We all live the best we can,

and we all die before we plan.

 

Some die slow, peaceful and free,

while others die faster than any could see

 

But Friday the fourteenth, of this December,

Just this one date, now many remember.

 

By the speed of a bullet, a school turned red.

For on this day, twenty children were dead

 

Together we grieve, as one we pray,

pray for the lives, just whisked away.

 

Letting them fade, this we refuse.

We’ll never forget the ones we lose.

 

To the 20 children and 6 adults who died this past Friday in Connecticut
