How many people like Applejack?

I always thought she would end up being the big sister, dependable friend type that would without thinking or hesitation jump into action and help others without asking. But she seems to fall short of that past season 2.

Though not my favourite pony overall, she is my favourite mane sixer. It's a minority opinion, but that's why it's all the more important for us AJ-lovers to keep the faith. Really, as others have pointed out it's harder to writer interesting episodes for AJ than for the other Sixers because she's already contented with her place in the world and doesn't have as much to strive for as the others, but that just means the writers have to get a little bit more creative in order for her to really shine, a challenge I'll freely grant they don't always rise to. Here's hoping the next episode is as good to AJ as the last one was to RD...

I honestly don't hate anypony in the show. That is mostly because they all seem very adorable or just plain attractive. That applies to Applejack a lot, but I really can't hate somepony just because they don't have much of a past going for them. In my opinion, and I apologize if this offends anyone in any way, but I think Applejack is probably the sexiest character in the show (And especially in Equestria Girls). I probably do not need to explain my attraction to her, since the whole thing might just be subjective, but I do think she is physically attractive. It's probably all that country swagger she has.

 

But, all in all, I do like Applejack.

yeah I agree with you on that one in fact my post is all about why I'm actually in love with her (judge me if you will), anyway I find her attractive as well but more like a school crush way.

At first Applejack wasn't my type of pony, but now I really like Applejack. I actually have a little crush on her. She has progressed as a really great character now and her country style has really grown on me.

I think those jokes arise because of how Hasbro often excludes her from toys and such.  All the time you'll see McDonalds toys or coloring books or something with everypony except AJ.  It's crap, I know, but I don't think the brony community has anything against her.  I love her.

I'll be honest, I'm not too crazy on Applejack. She is my least favourite of the Mane 6, actually. But din't get me wrong, she is still a delightful character to watch. I especially how balanced she is. One time she'll be a hard-worker with no time to have fun, other times she is a great motherly figure to many fillies and at other times she also likes the thrill of an adventure and enjoys sports with her friends. But in spite of all of this, there is something about her that just makes her my least favourite Mane 6 pony. Maybe it's the voice, maybe it's the exaggerated Western themes which I am not a fan of or maybe it's how most of her episodes focus on family. As such, I prefer the rest of the Mane 6.

I myself consider Applejack one of my favorite characters! She's got an amazing family, she's just so relatable for me, but I can see why that wouldn't be the case for many. I honestly think her episodes are pretty good, despite the slight exaggeration of her protective personality. However, I've gone that bad sometimes, while not usually that bad. I think it was more the exaggerated image that Applebloom's mind conjured. She wasn't that bad, but SEEMED that bad. Remember, kids minds exaggerate many hardships and annoyances.

I find AJ alot more entertaining in the comics than the show.
Honestly, AJ's best and most entertaining traits are when she's playing the put upon straight man to others, with her visibly being upset or angry but holding it in, kind of like when she and Rarity interact. It only works when you let her slip in a few snarks and whatnot every so often though. Twilight USED to fill this role in Season 1, but since she's been made a princess they've excised her getting upset or fed up with others from her character, leaving a hole in the dynamic which AJ really works well to fill.


Specifically, looking at comics like the rarity/AJ FF, issues 1-4 or the mayor mare/AJ comic, AJ really works well with her facial expression, having barely contained exasperation at the others. It really adds alot of comedy, without her being terrible or malicious as she still holds her tongue.
Another thing I like is they touch on her leadership traits alot more (like in the mayor mare comic) which shows alot of untapped potential in AJ and hints at her being a good second in command, which I think helps to flesh her out.

Applejack is my favorite pony.  You can almost always count on Applejack to remain cool and collected when stuff's going down.  She keeps the entire group grounded, and she's an invaluable member of the team. (Of course they're all invaluable, but Applejack makes one heck of an XO)

As a person, yeah, she's a good girl. As a protagonist, no. Unless something weird starts happening in the middle of nowhere keeping up with the Apples seems boring. Every one of her episodes I'm like: Wake me up inside! (Can't wake up!)
