Introvert or extrovert?

I guess I'm an introvert for the most part. When I'm around people I don't know all that well or who don't share interests with me I tend to be quiet and reserved. But when I'm with my close friends (I only have a few) I come out of my shell. I do things like laugh out loud at things I think about and sing along to songs. In comfortable settings I am more inclined to tell people what's on my mind, even when its something completely insane.

Alright guys I think you should know what kind of personality I have too. I'm a mix of both an extravert and an introvert though I've been more extraverted lately. I don't know, it just seems that after being introduced to MLP, I feel like talking a lot more than usual. I'm typically quiet around strangers but that's mainly due to the fact that we probably can't start an interesting conversation. Haha

 

I used to be extremely introverted. I still am but I've started to come out of it a bit.

 

I used to be really introverted as well. I had friends but I would only open up a lot to close friends. Now I can open up to anybody, though.

Lean toward introvert, but with streaks of being an extrovert. If I'm socially active for an extended period, I need some "cool down" time afterwards where I can just relax and be by myself. I tend to hover toward the periphery when I'm with a large group; I fair better with smaller groups.Therefore, I probably fall within the range of Twilight who, while given to being an academic recluse, is not socially isolated.

I might like alone time but i tend to be near the center if not the center of attention. I'd rather make friends with everypony even i our views aren't the same. I really REALLY hate being anything less then best, i will constantly try to outdo my competitors is anyway i see fit. i don't care for cheaters and cheating. i tend to stay calm but when i start my friends say i get really mad, like blind fury! but im rahating, um i try to be as kind as possible and be a great leader by example. that sums it up!

 

Isn't it a tad arrogant to say that you "tend to be the center of attention," dude? I don't know about anyone else but such an approach to, like, social relations is a total turn off. That's not even vanity as much as it is presumptuous and inconsiderate of what others have to offer to a conversation. Furthermore, not everything a competition and constantly trying to outdo what one perceives as "competitors" only suggests that you don't know how to take a loss and won't relent until you get what you see as your proverbial "pound of flesh."

 

I understand that you might try to be as "kind as possible" but the realm of possibility is quite subjective when you let fury overtake you, fancy yourself higher than others in social contexts and relentlessly compete with people. I don't mean to play devil's advocate here but that's what I derived from your post. Simply offering some C&C since you certainly seem to... try.

I understand that you may not believe in the Helocentric theory, but we have the same feels.Being friends with everypony, and being able to look through all my visions makes me a grate person. I hate being less then best to; life is worse when you being at less than go to best. Doing the competitors out is the best part of leaf.Cheaters and cheating is the worst part of leaf, and I hope you do the out to! I cen be calm to but i always get blind when I start my friends up to. I rehat alot to, I are kind and help example by being a good leader, to.

I'm probably about as introverted as Twilight, after she discovers the wonder of friendship. I enjoy my time with people, especially my close friends, but I "recharge my batteries" alone.

 

I don't know how many of you know what it means to be extraverted or introverted... it's not like extraverted = talkative and introverted = shy. Those are different altogether. Extraversion and introversion have to do with where you get your energy from. Do you get your energy from being with people, or do you get it from being by yourself?

 

I have a funny story that proves my own introversion. Every year my extended family takes a vacation to a private little resort with cabins on a beach in northern Michigan. I love this vacation because it is very quiet, family-oriented, and I get pretty much all the alone time I want. However, I found that I was spending too much time alone and all of a sudden, I felt extremely antsy. I needed to spend my energy and socialize. That never happens in my day-to-day life because my life at home requires me to socialize with people. When I wasn't required to socialize, I was bottling up all this energy that I basically created by being by myself for extended periods of time.

 

Of the mane 6, I think that Twilight and Fluttershy are the only introverts. I think both of them use energy on a regular basis by talking to Spike/spending time with the animals. But they also make time for their friends.

I'm quite solitary. If a friend needs help, I will definitely do my best, but in general, I'm shy around strangers.

So...intravert by nature, extravert around friends.

ok let me Rebuttal everyone one of your critques so i'm not veiwed as the Divel's Alicorn. ahem!

Arrogance? to say "i'm never" is a lie and i don't lie on purpose. when i say i tend i mean my behavior catches the attention of my classmates and companions and i'm thrusted into the center of attention regardless of my will. and i also tend to hang around people at the top because of my self-status problems. my social relations as of currently are of the best of the year with lots of god friends to help when need be.Vanity however is my worst Trait, if you've seen my profile in which i mention "Worst trait?:Vanity". and when you say everything isn't a competition. i swear i've heard that from so many people it gets on my nerves OFCOURSE! not everything is a competition, some are, some are skirmishes some are just silent rivalries and some aren't anything. and when you in your words "is constantly trying to outdo what one perceives as "competitors" only suggests that you don't know how to take a loss" that statement isn't cmepletely true and isn't completely false either. i don't like lossing but i've learned to grit my teeth and if i really care you'll know. i try to be number 1 because it runs in the family and in my profession where 2nd best gets you no where. and what do you mean by "

I also dislike confrontation, so I try to keep any relation I have with anyone amicable to some degree. The next part is where I deviate: I used to be a perfectionist, but I learned it's just not feasible to apply this to competitive things. Generally I do my best, but accept if it falls short of other people's best. Also, I do tend to be influenced emotionally by others around me, but I try to keep things as level as possible. I don't consider myself a leader, but I have been told I'd be a good one...*shrugs*

i actually prefer confrontation so i can get it over with but i also used to be a perfectionist but i wasn't very fast in my work so that backlashed and i feel you i can get beat by peer presure but only if its like a reasonable dare or something

Introvert. I keep to myself, and am very difficult to befriend as I often resist efforts to do so and stay away from people in general. My anxiety and cautiousness keeps me to myself, but I can also be rather extroverted on the internet in certain places where I just let everything loose.

 

Although I am very generally an introvert. Just because I am one though, doesn't mean I don't like to have fun sometimes and dance and be loud and crazy, which I can be... but only around people I am extremely comfortable with. I avoid large groups, and go quiet in conversations that have more than two people, generally.

I have 3 or 4 friends that I'll sometimes talk to, and everpony else, I basically never talk to them. I get stressed whenever I'm around others, even if they're not looking at me or talking to me. It's not that I particularly like being alone, I just don't like being with others. But on the interwebz, I'm rather outgoing.

As earlier today, at school someone asked me in class: "Why are you so quiet?". That lead into the teacher criticising the asker's loud personality. What a fun day, exam in the morning and intrusive interrogation in the afternoon.

 

But I'm a lot more outgoing when with my friends.
