I'm guessing the animals helped her built the house and provides food for her? So many questions. I think that she is a veterinarian, or possibly an animal sitter. Well, technically none of the ponies are really seen paid except maybe Rarity for their jobs, so i don't really think its surprising to see she isn't seeming paid. I wouldn't be surprised if she is though, or maybe she makes money other ways, or just has her animal friends help her with stuff she needs. Thanks to Gone Airbourne for the awesome sig! The whole first part is the other mane 5 try to find what she's hiding and then (insert villain here) or discord will kidnap them and she'll have to get courage to save them. Lunetiz 4 October 4, 2013 Share October 4, 2013 I doubt Hasbro would hide the truth any longer and they may show it on Season 4...But from what I thought, I was to believe that Fluttershy was transfer to Cloudsdale "Flight School" which kind of look like a boot camp to me (so that means that they might have lived there) So it might make since if her parents lived far away and wanted to take Fluttershy to the best well known Pegasi School out there (seriously, I don't think there's another place other than Cloudsdale that is more well known) But they might have not shown because they don't either have the time or resources to visit, or perhaps they did visit when Fluttershy was not the main focus of the episode. At least that's my opinion, but I'm not sure what Hasbro would say about a family member that never showed, mentioned, or was in a flashback until that episode finally show or perhaps a pony that was there for a while but was never mention to be related until after a couple episodes.............. Twilight shipped her off to boarding school to tutor under Celestial (and no i didn't mean that kind ship so shut up). We see rainbows dad .... at a sporting event of sorts that's it. People presume apple jacks parents are dead. Pinkie dad is floating around some where, but she couldn't be more different from them. Nit Pick 247 November 23, 2014 Share November 23, 2014 My head canon is that Fluttershy's parents are super rich and classy like Aunt and Uncle Orange in Manehatten. They tried to make Flutters into a proper Mare like them. Her Mom talks a lot and doesn't give Fluttershy a chance to speak, which is why she is shy. Her parents send her bits but she uses it to only buy the best feed for her animals and doesn't spend a cent on non-essential things for herself. I like to think if my head canon is true, upper class versus middle class jokes ensue the first time we see her rich parents. Whatever they decide to do in the show, I'll be happy with the outcome. I also vaguely recall a scene w them in a hot tub, but can't place it. Fluttershy's income In Filli Vanilli, Rarity's band (the Pony Tones) has a fund raiser for F's pet shelter, showing it to be a nonprofit charity. Also, I think she makes some money as a pet whisperer (Trade Ya seems to imply this) Missed the flashback w Dash's dad, thanks for pointing it out. I don't channel surf, but I do read & watch TV at the same time. Used to drive my dad nuts I've heard there is supposed to be a big Pie family reunion in season 5. Wind Chaser 4,768 February 10, 2016 Share February 10, 2016 I think it's been implied to be a Pegasus thing, considering Scootaloo also has no known family and Rainbow Dash's family was only shown in flashback, but it's mainly a constant for this show considering parents are rarely around to begin with and are heavily implied dead in Applejack's case. There was a rumor that an episode in Season 5 was supposed to include Fluttershy's brother, but it never happened, so that remains up to speculation. Who knows, maybe we might meet a cousin, little sister/brother, parents, etc. Will they showcase the same level of kindness as Fluttershy, or will they be polar opposites just like what we saw with Maud and the rest of the Pies. If they can include communism in MLP, who's to say they can't bring a message to teach kids that not to judge other people because you never know why they are the way they are. Applejack: Granny Smith, Applebloom and a whole assortment of the apple family. Rarity: Her parents and Sweetie Belle her younger sister. Rainbow Dash: Her dad Pinkie Pie: Her family during her story on how she got her cutie mark. Fluttershy: Only one without any appearances or references. I kind of like it this way. Maybe she could of been an orphan? Maybe this is why she feels the need to take care of many woodland animals because the ones without homes reminds her of herself. And heck maybe she was raised by woodland animals and given their company while growing up? I has been mentioned by the writers Flutters has a brother, but he won't be appearing in S5, it wasn't said if he will appear in S6 or S7 . It's been shown that she grew up in Cloudsdale and literally fell out of it, and there's no evidence of her flying back up, but that is the only flashback we've seen of her. So maybe she does have parents but no longer lives with them, or she just doesn't. Oh never mind, until we see some evidence, we can never say for sure. Her mom and dad are nowhere to be found, nor are they mention or implied to have died. Fluttershy didn't just pop out of thin air. I've heard the talk about Fluttershy's brother, though. I mean, the time when she got her cutie mark, she was a filly, but also all alone, too. UPDATE: I stand corrected. Fluttershy's parents and brother are seen in the preview of the next episode of Season 6 (Flutter Brutter).
