Also, anyone who's ever said the last generation was unimaginative hasn't looked at the first generation in a while. I looked back on it and realized that most of the pokemon from the first generation were incredibly unoriginal. Onyx was a stack of rocks, Geodude WAS a rock, Pikachu is a mouse with electricity....

True but think of 4th Gen Pokemon, those were actually really imaginative.

 

I'm not complaining. I'm really excited about this! Although personally the starters looked a bit silly to me. What starter are you guys thinking of getting? I'm thinking the fire one and POSSIBLY the grass depending on his final form.

As my avatar will imply, I'll get Chespin, because he's super cute and I love grass types :3

 

I don't know if you play league of legends but I know have this image of a firey Warwick (who is a werewolf) xD.

 

Nah, by the look of it it'll hopefully be a more Vulpix/Ninetails style Pokemon. I would really like it if they went back to how Gen 2 did the starters and make them single type or at least two types that make sense together like Grass/Poison.

Yes, I do play LoL, and I thought of it more like fiery Teemo

And hopefully we'll have a Water/Poison, Grass/Fighting, and a Fire/Dark or Fire/Psychic, those four will be REALLY good.

Pretty excited for this! So nice to finally see pokemon move to the next level, and it looks really great too! Day one purchase for me, although i already liked pokemon enough to buy them on release day. This and Animal Crossing: New Leaf will make a great 2013 for Nintendo 3DS! :-)

So whaddaya say? isn't this awesome? finally a 3D Pokemon game, with awesome new Pokemon to back it up! And there was even a Kirlia there which means there could be 3rd gen Pokemon too! I am so happy this is happening, I'm getting a 3DS just for this game ^w^

I'd love it if there was a Psychic type involved involved, and I can actually see that happening with this fire type. The other two you suggested also works well, especially with the frog.

I would just like to point out that X and Y are really stupid names. In fact, it's hard to even call them names, considering X and Y are normally used as variables, placeholders for an undetermined value. It's like they just gave up on coming up with a name.

I cannot even handle the fact that the battle animation is styled similar to pokemon collessuem.

 

Now that we're sure they've run out of colors and gems to name games after, it looks like we're seeing a game about DNA. I'm assuming that the male trainer is Y and the female is X, corresponding to male (xy) and female(xx) chromosomes. I couldn't find the picture but there is a screencap of the male trainer in front of a mirror, character customization may be a possibility! I am over excited. Now I actually have a reason to buy a 3DS...Also, the release will be worldwide. Instead of the usual the japan kiddies get their games first. I believe the release is in October, I'll double check though. I am so excited, but so behind. I mean...I just got white2 for Christmas.

Based on the Japanese covers, which show DNA it may just be about that. I also think it could be the X axis and Y axis, since the Y legendary is a bird and the X legendary is terrestrial, and since the game is on the 3ds with 3d images there may be a pokemon Z too, to represent the Z axis.

 

Either way, I'm pretty psyched. I just gotta get a 3ds now though.

I agree. I mean, my sister even said "Oh! I hope the newest pokemon game is 3D instead of regular pixels." and I thought that might look stupid, but admittedly I think the cell-shaded aspect and the thin pixel outline with the 3D element looks so neat.

I was expecting a lot from gen 6 and I feel this is even awesomer than I could have expected. I really like the water-type starter and the fire-type. And the 3d looks very well done too, I'm psyched.

I'm very excited for this! The game is going to be released in October 2013, so you are right about that. I'm glad that they are doing the release worldwide as opposed to Japan getting the game first and the rest get it later.

 

It'll be something that I'll be asking for next Christmas, lol.

It looks like from the video that it will be a mix of new and old Pokemon so that is cool. I can't wait for them to release what pokemon are in it though.

Looks amazing...the new scenery....it's like everything I want in a Pokemon game! New Pokemon! 3D polygons! Epic gameplay....this game is like a Pokemon lover's dream come true...

 

I kinda don't like the frog water-type starter....but besides that, this games looks freaking boss. Love the new legendaries, too! My question is: Do you think we'll be able to transfer our Pokemon from Pokemon BlackWhite and Black/White 2 on there? I think so, since you can play DS games on the 3DS, but it will require two 3Ds.... darn. D:

 

But as a Pokemon gamer/lover, I must say I nearly crapped in my pants at seeing this....this game looks so promising, and if it's a good game....SQUUUEEE! Can't express how excited I am!

For me it is normally a clear cut choice on what starter I go with. I've always gone water in every generation, even when they aren't the best starter to chose. Something about them always appealed to me, even Mudkip. Yet the grass starter this gen looks so cute and I don't know. I think I'm going to have to wait and see what the evolution line looks like of all three. 

 

On another note maybe this gen the fire wont turn into a Fire/Fighting one. That would be awesome.

Water elemental Pokemon are my thing, but the new starter, Froakie, looks a bit weird to me. I'd like to know what its more evolved forms look like.

My gosh, my gosh. I just now heard about this and after watching the videos a few things have been  decided by me. I am getting a 3DS, and defiantly getting this game. It's going to be hard saying goodbye to the old Pixel versions of an amazing game series, but I think that this makes it manageable. 

 

Can already tell the Fire Fox is my starter, it's so freaking cute.

For the love of god. DON'T make another fire/fighter Nintendo.

 

Though, I don't even know if I will use the fire type. I love all the starters. I can't choose. I have until october at least. 

I'm getting Pokemon X. I just love the legendary for it. (Unless they pull a black and white). 

 

I want that deer like legendary so bad.

Also, I don't think people care that much, but I LOVE this new rollerblading mechanic. Looks SO AWESOME!

I've owned the console since day 1, so this game will probably be a day 1 purchase from me too. I'll probably replace my 3ds with the xl version soon though.

 

Overall, the games look great so far, looking forward to see new and recurring features.

 

Also, Chespin best, favorite gen 6 starter. x)
