Dashabel 381 December 17, 2012 Share December 17, 2012 As a country, horse girl myself, the fact that MLP:FiM is all just adorable ponies is one of the things that appeals to me the most. So I guess that gives me one excuse for my obsession. :3 Who else LOVES horses, rides or owns any themself? I'd love to chat with you! As for myself, we have a big, black Friesian gelding named Josh and a sweet brown mare named Victoria, whom I ride. <3 Love them both. 5 Signature banner made by Champion RD92 You can't have a rainbow without a little rain

Twilight Circuits 604 December 17, 2012 Share December 17, 2012 I actually love horseback riding and did it when i was a kid. I can ride and control the horse no problem but never learned to saddle up or anything. Although I can't do it for too long or my spine starts to kill me after a few hours from all the compressing or up and down movement. Courageous Thunder Dash 7,825 December 17, 2012 Share December 17, 2012 Horseback riding is awesome, especially if you can get your horse to go a slow gallop. I've always wanted to get a horse to gallop, but all I can get it to do is to do a trot. And to everyone else, I made this thread because I wanted to connect with other MLP-horse lovers because, correct me if I'm wrong, but many Bronies aren't a fan because they're a horse person, just because... well, actually I don't know.. but.. you get what I mean Signature banner made by Champion RD92 You can't have a rainbow without a little rain
WildCard 1,037 December 17, 2012 Share December 17, 2012 I practiced Western riding for 2 years and liked it a lot. Unfortunately I had to move somewhere else and now the barn is too far away to ride frequently. Still visit the horse I learned to ride with every month and I miss him and riding a lot. He's called "Sarge" and shares a lot of character traits with myself. He even walks a bit funny like me. OC was made by Princess Ariona. Jadefire 2,798 December 17, 2012 Share December 17, 2012 It was actually My Little Pony that got me into horses. x3 I haven't actually owned a horse yet, but I'm hoping to rectify that when we get adequate fences built around my yard. 1 Ponysona bio, here. Joy 60 December 17, 2012 Share December 17, 2012 I've adored horses since I was three. I don't own one, nor do I do riding lessons, but it's my dream to have both. Appledash, your horse sounds amazing. Friesans are the best. I've read every horse book in existence, but that doesn't make me a horsewoman, unfortunately.

Spartan 433 December 17, 2012 Share December 17, 2012 Just a warning to those that want to own a horse.. they are, 1. Expensive to care for. 2. It is NOT easy in anyway to raise them. 3. They eat alot.. But overall, treat them well and they will be not only healthy, but loveable

Good luck with that, although I assure you it is far harder than just building fences! Think of the costs of food, shelter, livery... and they can become very, VERY addictive!! I've read every horse book in existence, but that doesn't make me a horsewoman, unfortunately. Thank you! I love Friesians to. So beautiful and magestic. When he was 3 or 4, Josh was graded premier 1 at a Friesian show - only 5% of those in the world!! He's very special. He's been to lots of top Friesian shows and, although he's cheeky and not the best at dressage, he's certainly turned a few heads. Next year, we're taking him to Horse Of The Year show to model the Friesian's breed in the 'Horse Breeds Village' I hope you fulfill you dream one day - I promise you, if you do keep dreaming, it will come true! Dreambiscuit 11,406 May 2, 2019 Share May 2, 2019 I used to have a summer job when I was a teen, and part of my duties was caring for animals that were part of a petting zoo, and that included several miniature horses. I like animals quite a lot as a general rule, but those little horses in my care were such brats I really didn't want to deal with them anymore. I don't mind riding (full size) horses and I don't mind appreciating their beauty from a distance, but I've had enough 'fun' with them first-hand to last me the rest of my life, thanks.
