Something You Have In Common With Your Least Favorite Mane 6 Pony

I want to first state that I don't hate or dislike any mane 6 character, there are things I like about each of them but there are some I like more than others. I even made a thread asking everyone to say something nice about their least favorite mane 6 character which you can find here

With that said many of us have a few things in common with our favorite mane 6 character, some of us quite a bit but what about the least favorite Mane 6 character? In my case that is Rarity, I am not really into fashion but like her I do have a strong creative side. Since I was in the fourth grade I have wanted to be a writer and have written quite a few stories, some of them good some of them not so good but I improved my skills along the way to where I think I am a fairly respectable writer.

 

When I was 12 I discovered my talent for music when with no prior training or knowledge I simply sat down and starting playing this keyboard and composed my first song. Shortly afterwords I started taking lessons and my skills grew very quickly to where in a few years I was able to play advanced songs that took most people years to master. I joined the jazz band in high school as a piano player which caused my skills to grow even faster as I was made to play some particularly challenging yet extremely enjoyable songs and got to perform a few solos at concerts which nurtured my creativity.

 

I also am a fairly hard worker, sure Rarity is not as well known for this as Applejack but as the son of a former restaurant owner I can say firsthand that running a business is a lot of work. And there is a great deal of evidence in the show to back this up, Rarity is often shown having to follow strict deadlines to meet the needs of her clients and in one case even had to pull an all nighter. Because I sometimes push myself a bit harder than I should I have gotten 3 knee injuries on the job in a years time, you folks ought to see how beat up my knee pads get. I even had the straps on my first pair of knee pads snap off when I was in the middle of breaking down a milk load one time.

Hmmm....uhhh....now that I think about it, I do not think I have anything in common with Applejack. She is a hard worker (I am not), social (I am not), athletic (I am not)....Wow, I am boring.

 

Well...perhaps it could be we both appreciate the little things in life, maybe. She seems like the type of pony to do that a lot.

Well I cannot say that I have a least favorite, because for the most part I love them all equally. However AJ is the last pick so...

 

Things I have in common with AJ:

 

-We're both head strong.

-Not afraid to get dirty.

-I normally try to be honest.

Yes and that is one of the things that made Applejack my favorite actually, it doesn't really take much to make her happy at all and I also like that about Pinkie Pie.

Wait is Pinkie Pie your least favorite? aww that is not very good at all. I know that it is just your own opinion  but I love how she is always positive (a trait that I wish I had more often). I also love how she can defy physics.

No, Pinkie Pie is actually my 3rd favorite because she makes me laugh, I like her positive attitude and she reminds me of my Dad. It is actually Rarity that is my least, I like her just not as much as the other mane 6 characters.

 

My list goes something like this

 

1.Applejack/Twilight Sparkle

2. Rainbow Dash

3. Pinkie Pie

4. Fluttershy

5. Rarity

Well, the similarity I have with my least favourite character, is... Hyperactivity. Though sometimes I can handle it and transfer all that energy into my psychological capacities, I tend to be overwhelmed by that desire to run, jump across something, walk stairs up and down, whatsoever.

 

Well, still I have no other similarity to Pinkie Pie... I believe. Atleast there's one thing we have in common. And good it is for being just one. I wouldn't like to be Pinkie Pie at all...

I love all the Mane6, and see bits-n-pieces of each of them in me and in all my closest friends.

 

It's a hard choice, but I'd say that the one I am least like would have to be Rainbow Dash -- though I do very much like and admire her.

 

*heh* The part of me I see in her that I have a hard time with is her occasional show-off-ish-ness.   *blush*

 

I've lived my life so much like Twilight that I've done a great many things, and I _usually_ downplay these things 'cause I just love learning and doing and it's just a part of me that's not any better than anyone else's parts of themselves... but sometimes I do find myself talking about them when I want to illustrate that I've got experience in some area or another....

 

...And then I worry that I'm being too much like RD in "Mysterious Mare-Do-Well"... :/

 

But no, I really do like her and empathize with her a lot.  (I just feel more similar to the other 5. )

Twilight and I are both pretty well-read, we have ingrained needs to please the people that we respect and look up to, we have tendencies to get in over our heads and think that everything will go wrong if we make the slightest mistake and we both can feel like the straight man in our group of friends even when we're not the sanest of people either.

I really have nothing in common with my least favorite, Rainbow Dash, so I'll have to resort to #2 (or is it #5?) - Fluttershy.

I am such the soft spoken doormat who likes to avoid confrontation at all costs.  Unfortunately, my managers take advantage of this and sometimes I work hours that I really don't want to.  I am very often afraid to stand up for myself, and while I'm not a small guy (5'10, 230 lbs) I really do exude a nonthreatening presence.  Man, if only I had her stare...

I stated this elsewhere, but I'd like to point out that Rarity is only my least favorite by default, not because I dislike her at all.

 

Well, anyway, I think we can both be a bit stubborn. That can mean good things (never giving up) or bad things (getting into arguments.) People have called me whiny before. I don't think I am, but that's what people have said. Rarity and I also have large vocabularies which we utilize to their full extents and prefer to speak in proper English. We also have a habit of littering our conversations with foreign words. However, Rarity tends to use a lot of random French, I'm assuming, to seem posh or stylish, whereas I insert a lot of Japanese because I can't remember the English word (or there isn't one.)

Mmm... Hard choice, but I suppose my least favorite Mane 6 is RD...

 

I am fairly athletic, and people tell me I am quick on my feet. I have a severe obsession with speed (hence, an obsession with cars, skiing, and basically anything else that involves a lot of speed). Everything is about going faster, turning sharper, etc. Heck, even my field, electrical engineering, is about things that move very fast (electricity... well.. sort of... the net velocity of an electron traveling down a wire, also called the drift velocity, is actually pretty slow...)

For the time being, my least favorite is Pinkie Pie.  I say "for the time being" because, yes, I am considering revising my 1-6 favorites list!  Well, it'll actually be 4-6, as Fluttershy, RD, and AJ are firmly set as my top three. 

 

Anyway, Pinkie Pie and I both like to joke around with and kid the people we know.  I can come up with some of the fastest comebacks and puns.  It was a skill I developed as a kid in school.  If somebody threw an insult at me, I was able to respond in kind, usually in a matter of seconds.  Of course, I don't trade insults any longer, but my ability to come up with humor very quickly stayed with me. 

 

I can't cook, but Pinkie and I both love to eat sweets, so I guess that counts for something too. 

 

Finally, I want to thank EBP for starting this thread and others like it.  You have some clever ideas there, pal.

I would have to say that what I have in common with AJ would be a strong connection to my family.  Even though we don't see eye to eye at times, and my father and I don't get along at all, we still care for one another.  That and I am a southerner, though not country which I tend to associate with AJ rather than true southern.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that Twilight hated people or ponies in this case, she just didn't see socializing or making friends as a priority at first. It is a bit sad to hate people, but I went through a stage like that in my life so I can understand where you are coming from. There are plenty of jackasses but remember that there are plenty of nice people too, you just don't hear about them very much.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that Applejack is in the background but she did get upstaged quite a bit in season 2 but made her strongest showing yet in season 3 and not just in the episodes focusing on her which has earned her a bit more love in the fandom which makes this Applejack fan very happy.
