I won't yell at you about mine. I'm a very understanding person, and I respect everyone's decisions about what they are (well, almost everyone.)

I am an atheist. The reason being that I see no reason whatsoever to believe that there is actually an God of any sort.

 

I was raised an Christian (going from a Methodist church, to a Church of Christ church for most of my childhood and early teens, back to an Methodist church) but I only ever really believed because my family and others did. I thought they had some kind of knowledge that I didn't yet have, and that was the reason they believed. When I realized that this wasn't true, my belief fell because the existence of a God just doesn't match up with reality in my eyes.

Right, religion. There isn't a word for what I believe in, I think. I don't believe in organized religion. Whatever "God" is, we feel it inside. I call myself a Spiritualist, but that is probably not the right word. I believe that there are higher powers beyond the veil of reality. The part of them that exists here can be felt within us. They created this universe, and we inhabit it. When we die, if we were "good", we are given choice between Heaven and Reincarnation. If we were "bad", we cease to exist. I'm pretty sure this is something only I believe in, since it comes from within myself. Anyone else think the answers should come from within instead of without?
