I could get shelter on a cloud where I would be pretty safe, as slimes can't fly or stay on clouds. Also, lighter+aerosol can proves quite useful against slime.

I'm not screwed. Using my talent in mechanics I got from a lighter straped to an aerosol can to a fully-functional flamethrower.

I don't know. On the one hand, it's a piece of blob that somehow got a pencil stuck inside itself, meaning it may not be too much of a threat.

I get the "mare" part alot. I'm a male with a rounded muzzle.

Also, for a single soldier I found 10 of these in a military bunker in the Appleloosian Desert.
