As Chikorita said, we get to see her family in Season 5 so hopefully a lot. They have room to expand upon it, especially with the supposed Apple family connection. It wasn't especially till after the Smile song, which made me understand her better, after that I grew to love her. These moments only happen occasionally. Whenever I'm in a sad, gloomy mood like right now, I tend to think of Pinkie Pie. Pinkie Pie is one of the things that brings my spirits back up and stops me from going full on depressed. Her happy cheering and singing is just so happy. The way she's always optimistic about everything really puts a smile on my face.
