Best (and Worst) Pony Merch

From what I hear, the ones at build-a-bear are awful, however, there is rumor a nicer, and cheaper one is coming to America.

 

I've heard rumors both hating and loving the new Build-A-Bear Plushies. I personally think the shape and figure is cute, and rather accurate, but the "mane" is what kills it for me. Such cheap string! It's just whips of pink (or rainbow) threads stitched into the heads of the poor plushies. I wouldn't buy it, but it's not the worst thing I've ever seen. *Shudders*

 

Oh! And about the newer, cheaper one coming to America, I assume you are reffering to the one coming from Germany? I just read about that on another thread somewhere. They look 100000000000x better than any other brand-name plushie, and I heard they are going to be around 20$ or so. Seems too good to be true but hey, if they come around by next September we may have a new thread and some happy bronys around here

My favorite thing? hmm well I do really love my two Build a Bear plushes.

I also love my own plushes that I sewed . I also really like the Nightmare Moon figure, I have her perched on top of my castle. Also the handmade Zecora plush I bought off ebay. I dunno there are a lot I like

So exciting there will be MORE build a bear ponies in August!  Oh and the Aurora plushes even sooner!

 

The trading cards are okay. I mean I like a lot of different cards from other things, and I've bought some packs of the MLP trading cards but they don't catch my fancy.

 

I mostly like the figurines and the non mechanical plushes ( mechanical plushes aren't as huggable) Although I did buy the baby spike because he's a baby dragon! *swoons like fluttershy* , oh and I like the brushables.

That is a freaking insane collection of pony merchandise, my friend! So much pony... I don't think I'd know what to do with myself if I had that many of them!

 

It's funny, because so far it seems the cards are being talked down, but I personally love them and I have a binder full of them. Maybe it's just because I've always liked trading cards, but I just like buying packs and seeing if I can get a cool card to add to my collection. Plus, the descriptions on all of them are well written and funny, so I can't fault them for that either.

I'm kind of surprised that I'm not hyped up about the cards. I've got neopet cards,sailor moon cards, pokemon cards , planet cards, american girl cards......

I did buy the pinkie pie box. I did like the filly Rarity one I got and the flim flam brothers. I haven't bothered to put in them in card sheets yet though. I guess because I just like brushables and plushies more because you can do stuff with them. I got sucked into the blind bags when I got the gotta-catch-em bug. ( I now have completed (excluding exact repeats mostly ) US waves 1 ,3(purple shiny bags) 3 (light crystal bags), 4 (yellow princess bags) and 6 ( aqua/silver bags)

I'm hoping I'll see the nighttime set in stores again (one store had gotten up to yellow but right now they're not selling blind bags)

and i'm excited for the new wave to come out because it'll have Flim Flam and a lot of other specific characters (like granny smith)

Oh yeah, I completely understand the thing about the brushables and plushies, since you can get more use out of them rather than just putting them in a binder and admiring them. I really like the cards myself, but I can understand where you're coming from. And nice job completing so much of the blind bag sets, and I hope you can get what you want out of the new wave. I haven't been getting blind bags myself, but I did buy one a while back and got a random crystal pony out of it, whose name escapes me at the moment.

Wow, that's a big 'un! Adorable indeed, and I am a harsh critic of plushies Congrats to you, as well as the maker for a job well done. My plushies are tiny, standing ones being about 5" long and tall, and laying down 6.5" long. Maybe I should try making a super size sometime...

She was a costume-made plush from an artist on Etsy. She was 100$ and very good quality. I'm not going to post the artist's name until I receive her consent. I Know! That's exactly what I thought! As soon as she told me the price my jaw dropped. I could actually afford this plush?!?! Like, money out of my wallet?? Sure it wasn't 20 bucks, but hay, I've seen this quality plushies for over 400$ so I'm not complaining

Exactly why I'm so interested! I can't believe there's someone out there making great plushies for only one hundred bucks, so it's definitely worth looking into. Hello there my fellow pony-goers! How many of you out there buy pony merchandise? Whether it be custom-made or top brand quality, post your thoughts and pictures here! Also, let's discuss things that you would buy and things that don't look so appealing, and why they don't seem to tickle your fancy.

 

 

I personally LOVE plushies and I have one on the way right now! It is a custom plush of my OC, Kismet (link in signature) and she is currently in a box shipping to my doorstep. I'll be sure to post tons of pictures when she arrives home!

On the contrary, I'm not much of a "trading card" type person. Sure they are cool to look at, but not good for much else. It seems better to me to spend your money on something you can cuddle and take pictures with like your very own My Little Pony

Aw, that would suck really badly! I really want a Rainbow Dash plushie myself, and I frankly don't care what my friends would do if they saw it. Because it's freaking Rainbow Dash, sucka!

That leaves two options... don't let your friends come into your apartment, or hide the plush. Failure to acquire is not an option

 

And $100 for that plushie!? I have identified the maker... Rarity, the element of generosity I'd recommend throwing some more money at her if you can manage it And if not, lots of hugs. Because gratitude is payment enough for the artist's soul, provided they don't go hungry.

Haha, i'm sure they would find it somehow, they always do... But i digress, maybe one day when i quit window shopping i'll get a plushie and its sure to make my nights at least 20% more adorable.

If you have an Etsy account, she is Lil'Moon and her online etsy shop is called AiKawaiiShop (or something like that- I can't spell) She is absolutely amazing and a pleasure to work with. I got my plushie around 4 weeks after I placed the order. That includes the time it took to hand-make the plush! She is super quick and super nice. I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone, so go ahead and spread the word if you would like
