Harmonic Revelations 8,835 August 10, 2013 Author Share August 10, 2013 Interview #20: Sir. Flutter Hooves Today I bring you an interview with another great user, Sir. Flutter Hooves. A fan of the amazing Tom the Rock, and an all around great user in their own right. Let's get right to it. 1.) When and how did you first become a fan of My Little Pony, was there anything specific you liked about it? I really liked the characters, and the diffrent personalities there were. Also the animation really stood out to me, and the music from the fan base and the show its self really helped me get into the show. 2.) What is your favorite thing about Fluttershy? My favorite thing about Fluttershy...got fifteen minutes? Just kidding, I really love her personality. She's most like me for many reasons. First off she is shy like me, but through out the show she is getting stronger and more out going just like me. Also her love of animals is just like me, she loves everything to do with animals and that's me right there. She is just great. 3.) Was Equestria Girls as good/bad as you expected? What was your favorite thing about it? Well first off I never really thought Equestria Girls was going to be bad. I thought from the very first trailer it was gonna be awesome and I was right! It was actually better then I expected, and a very good story. My favorite part? Well the Helping Twilight save her Crown song, seeing the color of Vinyl's eyes, and human Derpy! 4.) What are your hopes for Season 4? My hopes for Season 4 are the following: I really want Twilight to keep her wings, but not a changed personality. I want her to keep her same dorky attitude! I want a backstory on Scooatloo and her disability. I especially want to see Luna and Celestia's backstory, and the most important thing is more Fluttershy! 5.) Has being a part of the fandom changed your life in any significant way? If so, how? Yes, the fandom has changed by life in many ways. First I wake up happy! I wake up everyday excited to go look at the forums and the new MLP sites and seeing the news. I also respect people way more now, and I acutaly love my friends more and don't take them for granet. 6.) What is your favorite thing about MLP Forums? My favorite thing about the forums are the awesome people. They are so nice and supportive it's really awesome, I can just be myself. Also the mods and the admins, they never get bad and if you make a mistake they don't get bad unlike other forums. They actually take the time and help you through the problems, it's really neat! 7.) Who would win in a fight, the Mane Six, or Tom The Rock? Tom would always win! He is Tom, and Tom is best pony.

techno915 408 August 10, 2013 Share August 10, 2013 I like this idea. it seems to me like those random interviews you would see on the local news, where you have one or two major local figures and then some common townspeople being pulled off the street. Could I volunteer to be interviewed? I, too, would like to know about this. Yes-Man 597 August 12, 2013 Share August 12, 2013 Just found this thread, another reason to love you. But what amazes me is that they somehow come up with a large paragraph of for each answer. Harmonic Revelations 8,835 September 7, 2013 Author Share September 7, 2013 (edited) Interview #21: Nascarfan160 Today we have an interview with a great friend of mine, Nascarfan160. He's a great guy, and fun to talk to. Well, without further ado, here's the interview: 1.) When did you first become a fan of My Little Pony, and did anything in particular lead you to enjoy it? It was way back in February of 2012. I was already by then acquainted with internet pop culture and what was popular at the time. I had seen and heard of the show prior to watching it. I have come across quite a few image macros with ponies on them. Already I had been attracted by their designs, I had a slight attatchment to the show before I even watched it. Just goes to show how powerful it truly is. Anywho, my friend from school had been telling me about it around that time and wanted me to watch it. He sent me an email which linked to the first episode on YouTube. I reluctantly refused to watch it until a few months later. Our school had spring break that year from April 1-7. Over those nights, having a lot of free time to not think about school and all, I had been constantly thinking about watching the show. Before then, I had been researching about the show, and its unusual popularity status, which had me curious, no doubt. But on April 5th, 2012, when everyone in the house was sleeping, I decided it was time. To be honest, I was nervous and sweaty before I watched it, I was thinking of the possiblities of how it could potentially change my life. And so, having watched the pilot episodes, I was instantly hooked. I went through lots of different kinds of positive sensations whilst watching, it was just so much hitting me at once, per usual when experiencing something great for the very first time. You'll never experience it the same way again, so you have to take advantage of it. I was just blown away on so many levels. It was easily one of the best nights of my life, and I will never forget it. And I hope that every non-brony out there gets the exact same feeling when watching it the first tiem, it's quite the feeling. What initially led me to love it at first was the character designs, having seen them multiple times prior to my first watching. My exact thoughts at first were that the designs were really iconic, primarily that of Twilight Sparkle (and her name, too). And, with natural human instinct, I put voices to their appearances, which mostly weren't anything like I was expecting them to be, particularly Rainbow Dash (who was my favorite, even before I watched it!). But I got over that easily, and was mesmmerized by the usual: the stunning animation, the amazing voice work and writing, the human-like and likeable characteristics and personalities of the ponies, the tones/themes that anyone can understand and enjoy, etc. I'd say what I enjoy about the show now, but this is initially we're talking about. 2.) How did you pick the username "Nascarfan160"? This is kinda simple, yet complicated. Back in 2009 when I first had real access to the Internet (the house always did, just the devices I used never connected to them until then), I went on to different websites, obviously, and signed up. Upon creating my first screen name, it initially had "Fan160" at the end of it. "Fan" was obvious, but I will never know why I picked the number 160. There really is nothing significant about it, to my knowledge (probably mathematically, but I have no clue), so it's pretty much just a random even number. Months later when I signed up for a place that required my screen name to be longer, I immediately went to another passion of mine, NASCAR. Which gave me what I have today, NASCARFAN160. 3.) What are your hopes for Season 4? Less pandering. No, seriously though, like a lot of people, it seemed that's what the focus was for season three. But that doesn't mean it was a fully terrible season. While all episodes were at least average for me (some were borderline annoying, but nothing comes close to that of Double Rainboom), I really liked a lot of episodes, including Sleepless in Ponyville, One Bad Apple and Magical Mystery Cure, all three some of my favorite episodes. Of course, I never find any episode at all to be a useless filler episode. I (in some cases, at least try) to appreciate all the good in every episode, and look back at the bad, but not criticize it for it. In addition, that season had some of the best songs of the series, in my opinion. But back to season 4. Firstly, I really like the previews of what we have so far. I'm not going to spill the spoilers, but what was in it makes me ultra-hyped for what's to come. What I would like, as a lot of fans of Dash and Twi would, is an episode where Rainbow teaches Twilight how to fly. Now, call me cliché, but I think that would make for a perfect slice-of-lifeish episode. I'm too tired to think of what the moral would be (then again, l think like half the episodes in S3 didn't have a moral, or at least a clear/spoken one), but it would be good for people like me. Other than that, I expect nothing but more surprise references (not too much, though), excellent writing, and everything that drove us all to watch the show in the first place. I predict that season 4, being a 26-episode-length season again, will be fulfilling for the majority of bronies. I, like always, have no worries or fears that the show will proceed to get worse and worse in quality, I personally think that mindset is just ridiculous and overly pessimistic. And that's not what the show's about at all, is it? No, I usually go with the flow, and trust fully in what the writers, animators, and overall crew have in store to entertain the audience. Love it or hate it, the DHX can't please every single one of us, but they can try. 4.) Has being a part of the fandom changed your life in any significant way, and if so, how? It has changed me so much I don't even know where to begin. Mainly, to the point where I say that the show itself has given me some of the best feelings I've ever felt, and had me go through what I think were some of the best moments/days of my life, for numerous reasons. That day, the day I first watched My Little Pony, the day I would never be able to predict when I was a child, it changed me miraculously. I must have known what was in store for me, the things that were to come. I didn't really know about the fandom, or any fandom in general until about a few weeks later when I got more acquainted with the pony fandom. The Saturday of the week I first watched, MMMMystery on the Friendship Express premiered, and I watched it on the Hub. Throughout the next week I browsed and browsed and learned more about what the fandom was about, and pretty much the basis for every fandom in general (I have this fandom to thank for teaching me about fanfics, fanart, crossovers (yet I presumably thought about that thing as a kid), a whole lot of memes, and a few general other things about the internet), and that's one of the things I'm most thankful for. Anywho, the next week I went on sites like Equestria Daily (being new, it was kinda akwward poking around that site, but I got acquainted in little time, and to this day I visit it daily) and FiMFiction, looking around for stuff to do, I was kinda stumped. Within the previous week, I had went on a massive episode marathon- I watched all 49 episodes (at the time that's all there was, as of the time I write this there are 65...) in a few days. Yeah, I was kinda obsessive. The show and characters were on my mind 80% of the time, literally, for the next few weeks. I could not stop thinking about the show at all, it was just too good. It...just gave me feelings...these indescribable feelings that made me feel good. Happiness, I guess it's what you could call it, but yet, a different kind of happiness. But nevertheless, I loved it. On April 21, 2012, when the Canterlot Wedding episodes, one of my top 3 favorite episodes in the series (counting the two-parter as one episode), aired live on Saturday morning, I decided to watch it on a livestream. And, it was one of the most incredible experiences of my life, next to watching it for the first time, of course. I nearly cried at the end of the episode. And, to be honest, that usually never happens. Crying isn't usually something I do unless it's a big deal, in which this case, it was kinda a big deal. The episode itself, mainly, but experiencing it while watching other people's reactions was a great feeling too. It was my first real interaction with other bronies, though I didn't really chat as much as watch the episode itself. A few days later, I wanted to rack up some discussion about MLP. So I searched, and I quote, "mlp forum" on Google. And you know what site was the top hit? MLP Forums, undoubtedly. As soon as I clicked on it, I knew for sure that this was going to get good. The first thing I did was sign up, went through the process, etc. Then, I made my intro thread, as usual, then started to slowly make my way around the forums. A little into my first year here, in May, I posted in a 3DS-related thread on the forums, to which a member named Apple Bloom responded, which led to a little PM conversation between us. A year and severeal months later, we've become amazing friends, and since then we've met eachother at BronyCon, which was definitely one of the best weekends of my life. Through time, I met other amazing friends like @~Chaotic Discord~ , @Artemis , @Feld0 , , , @Chigens and Kay , @Harmonic Revelations among a lot of other incredible people (I'm sorry if I missed you, I love all you guys! <3). And that's what I think the show and the fandom is about. Friends coming together from around the country, to unite and celebrate one specific television show that holds a very special place in all of our hearts, one thing that makes us all, well...happy. It's a beautiful thing in my eyes, and I think, spread around enough, the show can emotionally change the lives of a lot of the world. If everyone's seen the way the show has helped people in their time of desperate need before, I think it can do a whole lot more than that. We're a group of people who may just love watching a cartoon about ponies, but deep down, there's an unbeliavable big meaning to all of it, and it's what made us enjoy the show in the first place, and it has the power to captivate many, many others into joining the humungous fandom that it has become. I'm anxious to see what's in store for us in the future. In addendum, I also appreciate how ponies have improved my view on the things I've witnessed in the past, and the things I will witness in the future. It has definitely taken an interesting turn in my life, to think about something in the past, or do something that I used to do, and think of ponies, and just suddenly be filled with this sensation; this weird sensation that I like. 5.) What section of the forums do you enjoy most? Ah...well, as embarrassing as it is, I haven't been much on the forums as of late. All I really do mostly is check status updates, but I've been so busy with other stuff I haven't been posting other than in staff-related stuff. But, other than that, I enjoy the antics of the forum lounge, and the fun of discussion the show in general of Show Discussion, and the fandom in SugarCube Corner. 6.) What is your favorite things about MLP Forums? How it's such a nice, beautiful forum with a lot of great support behind it as well. I've been following the progress ever since I became a member, and it has sure come a dang long way. And as for Poniverse, I could not be happier with what has been happening. Just meeting the other staff and seeing the panel in person, was truly a great experience for me as a Poniverse Staff member, and I can only see good times ahead for us that will surely enhance everyone's experience as a member of the fandom. 7.) What was your favorite thing about Bronycon 2013? Pretty much the last paragraph of the answer to question 4. For me, it's all about coming together and rejoicing over the gift Lauren Faust and the crew at DHX has graced us with. It felt great to be surrounded by people who's passion burns for the very same things as I do (that's not to say I never get that feeling when I go to hockey games now and then...), but for something different. Something that I have been hiding for a year and a half I could finally set free, and get off my chest. It felt like I had unlocked a potential that had been a burden laying on my back since April of 2012. Seeing everyone I've been talking to in person for once, it was amazing. And, to be frank, I wasn't nearly there as much as I could be (blame my lack of getting-ready-in-time skills), but I still enjoyed the heck out of it, and it only brings me joy that the next year can only get better. I became a new kind of member of the fandom that weekend...buying pony merchandise for the first time, seeing all this pony stuff in person at once, it was just as incredible sensation as when I initially watched the show. I am thankful for all the things the show has given me, and I can say I lived a happy life now, after all the things that have happened to me since April 5, 2012.
