Least Favorite Cars?

Rolls Royce

Recommended Posts

There have been threads on here about your favorite cars, so how about one about cars you just hate.  I love a lot of cars, so it takes something big for me to hate one.  The two cars I hate the most are the Toyota Corolla and the Cadillac Cimarron.  The Corolla, I've just had bad experiences with them on the roads, I've just never liked them.  Now the Cadillac Cimarron, made from 1982-1987.  Way to butcher the name of the best car company ever General Motors.  They just took a Chevy Cavalier, added some standard features, and slapped Cadillac badges on it.  This is also the most insulting car in the world for me, because I love Cadillac with a passion, and this is missing everything that makes a Cadillac a Cadillac.  It has a 4 cylinder engine, the first in 70 years, the option for a 4 speed manual transmission, and it's tiny and has no styling.  I mean, just look at this thing, it's a disgrace to the Cadillac name.

Two I can think of:

1. The Chrysler PT Cruiser. I was okay with the concept. I thought it was ugly, but I was like, "Hey - at least they tried." Then I drove one. It took me around an hour to get to 60MPH, and I'm pretty sure the plastics they used on the dash are the same ones they use to make those things that keep pizza box lids from smashing the pizza.

2. The 2002-2005 Ford Thunderbird. Sit inside, and it looks like you're in a Taurus. Punch the gas, and the motor goes meh. If you're going to dookie, please don't dookie all over an icon...

For me, it's anything that looks like a box on wheels.

Also, anything that a car manufacturer "tests the waters" with. Some examples of overall cars I hate! = (for biased reasons though, as I believe most cars should have some sportiness or aesthetically pleasing looks to them).

01_2010_toyota_prius_realorrender_opte.jToyota Prius

They try to market this car as being eco-friendly (that's about all they could even try to work with, because its not for those looking for exterior styling and interior comfort). However, the batteries to manufacture the Prius (that is, the battery manufacturing itself) emit more carbon emissions into the atmosphere than an average used car will within 10 years. (If I find the sources for verification, I will post them up!).

There are more, but the Prius is top for me :)

But Toyota has done amazing things as well, such as the Toyota Supra and recent development of the Scion FR-S (Subaru BRZ) although I think the next model needs more power than 200HP!

Personally, I am a Honda fan! But I never got into cars such as the Honda Fit.

1979-1993 Ford Mustang, IMO that was more of a hatchback, not a muscle car.

Nissan Juke, god what an ugly car, same with the leaf and the majority of cars made by Nissan.

I am not a big fan of the new Malibu.

The Chevy Cavelier probably is my least liked car. It's not all that ugly, but when trying to drive it, it takes forever to get up to speed and it's a little louder than a Prius. Exterior is fine, but the interior is extremely cheap and uncomfortable.

They said something about this car on Top Gear that just made me burst out laughing.  It does more damage to the environment than a Land Rover Discovery does in it's lifetime.  It's because of the way they make it, they get it's parts from all over the world, assemble it in Japan, and then ship it all over the world again.  I always say, "Save the environment, buy a Lincoln Navigator."

I'm really not very opinionated on cars. As long as it works just fine and has great air-conditioning, it's perfect by my standards. Although those box cars really don't do it for me.

I have heard that the Dodge Raider is little more than a rectangle of metal on wheels. It has absolutely no style, and is just in general no good.

Reliant Scimitar ss1 (Reliant famous for silly three wheelers did do 4 wheeled cars, they built a fantastic looking estate-coupe crossover in the 70s called the Scimitar GTE. Then in the 80s they ruined the Scimitar name and made a new car which was a two seater sports car which was the Scimitar ss1 and it was so hideously UGLY!!!!

Why anyone would choose that over something like an MX5 is beyond me

I never really liked the Chrysler 300, or the Dodge Charger, I always thought they looked like herses. I don't really know where the irrational dislike of them came from.

Seriously? In all the forums on the internet, you're going to put down a generation of Pony Cars in this one?

(Kidding - I agree with you.)

I'm not gonna lie, I like that IMMENSELY more than an MX-5.

Now, as for my cars...

Cadillac Catera, Pontiac Aztek, pre-2004 Honda Civics, post-1992 Toyota Supras, 1979-1992 VW Vanagon (they took the VW Bus and killed it mercilessly).

I have some, though bear in mind that this is mostly hearsay as I am not a car journalist and therefore have not gotten an opportunity to drive these myself.

The corolla for being simply boring, sure it is practical but from what I heard, that is really the only plus to owning one, I would prefer something more and personally don't mind losing some of that if it makes it more fun or awesome.

Most electric cars because from what I heard they are not that fun either and that their recharge time makes them impractical (you can only go so many miles then it can take anywhere from 12-16 hours to recharge). Also they cost so much that one would wonder why you could have, say, a Fisker (not to say it isn't a cool car mind you) when for the same price (about 99k to 100k) I can get a Nissan GT-R or for about half the price I can get a Shelby GT500 or BMW M3 (both of which seriously outperform it).

That is what I have at the moment, I might have more later.

This one is so easy. PT Cruisers are easily the cars I hate most. Actually, I really dislike Chrysler in general but I really wish I could erase PT Cruisers from history. Luckily, I hardly ever see them anymore. Actually, I really hate Prowlers too but I've only ever seen one on the road once. Just the thought of it gives me chills.

All that said, my opinion on cars is worthless because I don't even drive.

If you see this image, you will probably disagree with me to the max.

As you can see, in front of you is a Ferrari 360 Modena. That my friend is a car I really despise, and in fact most Ferrari's I do too.

Some reasons why I don't like them, is that they have a tendency to lie about their top speed. One of the Ferrari's showed on a speedometer that it was doing 200, when on a better measurement it was doing about 170. And 170 to me for a supercar is kinda lame.

The second thing would be is that they've grown bland the more I look at the newer models. For some reason to me, all of them look fairly similar, and with the red color it's just too common.

The third thing would be, I just generally hate the way their V12's sound like.

So after reading all this, feel free to comment, brohoof, or hate me~

Well I don't think you could though, unless you still love and tolerate everyone's opionions wink.png

A Barney Purple PT Cruiser was my daily driver. Had a sunroof and a 5 speed manual. Wasn't a bad car, as a car. She's parked right now, got a massive oil leak out the passenger's side of the engine, but it's not a bad car.

Don't ever change the timing belt, water pump, or anything on your own. Gotta drop the engine out the bottom to do it.

I'm not sure if I can call this sorry excuse of a diesel engine a car wacko.png

It's a public transport, you may say it's almost like a cheap knock-off of a taxi. Slow as all hell, the driver loves to swerve around the tightest corner like it's the Fast and Furious movie, would break down at the most inconvenient times, and the poor engine sounds like there is a mauled bear trapped inside it. I've had more than enough experience being  carried around inside them, never again...

The Classic Smart. I hate this one not only because its so damn small. It also is frickin annoying how little of a space the trunk offers.

But theres something worse :Mein_Smart003.jpg

The smart Cabrio. Yeah, why not take something that offers not much space to begin with and cut if in almost half

Hands down, Chryslers PT Cruiser. I had the "pleasure" of taking one out for a spin. The steering column and related mechanisms felt like they were made out of cheap plastic and weak rubber bands. Maybe it was just the one I tried, but it was relatively new, think it was an 05. Regardless, Im not a fan of the style, but a lot of people seem to like them just fine as I see them on the road quite often.

A thread where we can tell other Bronys the cars we hate? Oh, this might become a favorite of mine.

Okay, I'll tell you all my least favorite.

Smart cars.

Yes, that's right. Smart cars.

The only reason for their existence is to become smaller, and smaller, and smaller over the years in order to annoy people, the gimick of being fuel efficient being the only reason for their constant selling and popularity. They're even worse than that Japanese iCar thing, which was basically a smart-car with a trunk.

I've ridden in one, and personally, it did not feel good. It's like riding a Hybrid which uses Diesel. It just doesn't feel right.

Smart cars, long boat-like Cadillac cars, anything electric, SUVs and whatever you call those things that look like they're both car and SUV, I don't know what you'd call those...hybrids maybe? Whatever they are they're ugly as heck, especially the ones nowadays cause they all look the same :yeahno:, and finally, the end all be all of cars I can't stand...the Toyota Prius. :scoots:

Don't shoot me, but I actually like the Prius. I used to think it was a dumb car, but then my parents got a used one, and it's actually a pretty decent car. You can barely see anything through the rear view mirror, but other than that, it's great.

I've never liked how Mustangs looked. Maybe I'm just biased against Ford, but Camaros and Corvettes are much better imo. Mustangs just don't look good.

And finally, the Nissan Cube. It's hideous.

I don't hate many cars, but I have a love/hate thing with one or two. I love the looks of Jeep Cherokees and had one for a short while. It was solar yellow and very nice looking, but unfortunately it wasn't a great vehicle for driving. Lots of problems.

I used to hate the looks of the Nissan Cube. But then I had one as a rental car on vacation and it was so fun to drive that I fell in love with the silly thing. Now they're among my favorites. So it's complicated but I can't really say I hate any car completely. Maybe I'm just a tad fickle.
