If anybody was wondering, despite this being announced less than a day ago, rule 34 still has no exceptions. You're free to check for yourself though.

Well... I would personally prefer to wait a little bit more before meeting the new Pokémon. :|

I mean, of course I have a lot of positive expectations for this new generation - I think it will be awesome just like every other was. I just think they should not rush like that and take their time to make other stuff many fans were waiting for, such as the Ruby & Sapphire re-make, another 3D side-story adventure for the consoles (like Pokémon Colosseum and Pokémon XD) or even a decent anime for once...

Again, I love Pokémon and I'm sure I'll love these new games as well, but it all seems way too cluttered to me. They don't really need to introduce the new generation 'asap' like that - I'm sure the 3DS and its popularity will stay around for a long, long time anyway.

Hey, everypony! The names for the two Legendary Pokemon were released just now! The X themed deer/antelope legendary it's called Xerneas while the bird looking Y legendary is called Yveltal.

The only problem I have with the game is that its going to be on 3ds. :l

I have to buy a whole new system just for one or two games. Which is crap imho.

I would actually hold off on getting a 3ds even with this new, but the Pokemaster in me wont shut his mouth and keeps yelling at me. :l

I'm trying to wrap my head around the whole "the system's been out for over a year, but Nintendo should just keep developing games for their old system instead because I don't wanna buy the new one" logic everyone keeps posting. So far, it doesn't make sense.

If you don't want to buy a new system just for one or two games, that's fine, then don't. I see no reason Nintendo should have to skimp on quality massively, affecting the game for the rest of us, just because some people don't feel like getting with the times. After a year and a $100 price drop, there's really no excuse not to have a 3DS if you're planning on playing any future Nintendo handheld titles.

You're are also insisting that Nintendo change a working pattern. By the time these games release, the 3DS will be over two years old, about same the age the Game Boy Advance was when they released Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, and about the same age the DS was when they released Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. Two years into a new hardware gen, it's time for Pokemon to move up. That's just the way it's always been. You people should know that by now.

I'm certainly excited for it; I love the Pokemon franchise, and the legendaries look very awesome!  Can't wait to see what new game features it will have (along with the glorious 3D :D)

I can't be the only one who thinks that all the latest Pokemon-generations sucks, right? RIGHT?

I miss Leaf Green and Fire Red and Red and Blue :(

No, but can I ask why? C'mon, bro, what is it about the new gens you don't like? I mean, it'd get boring if it was the same each generation! This is coming from someone who's grown up with the oldest gens, and I love the new ones.

why do I have the feeling that this game will be more of the same but with MUCH better graphics, in all pokemon games you can move by all directions (meaning it wasn'tt a platform)...this game will be the same but with more detailed 3D models and 3D graphics as well.

I'm not saying that the pokemon franchise sucks, but I would really like Pokemon to be more of a simulation/RPG game.

Let me explain you why.

3D environment in which you can explore and interact with everything and everyone, you can examine trees, doors, rocks...you can collect "garbage" and make cool items with them. You know, an adventure game that has no limits! if you see, Pokemon has always had a "traced" path that you must follow in order to beat the game.

Care of your pokemon, like if they were your pets. It would be pretty cool that each pokemon you capture can develop a personality of their own (do you remember how hard was for Ash to dome Charizard? it was awesome!) I would like things like these in the games. You can pet them, feed them, play with them and create a bond with them.

Also in battle, this thing of battle by turns has to go, the battles must feel more realistic, in which the pokemon can act on their own and you give it commands, then you will see the result if you trained it good and how responsive it is.

Anyways, I feel like I am asking for too much. Nevertheless, I am excited for this game, and I think that I'm going to pick it up, I love the 3DS!

I kinda agree with them. Actually, the only reason I was able to finish Black and White was because of Global Link. I hated B/W, but I absolutely love B2/W2. D/P/Pt were pretty cool, they introduced a lot of new things to the series which made it even better!

They've definitely had a pattern since day one, introducing a new generation halfway into the life of a handheld (with the exception of the original Gameboy, where it was released at the end.). The only reason I never completely upgraded (I've had a 3DS before) was because my DSi worked well, and there was no reason for me to upgrade, the only games I'm interested in are the Virtual console games, which I can play on my computer if I'm so inclined.

Its time to move on, we saw 9 Main Series games on the DS, more than any other console saw. Its time to move into the future, and take advantage of the 3DS. X and Y will be the reason I finally let my DSi Rest in Peace.

I have a question though. For those that have, or had, both the 3DS and the 3DS XL, are there any other differences other than the size? Do the games look any better on one or the other?

Well I can not say I am not excited for a new pokemon game because I am :D.

I actually just got Black 2 though :P. And I don't have the funds really to buy a 3DS yet, so it may be a while before I actually get this game. Even if it doesn't come out for a while.

Still pretty cool. Although from the 3d i've seen on the 3ds from others playing it it just seems to hurt my eyes. So I doubt i'll actually play it in 3D. Still a cool thing to have. But the 3d just feels weird and hard on the eyes in my opinion. Good thing they have a feature for turning it off so when I get this I'll be able to buy and play games like this.

I agree even if I don't have a 3ds that its coming around time for nintendo to just put stuff on new gen consoles. I mean they've had the DS around for like... Forever. They probably need to hardware upgrades for this game compared to the DS anyways.

Also.. I'm sorry but I can't remember any of the names of the Pokemon black and white generations. Last generation I can remember the names for is Diamond and Pear, maybe I'll be able to get these down, who knows. After a while though theres so many to remember and the names are so abstract it gets quiet difficult :P.

Anyways I'm excited regardless, Pokemon was a big part of my childhood, so I have a natural liking for it :). (childhood as in like young childhood, I'm only 15 :P.)

I can't wait for these!! Judging by the trailer, they look like thay might end up being my favorite Pokemon games yet! (due to the pokemon available in it)
I'm probably gonna get Y version first, but I've gotten every version so far, so I'll end up getting X at some point. I'll also be starting with Chespin! As for my second playthrough, hard to say. Maybe Fennekin.

I have, over time, constructed an imaginary story that I focus on whenever I'm alone. The "story" consists of not one character, but a whole family of characters, who all have their own stories (I know their names, the names of their partners, the names of their ex-partners, their best friends, their best friends' stories). Am I insane?

The clinical name for this is "unpublished author".

The turn based system is awesome. :l

I'd hate for it to be any different. I mean, it could work if done properly, but having the Pokemon act on their own according to your 'training' seems like it would be a lot more of a hassle/annoyance/luck based or something. I wouldnt mind trying it though.

I do like everything else you said. The whole legit caring for them and whatnot.

Also, it already is an RPG, isn't it? Just not THAT kind of one.

As excited as I am for this game to come out, I must say I don't like the new graphics. I don't know, it just looks kinda weird, but that doesn't mean I'm not gonna buy the game.

Ah, sometimes I think I'm the only person who's not excited about a 3D Pokemon game... I mean, it's awesome that the game has specific animations for the attacks and stuff, but it just seriously doesn't even feel like Pokemon anymore.

Idk i might just be crazy or something ok dont hate me

Well, I'm pretty happy these are coming out and I'm psyched. I just gotta buy a 3ds now.

And for anyone that thinks that X and Y shouldn't be on the 3ds, check out this picture I foundNxT2k.jpg

Also, I'm kinda glad R/S/E remakes aren't out. There's no point putting those games on the DS, when they can move it to the 3ds and have it have 6th gen mechanics.

While I see what you are saying, the ultimate problem is that it would basically screw up competitive battle majorly. Not only would that be a new battle system but it mess up the combat as well.

To make matters worse would be the training. Training is a very complicated matter in this game. There is so much put into it.

That would seriously mess up EVs and IVs if that were implemented.

Look, I get it. But thats for something like a side game. For a main series game, it should generally have the same feel.

but think about it, not much RPG's are using the turn based system anyways.

yeah it wouldn't be as competitive (perhaps I can be wrong) but it offers a much more realistic way of combat, of course that includes giving your pokemon commands such as "evade", "jump", "move left", and whatnot, and with the microphone it could be even better! and of course with the option of having your pokemon to learn as much techniques as he needs or at least to be able to learn 8 teachniques. 4 are too low.

I personally like the design of Chespin, it's Froakie that looks weird to me. :P We already have a few frog Pokémon - the whole Poli line and the Croagunk line.

Not to mention Seismitoad. I dunno, Froakie looks alright but we have quite a few amphibious Pokemon already... hard to get excited about that one. As long as it's good it won't matter to me though, but starters usually aren't about 60% of the time in the end so we'll see.

Oh, and here's a few new dual typings I'm hoping for:

Fire/Electric(with Levitate obviously, maybe a firework Pokemon?)

Ghost/Steel(would be the coolest thing ever)

Dragon/Fighting

Normal/Ghost(to have something to counteract Fighting/Ghost perfect coverage)

Grass/Fire

Electric/anything(needs more types mixed with it, too many Pokemon are Electric only and horrible)

Something Bug/Water that's not only Surskit

Well, we already have Rotom-H, but I wouldn't mind seeing another one. And one that's more easy to obtain. I also really want to see ghost/steel and normal/ghost.

Besides that, I kinda hope that Flareon finally gets a decent STAB move. Just one good fire move that is can get, that's all I'm asking for. Please Gamefreak, make it happen!

Man, I forgot Rotom, but I'm guilty of using only Wash lol. :P

Anyway, he certainly does cover a lot with his formes, but that was kind of cop out imo, more original Electric types with his dual typings that have completely different stats would be very much appreciated, if not needed.

And Flare Blitz for Flareon's move pool for this gen, I want to believe...

SBB64, are you with me when thinking that last gen, the Pokemon Druddigon should have been the Dragon/Fighting type you're looking for?

It just looks like a Brawler, plus it does know quite a few Fighting type moves and can learn plenty more.

I really think Game Freak dropped the ball on that. It's mainly why I'm interested in the Volt Black/Blaze White hacks...

I dunno, I'd prefer something speedier and nimbler personally, but that's just me, Druddigon's kind of a fat lard of a dragon. :P Maybe it could evolve into something better, but we'll see.

True but think of 4th Gen Pokemon, those were actually really imaginative.

As my avatar will imply, I'll get Chespin, because he's super cute and I love grass types :3

Yes, I do play LoL, and I thought of it more like fiery Teemo :P

And hopefully we'll have a Water/Poison, Grass/Fighting, and a Fire/Dark or Fire/Psychic, those four will be REALLY good.

Yeah but you can imagine it'd be hard to come up with over 100-150 UNIQUE monsters every generation. You can't fault them for making it easier once in a while and just taking inspiration from the world, can you?
