Well, it was a well fought battle on both polls. Congratulations to Luna and Discord for the win. My vote was for Fluttershy, but it seems the Princess of the Night is not to be counted out so quickly.

 

Pinkie and Cadence have my vote for this one. If anybody left can knock out Luna on this side of the bracket, it's gonna be one of those two. Good luck to all contenders

I know I am probably backing the underdogs here but Sweetie Belle is best filly and Vinyl Scratch is tied with Octavia for my second favorite background pony. I mean how could you vote again this?

I realize this is needlessly nit-picky and entirely irrelevant, but... "trounces" does not do justice to how that round went between Luna and Fluttershy. "Survives" or "Outlasts" would have been a better word. That was the Rumble in the Jungle. The Thrilla in Manilla. Every bit as epic as AJ-Derpy. Had the voting ended an hour earlier or an hour later Flutters might have won. (She was up 49-48, until Luna got the last three votes.)

 

But I suppose that doesn't matter much... regardless, whether I'm ready to or not I must bid a fond yet sad farewell to my favoritest pony forever in this tournament. See ya around, Flutters... it won't be the same around here without you.

Pinkie Pie will likely breeze to the Final Four, and she is more than capable of beating Luna. Don't underestimate the power of the party cannon... biggest mistake anyone will ever make. 

 

Edit: I'd also say a narrow win over Derpy is a sign of STRENGTH, not weakness. But I could be wrong about that.

Well color me pleased as punch. If Pinkie actually won last year, then there's hope for somepony other than Luna. I am just shocked Luna eked out a victory off of FLUTTERSHY who has proven very popular on this particular message board. But hey, I'm joining the Pinkie bandwagon too. I'm pulling for somepony from the Mane Six to win this, and if it has to be Pinkie, so be it. Let's fire up the party cannons!

 

Sadly, it won't be Rarity or Fluttershy who would walk away with the prize. Only four of the Mane Six remain...

I and many others thought that Lyra didn't stand a chance in the most attractive pony tournament, but somehow all these Lyra fans appeared out of nowhere and were able to knock out half the mane 6 and win it. There are plenty of Luna fans and I am one of them but if it is between her and Applejack I will choose Applejack, Luna gets plenty of love but Applejack could use a bit more.

I haven’t felt like this since Hurricane Fluttershy lost in the last best episode tournament.  What do you all see in Luna anyway?!  She’s just a tease, a fantasty.  If she did something substantial, I can see voting for her.  To play the devil’s advocate for a moment, I do think she was responsible for the great power Shining Armor and Princess Cadance used against the Changelings.  Alone, the two of them were exhausted and didn’t have enough juice to turn a lightbulb on.  Yet out of nowhere comes this phenomenal surge of energy that sends the Changelings blasting off Team Rocket style.  All the love and wishful thinking in the world alone can’t do this.   Luna's all too knowing “Did I miss anything?” leads me to believe she was behind this.  If it is someday revealed this was her doing, it would make Fluttershy's loss a little more palatable.  But, unless this comes out in the open, this is just speculation. 

 

Oh well, the show must go on. This will be the first time I'm voting against a Mane 6 pony as I'm going with Sweetie Belle in this round. Sorry Flipturn, but I simply find Sweetie to be less annoying...especially with the way they ramped up Pinkie's hyperactivity in season 3. I also find Vinyl to be less annoying than Cadance. It's a darn shame that my votes in these match ups are based one who gets on my nerves the least.

Lol, this is why I wasn't considering Pinkie Pie a very serious contender for winning the tournament. She's struggling with Sweetie Belle, big time. I want Pinkie to win this round, but if Sweetie pulls an upset, I won't be bothered by it because I like her too. Plus, she's still enough of a main character, not some background nobody.

 

I'm kind of shocked to see how many people don't vote for the Mane Six characters. I guess random background characters with no personality are more exciting. And here I thought people loved the show for the depth of the characters. *Shrug*

Pinkie Pie and Vinyl Scratch get my votes.  Pinkie's absurdity caters directly to my sense of humor, and I'm not a huge CMC fan in general.  Vinyl gets my vote easily because she's the second-best musical background pony, as opposed to Cadance, who I honestly don't really care much for.  Her origins as an alicorn are confusing, and her character is just too... perfect, I guess is the word for it.  She's sort of just a bland slab of lovey-dovey goodness in my eyes.

I had to vote Pinkie Pie, even though I do love the Cutie Mark Crusaders. I just think it was a hard match to vote for.

 

But as for Vinyl vs. Cadence, Cadence was my vote.

In real March Madness, Syracuse took down Indiana, and I TOTALLY PREDICTED THAT! MY BRACKET IS LOOKING BETTER!

 

Anyways, here, I voted for Sweetie Belle and Cadence. Sweetie Belle is cuter and a waaay better singer than Pinkie Pie, and I love "A Canterlot Wedding" too much to not vote for Cadence, even if she was overused in Season 3. But then again, what wasn't done wrong in Season 3, besides the song "Babs Seed?"

Well, I'm happy that Luna beat Flutters only because they can't both be winners but it's a shame that Scoots didn't beat Discord.

 

For this one, I'm going to have to go with the ever adorable Sweetie over the mildly annoying Pinkie as well as Cadence over a background pony.

 

Have a feeling I'm going to be doubly disappointed here
