if you want to find out the value of any currency, just type in "x y to z" in Google, where x is the amount of currency you want calculated, y the currency it's going to convert from, and z is the currency it will convert to. so in this case, 200 pounds to usd (american currency) equals to ~320 dollars.

I know; my confusion came from something else: an online purchase was my first guess too, but I thought that the sites of online purchasing are translating the price in the local currency of the buyer's country; meaning that, say, if someone from the US buys something from the UK, I thought that the price would have been translated in dollars so that the buyer knows exactly how much the stuff is worth; at least, that was what I thought

He's also just not the kind of person to do anything else but say sorry.

I've never really liked him. I didn't want him to touch my stuff. He pretty much stole them from me for a few minutes.

I very rarely break my own things. My laptop is probably the only recent (recent meaning about 2 years) case. Yet I get scolded as if I don't take care of my things.

I'm really just in the mood to rant. 

 

 

well, I know that the items were most probably worth a lot to you and I personally know the feeling one has when something of value is lost; the only words of comfort I can think of is that, at least you're on the forum now and your MLP friends are here to support you through your hard times

Well that's freaking terrible. I had a friend who owed me about $180, and he never paid me back. He recently tried to get in contact with me again, and I just severed all connections with him.

 

Any chance you can take this issue up with his parents?

I'm not even going to bother. His mother is insane. 

 

I'm actually not all that mad at him. I'm more upset at my guardians, to be honest, because they treat me as if it's my fault entirely. I explain that he pretty much snatched them, yet they still shake their head and say, "You can't take care of anything of yours, can you...?"

To be honest, I've never hated anyone more than those I live with and my mother.

well, in that case, there are two alternatives:

 

1: you can get your friend to admit his mistake to the people you live with; assure him that nothing's gonna happen to him and that you just need him to clarify a misunderstanding;

 

2: if that doesn't work, all I can recommend is that, from now on, whenever you purchase something really valuable, put that stuff away and lock it up like your life depends on it; you can get a fresh new set of keys to your room and only you would have access to it; and if the folks you live with confront you about it, tell them that, from now on, this is your way of taking care of your stuff, and that nobody else is allowed in there until the end of time; tell them "you said I couldn't take care of anything of mine, didn't you? you said that I was irresponsible, didn't you? well, now I'm actually doing something about it, but I'm doing it my way, and if you don't like it, I can't help it!"

 

otherwise, the exact same thing may happen again and again... well, this is pretty much all I can say about it
