So I was wondering what people would think if the CMC broke up in one episode? Not for the whole season, just for one episode. This came to me when I thought about all the times they have failed at getting their cutie marks. They tried backer, performers, news writers, sky divers, pet groomers, etc. They tried for so long it feels like at some point they should get mad at one another for all of these failed attempts. Now I'm not a huge CMC fan, but it could just be that they never got to mad at one another. When they fail it just an, ok this did not work, lets try something new. I'm sure a lot of us have been in projects with are friends and sometimes it works out and another times one friend does not do his/her work, or one did not bring this, or one did not finish anything up. This could be a really good lesson to teach.

I can see it happening in a few ways.

The first one is that they try and get their cutie marks in some kinda of way and it does not work out, so they start blaming each other for why it went wrong. Then they just mad at each other and none of them want to talk to each other. Then at the end they just make up. Not sure how the episode would play out, but it could teach that your friends can make you mad at times, but if life can also be hard with out friends. The lesson still needs work, but it just an idea.

The next one is Scootaloo is not showing up for any CMC meet up's to get their cutie mark because she is spending more time with Rainbow Dash. Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle understand at first, but when they see she is not gaining anything from her, like ways to get a cutie mark they get mad at her and just leave her out. So an episode that kinda has a backfire to the Scootaloo and Rainbow Dash sister thing.

The last one is kinda the weakest one I came up with. The CMC try and get their cutie marks by doing something a little to dangerous and they end up getting really hurt. Then the parents think that they should stop doing CMC activities together. They still try and meet up, but the parents just get more mad at them. This episode is more being don't be so overprotective of your kids. That they should choose who their friends should be.

Some of the ideas I have aren't worked out all the way, but are just ideas to get things going. So what do you all think if there was a CMC break up episode?

What about if one of them finds their cutie mark? They won't be able to be a crusader any more, so that would lead to them getting thrown out of the CMC, and then stuff would happen. Granted, that it's not the most likely thing ever, but still...

Actually, that last one is really strong to me because it actually sets it apart as being a completely new moral that is directed toward parents rather than toward anybody.

Regardless, I actually really like the idea of an episode centered around this happening. I don't have any particular ideas in mind of how it would go down, but I think the three you provided are thought-provoking enough. Like I said, I really like the parent one a lot.

A CMC breakup episode sounds like a great idea. Most CMC episodes have focused on the trio's conflict with external foes, including bullies like Diamond Tiara and Babs Seed. An episode centering on the internal conflict within the CMC would be excellent. After all, what friends haven't gone through fights? It's a great way for the Crusaders to understand each other better. A friendship that survives a breakup will emerge stronger. Truly, if the CMC can survive the internal forces that fell empires, then their bond will become stronger than ever. It would be a great lesson for the target audience, as well as a nice story for older viewers like bronies. The lesson will be relevant for viewers of all ages.

Yeah, I'd like to see an episode like that.

Me too a CMC breaking up episode is the perfect way to display that friends do get into fights but they can still be friends no matter what.

Sounds like a really good Idea would be really interesting to see if the Cutie Mark Crusaders would get the their marks of there own accord of course I'd like to see them reunited again though :).

I think that a good one would be if one of them got their cutie mark before the others. At first they would all be exited but then the others would end up feeling jealous or upset that they didn't get theirs. after a whole episode of fighting they would realize that they miss their friends and try to make up. I think that an episode like this would be the best thing ever and the lesson could be to feel happy for your friends when something good happens to them instead of being jealous. I think that it would be the best lesson in the show to date.

I think that would be an excellent episode, although I would be sad for the duration of the episode because the CMC are my favorite 3 characters.

I think that would be one of my favorite episodes. In my opinion, my favorites are the ones that are focused on the CMC. I'd be sad when I see it, but strangely I like shows that make me emotional, if you know what I mean.

What I think would happen is Scootaloo would get hers then they she would think that being a blank flank was lame and would join Diamond Tiara and kinda end up like Babs Seed in the apple family.

I think the only time they will have a breakup episode is if one of them gets their cutie mark or leaving the Cutie Mark Crusaders to join with Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon. It wouldn't happen, but it might.

I know that the one everyone wants to see is one of the CMC getting their cutie mark and just being more accepted into groups because they aren't blank flanks anymore. But like I said, it seems the CMC just brush off their failures as nothing much and just go on and try a different way of getting their cutie marks. I would like to see them blame one another for something going wrong. Kinda of a test of friendship episode. One getting their cutie mark just sounds like one being accepted into a group then them fighting over something. Still the one where one gets a cutie mark is still good.

I could see this happening in an episode.  Having the three of them get into a large fight over something silly, then realizing how much they all need each other or something.  I think this would make a really good episode.

This is a good idea, but haven't we seen this already?

In The Sisterhooves Social Sweetie Belle and Rarity got made at each other and "broke up" from being sisters, just like the CMC would "brake up" from being the group. Of course in the end they got back together, which is exactly what you described in this scenario. And I think they already learned this lesson, just with family instead of friends laugh.png

True, I guesses Sisterhooves Social and the first idea I came up with are very similar and may have a similar lessons at the end. But I think that episode was more Sweetie Bell wanted to be helpful, but kept getting in the way and Rarity not noticing. What I want is for them to really fight each other for all the times that they messed up on getting their cutie marks and being to blame each other. Still maybe this one is to similar, but I would still like to see the first one.

Personally I think these ideas are great! It would make an amazing episodes. Hmm I like all the ideas but I think number 1 would work the best out of the 3, it seems the most likely thing to happen! So yeah; great ideas keep it up!

Well the only reason why I don't like the last one so much is because it would not be an episode where the CMC broke up on their own, but of family. Also it's hard to see Applejack and Rarity or her parents being against the CMC being friends. Seeing as AJ was usually the one who supported the CMC. That why I don't like that one so much.

Still would like one where they are angry at each other.

It could work, but I just find that moral interesting because I don't think there's been a moral like it, save for the one from "Sisterhooves Social" which I guess would be the closest to it.

Regardless, I agree that that one would be hard to pull off. The Cutie Mark Crusaders breaking up because of some internal conflict would be more interesting, I suppose.

It would have to be Rarity and Applejack.  The problem is that I don't know if AJ would do that.  She does things that put her at risk of physical injury on a daily basis.  So it wouldn't necessarily make sense for her to suddenly act like that, especially since the CMCs fall out of trees and wipe out all the time, unless they REALLY get injured, and I don't know how far the show could really go to portray that.

Rarity might do that, but I could see Sweetie Belle driving her absolutely insane if she put her under house arrest or something.

Not too sure about Scootaloo, but it would be a good opportunity to introduce her parents or guardians (whichever she has).

An episode like this hasn't been done before so I'd say it's more than likely we'll see something like this in season 4, and I hope so too because I love the CMC.

  • 4 weeks later...

The CMC temporarily breaking up seems like a really good idea, but I doubt the episode with the parents would go too well. They would probably just bring in the sisters and maybe RD for Scootaloo, or just not do it at all.

The one where Scoot hangs out with RD 24/7 is a good idea though, and I can totally see that happening.
