Hello!

I'm not going to post any links, because i think the songs are quite known and can easily be found in most homes/youtube/etc.

Personally, my favourites would be Pink-Floyd, Ozzy Osbourne, so i suggest checking those bands out again. It's always healthy to go back and listen to music, that wasn't heard to much before in their time.

There are several bands that I like from the 70's and 80's that I am sure many have heard of. So it would be easy for people to find their music.

Anyway, I really like Pink Floyd. Then there is Metallica, they got me into rock. AC/DC, Megadeth, I like some Queen, though I do not own any of their albums. I really like The Flaming Lips and R.E.M. as well.

I inherited a love of Guns N' Roses from my father. I don't like the new GN' R though because as great as Axl Rose may be, without Slash and the general chemistry the band had, they aren't very good. I also love Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, Queen, and Pink Floyd. Aerosmith is probably my favorite classic rock band, and my favorite song is either Pink or Mama Kin.

The hair bands from the 80's are kinda shitty IMO. Never the less, there were plenty of great lesser known bands in the 80's. However, The Smiths, The Cure and Joy Division are really good. Yea I like bands like Black Sabbath and The Velvet Underground too it's just that the 80's had so many good bands in the underground and a bunch of shit in the mainstream. The 90's had some pretty good grunge/ alternative bands as well along with some good underground stuff. Oh yea and Journey's a guilty pleasure of mine.

I like Aerosmith, Def Leppard, REO Speedwagon, Styx, Motley Crue, Bad English, Supertramp, Van Halen, Whitesnake, Kix, and so, so many more I can't put them all on this thread.  When I tell people what my favorite Journey song is, most of the time, they've never heard of it.  It's none other than Suzanne.

I was never huge into rock or metal but there is some stuff I like, like Queen, Journey, and of course Enter Sandman by Mettalica.

Andy by the way, how many here know that Michael Bolton of all people started out as a David Coverdale-esque frontman for a hair metal group?

Well... You could say I like Classic Rock. I own quite a few classic rock band t-shirts, I have 3920 classic rock songs in my music library, and I recently played Space Station #5 by Montrose in my school's annual Winter Show. I have also played in the last few years Sweet Emotion by Aerosmith, Custard Pie by Led Zeppelin, Same Old Song and Dance by Aerosmith, TNT by AC/DC, and I am planning on playing Carry On Wayward Son by Kansas in an upcoming show. So yeah, you could say I like classic rock...

The 80s? ...Lets not talk about the 80s. =P

If you want to know why, Chicago is my favorite band:

I actually probably listen to classic rock the most alongside classical. I was raised to classic rock as that's when my parents grew up. However, I, for the most part, love the bands like Chicago that are a little bit more on the jazzy side. And, of course, I just love wind instruments.

You my friend rock! I love that song, actually I really like all the songs on that album. I think the majority of the songs on that album are a unknown to most people. My favorites from that album are:

Why Can't this Night Go On Forever

It Could've been You

Suzanne

Happy To Give

Positive Touch

I mostly listen to mainstream pop and rock hit singles from the '60s-'80s, with a lesser amount of more adult pop and alternative music from the '90s-present. Consequently, a fair bit of '80s classic rock is included in that - Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, John Mellencamp, Queen, Journey, Foreigner, Styx, REO Speedwagon, etc.

When I tell people what my favorite Journey song is, most of the time, they've never heard of it.  It's none other than Suzanne.

I've heard of it! But that's just because it was a hit single - it peaked at #17 on the Billboard Hot 100 in August 1986. I don't think I've ever heard "Suzanne" on any of the classic rock, oldies, or "play anything" stations that I listen to.
