gaming What is the most recent video game you beat?

Oh geez, let me think... I've had such a short attention span as of late that I have began tons and tons of video games but not quite finished them.

It quite possibly was Assassin's Creed Valhalla last year, and even so that was the base game, not including the DLC. Or maybe Pokemon Scarlet, I can't remember which I beat first.

Beat MGS4 and it's still a lot to take in(even though it's a 15 year old game, I'll go head and put a spoiler warning)

Spoiler

- The gameplay itself is very good, and quite frankly Metal Gear has never played better up to the point this game came out. Unfortunately there's a reason people make fun of the game for "taking two steps before every cutscene", there's no exaggeration, a lot of the time it really comes off like that
- Most of the twists I find myself disliking, biggest one being the Ocelot twist with him hypnotizing himself to being Liquid. It's really dumb even in context to the game's universe, especially when you had a perfectly fine explanation with who his father is, speaking of which
- For better and for worse, everything is wrapped up entirely in this game. One of the more egregious examples is the whole "everything is done with Nanomachines" is a pretty poor explanation for all the weird stuff and characters happening throughout the series, especially when for the most part these were part of the series charm. Got to the point where the Nanomachines were meme'd to death by fans and even the series itself
- Last twist I had a problem with was the Patriots comprising of the original FOX team from MGS3. Barring Big Boss himself, I can't buy any of them going evil and doing the things they wound up doing(especially Para-Medic), especially when there was absolutely no sign or build up of this going forward
- Actually, you know what? Act 3 as a whole can get bent
- Honestly there's so many bad twists that the Johnny and Meryl falling in love and getting married doesn't even phase me. It's home to a lot of dumb moments, but in a charming way
- The Beauty and The Beast Corp are very not good as a boss team especially compared to Foxhound, Dead Cell, Desperado, even the Cobras are a lot better.
- On the other hand, Drebins amazing and Sunny is adorable
- The fanservice runs aplenty and most of it usually lands. Some of it's bad(the MGS3 FOX unit reveal, Naomi's death), but most of the time it's amazing(returning to Shadow Moses, the flashbacks, etc.)
- Act 4 for the most part is amazing
- Even if the B&B themselves as characters aren't great, the boss fights including them are every good, REX vs RAY and the final battle between Snake and Ocelot are among my favorites in all of gaming
- Snake and Otacon's friendship is really at it's best here, even going as far as to raise Sunny together, bros all away to the very end.
- The Microwave Hall scene. Like c'mon
- Raiden for the most part gets some of my favorite moments, his first appearance, his sacrifice, his return, and among the endings for all the characters, his was by far my favorite
- As dumb as some parts can be(the Ocelot twist I mentioned earlier being one of them), I really loved the ending, it's absolutely beautiful

For all of it's problems, in the end I still love this game, and you can tell a lot of effort was still put into it, even when it's also clear Hideo Kojima was ready to move on

Prototype 1, played the PC version.

Dear lord, is this game edgy. It stars a guy that is dressed on literal black and red and has a blade arm, and spends half the game brooding about stuff, but if I had to tell you about what I did in this game's story, it kind of went through one ear and off the other, it was that forgettable. At least I can say that it felt genuinely fun to move around, the guy is as edgy as it gets, but he moves insanely fast and jumps insanely high. That alone kept me going through the whole game, as I love it when a game just lets me be as mobile as I am capable of controlling.

Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion. :P

It's hilarious and honestly, the most fun I've had with a game in ages. It plays kinda like a Zelda game and is quite short as well. It only took me about 3 hours to complete it 100% and I don't mind that at all, because it was just that fun.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

Beat MGSV. I still stand by my opinion that it's still an excellent game despite a disappointing final mission and some of the twists being really dumb even for MGS standards

Plants vs Zombies. Classic game.

I still haven't unlocked all the minigames though. I'm focusing on the second playthrough, which is supposed to be slightly harder.

Technically it's the easy mode of a Star Wars:  The Old Republic expansion I beat:please:

Knights of the Eternal Throne, all 9 chapters, with a Steam achievement thumbnail to boot:yay:

Hope that my friend @Sir Hugsalowski is informed and happy with joy for my accomplishment:mlp_icwudt:

Finished X2, and X3. The latter much quicker, surprisingly, as this is only the second time I’ve played it.
Just now, I’ve finished X4 with X, now I’ve restarted with Zero

I tend to replay games a lot. So as for the last game I beat, that would have to be "The Evil Within 2". The father Sebastien in that game definitely earns father of the century when he goes through both literal and metaphorical hell to rescue his daughter. Definitely the kind of father I would strive to be whenever I decide to meet someone special, get married, and have kids.

I beat Fallout 4's main quest last night. I went with the railroad because I felt they were the best fit for the character I was playing. Honestly all the paths in FO4 kind of play out the same so it doesn't really matter that much.
