Pondering Pinkie Pie

I didn't say that. I said it was obvious she was lying. When a kid lies saying that the dog ate his homework, do you believe him? No, of course not, though he wants you to believe him, you don't. Same with Trixie.

What makes you think it'd be obvious that she lied? Either way, it appeared a large amount of the audience believed her story. I also don't see what point you're trying to make here.

That doesn't prove (or imply) to somepony that she's being manipulated, it could just be the power of the amulet surging through her, for all they know.

So - you're argument is almost entriely pointless, as your argument is that it's justified, which is not at all what I'm arguing.

I'm not sure what your point is, exactly, since you now agree with me that it was justified.

Only pony to slay an Ursa Major - yet no one knows her. Bizarre. My point is at the top of my head  that her lying shouldn't be a reason to put her in exile.

Unlikely - but fair enough.

Oh, I like bouncing opinions off of people, since mine are so biased. :3

Pinkie's remark to Trixie aside (be humanistic about this, she ain't perfect, just look at "Pinkamena")....The season finale is a beyond normal situation.  Everything is exaggerated extremely.  Though I must say when everyone yells Pinkie's name because she's back did make me smile a mile wide :D

However, aren't we missing the point here?  Isn't there something not right?

Such as....if their destinies were changed, how are they able to be friends in the first place?  If they "forgot" than the townponies won't remember Pinkie's role (as a cheer-'er-upper) for the town.  Changing their destinies is changing EVERYTHING about the Mane 6 and the writing team did not do that...all they changed was what they thought their "destinies" were, and nothing more.  It just doesn't add up story wise.  IF your whole destiny (what you do now or where you are in life now) was changed to something completely different (think the opposite of who you are and what you like) how in the wide wide world of Equestria can you have the same past that you always had, the same friends, memories, etc etc etc. with an entirely different outcome?!?!?!

She wasn't exiled, she was laughed out of anywhere she went with her magic show (due to everypony knowing about her being a liar about the ursa major), so she had to give up the magic show job and resort to a rock farm job.

Which is exile, due to her talent being magic, and therefore the only way to make a good living for her was no longer valid. She's even unable to show her face around other ponies who know about her - therefore all ponies in Equestria. Which is exile.

Well I'm not sure i'd say shes the glue to the town, shes just a happy influence to the town and very optimistic and also one of the main forms of entertainment for the town aswell.

I think the reason why they all decided to descend into a big depressive angerful mood when Pinkie left is due to many things. First of all its because the weather was going crazy, Rarity wasn't working her shop, and Pinkie wasn't there either. Now just because Pinkie wasn't there wasn't necessarily the problem, I think that it contributed but not just because Oh Pinkies not there so everyone is depressed and angry, its more like they're all sad and angry that shes gone and they have all this other chaos everywhere.

Not to mention shes a big part of Ponyville being friends with everypony and being a main source of entertainment. But thats not to say the town would just go totally crazy without her, they just might not be as optimistic without her.

So while she does brighten up the moods of everypony, she isn't the glue to the town in my eyes.

If I could interject for a moment.

During the last Trixie Episode, I was really, really hoping that Pinkie, or at least one of the main six (Fluttershy?) would be a little bit forgiving of Trixie. I didn't like seeing Pinkie angry, or not trying to be a pony's friend. For a good example of good Pinkie, look to the Gilda episode, Pinkie's response to a mean, thieving, bullying predator showing up? Throwing that bullyParty to try and make them a better person. That's the kind of optimistic, happy attitude I like Pinkie best for. She didn't display any of it in the Trixie episode episode, and for that I was really, really disappointed.

She brought it on herself, her plight.  And with the Alicorn Amulet, she took her arrogance to new heights.  This episode proved she did not learn anything, even at the cost of her career.  It wasn't the Mane 6's fault (if anypony can be blamed, its Snips and Snails for their understandable stupidity).  She basically exiled herself all because she let her arrogance get the best of her.

She's a narcissist to the T.  What Pinkie said was not only justified, but trying to put Trixie in her place.  A rock farm is a silly job, very unimportant, and to point out the fact that Trixie wasn't even good enough for that shows that Pinkie Pie has dignity despite her past.  She was sticking up for her friends and herself. You can't blame her for saying what she said towards Trixie, because all in all Trixie was a jerk that started with a B and ended with an H. Trixie was no bully, she was far worse, and unlike Gilda, Trixie gave no room for friendship right from the start.  Gilda didn't like Pinkie, but didn't outright blow her away until she got annoying to Gilda.  Trixie was mean from the start, bragging right from the beginning.

Exile would mean she was no longer allowed in any equestrian civilization. That was not the case, she could very well still go to any city in Equestria, she just got laughed at if she did. That's not exile.

ex·ile

/ˈegzīl/
Noun
The state of being barred from one's native country, typically for political or punitive reasons.

Verb
Expel and bar (someone) from their native country, typically for political or punitive reasons.

Unless you want to argue that she may have well have been exiled since the mockery she'd receive in any town was too unbearable for her to tolerate, so that she'd have to leave just get away from it. Even then, nopony made anypony else start mocking her, so you can't blame anypony.

Being laughed at everywhere you go in a country, is most definitely punishment for something. Which is what punitive means, so yea.

They're not irritable, grumpy and rude they're just real. Being a salesman requires you to be edgy and risky so I did see how that plot device worked with that episode. Trixie deserved all the hate she was going to get. I'm surprised they didn't throw rotten tomatoes at her.

She wasn't "sentenced" to be mocked by everypony in Equestria, if that's what you're saying. She was being mocked for being a phony.

I never said that. I said she was/is being mocked. It doesn't matter either way, as it can still be considered as being in exilee.
