TomokoKuroki 1,707 August 30, 2013 Share August 30, 2013 (edited) I do care to an extent. Not in terms of how others percieve me for what I wear, and how my hair is done; but more in terms of how clean I look. It means a whole lot to look clean and neat. Clothes are superficial, and subjective to the individual, but hygiene applies to everything, and everyone. So I do not care if I look lame, too dark, or w/e to others, as long as I look clean, and smell good; that is all that matters to me. Jessper 735 August 30, 2013 Share August 30, 2013 I'm all about looks. My motto is "It doesn't matter how good you ARE, what matters is how good you LOOK.". On a serious note, I do care about how I look a lot, but not because I care about what others think about me. I care about how I look because I want to like myself. If I was fat, smelly, messy and dirty, I couldn't stand myself, so I try to be neat, clean, shiny and slim and with clothes I like. Sounds bad or weird? Well, bite me or better yet, bite you. Lateon 589 August 30, 2013 Share August 30, 2013 Not especially, no. But, I do make sure to be clean shaven, brush muh teeth, and have not-gross-looking hair. Clothes do not matter much to me any more. I usually wear just plain shirts and jeans/shorts. I don't really adhere to the concepts of how certain patterns don't go with each other. My physique isn't much to be concerned about (perpetually slim), but my facial hair is literally the worst of all time, if you could even call it facial hair. I am a literal neckbeard, so shaving every 3-7 days is prudent for me to not look like a level 50 spaghettimancer. I brush my teeth immediately after I get up, and always take a shower at least once a day, but not if I have to get up too early (7 AM, I'm such a wimp). I make sure my hair doesn't look like I haven't touched it in days, and then I'm good to go. I switch out shirts every day, but I do reuse pairs of shorts once or twice, and pairs of jeans up to three times, since I only have like 3-4 pairs. It's not like anyone cares what people wear on my campus, and nobody really notices if I reuse a pair of jeans that look like any other pair that I own. So, in summary: hygiene first, style never. takai 1,060 August 31, 2013 Share August 31, 2013 Yes, I always care about how I look. I try my very best every time I go out to look great. Some may find it sad, or vain, or some other demeaning word, but really, looks are important. I like to look, smell, and feel nice. Plus being clean in general is awesome. If I knew I was smelly or something I'd be extremely embarrassed. Clothes on the other hand aren't as huge of a deal. As long as I like what I'm wearing, I'm cool with it. I don't really have the latest fashion on that men wear, I just usually throw on a video game/anime/band t-shirt with jeans and call it good. Radiance64 7,053 August 31, 2013 Share August 31, 2013 Yeah, I guess I do. Definitely not to the point of extreme vanity of course, but I always try and take some care in how I look. I mean, I'm definitely not the best looking guy ever but I do try to take care I guess.
Solar Cloud 493 August 31, 2013 Share August 31, 2013 I picked other because it depends on where I am going. Going to a job interview or a formal event. I am going to bust out my dress clothes and gel my hair. On a normal day, I usually just make sure my hair is brushed(when I am in need of a haircut), my teeth are brushed, a shower is taken, deodorant is applied, and I put on a fresh shirt. What that shirt is depends, once again, on where I am going. Most of the time, though, they are geek shirts. Marceline 187 August 31, 2013 Share August 31, 2013 Do I care about how I look? To an extent, yeah. I like weird styles so I like to dye my hair (it's blue right now) and wear all kinds of crazy clothes, ranging from cybergoth to elegant gothic lolita to harajuku. So I do that because I want to, and because I like it. It's fun to me. Do I care about what other people think about my looks? lolno. That I don't care about. I honestly get more compliments for my weird stuff than insults. It's about how you wear it, really. Compliments are always nice to get so you could say that I care about those because I thank the people who give them to me; then again, that's just common courtesy. Mutemutt 773 September 1, 2013 Share September 1, 2013 To an extent. When I'm going to be out and about that day, I want to look at least presentable. If I'm just sitting around at home, I don't really care all that much. And then there's the odd case of my hair. Now I've pretty much messed up my hair due to trichotillomania and still continue to mess with it even after all these years. I gotten accustomed to how it looks and I try to not let it get to me but I still do my absolute best to make it less apparent.
BluntySrBlunt 4 September 1, 2013 Share September 1, 2013 "First impressions always matter." THIS I got look sexy for the rest of the world, don't I? 50/50 Some days I care, some days I look a hot, hot, hot mess! Make up is like power, it can be used for good or for evil aka make you look like a clown or flawless. Looks like miley's got some competition from me now. ShadowRose2k 271 September 1, 2013 Share September 1, 2013 I care for the most part, in public. When I go out I make sure Im wearing decent clothing (not dirty), brushed hair, ect. I will wear FiM shirts in public, like my Dr Whoves, Brony, or Nightmare Moon shirts. And not care one bit because my usally out with my wife and kids when I do so. I am accepting and aware (tho some times embarrised) of my physical flaws. Tho I have offten been told I am handsome / Good looking. Lots of people still say I look like im in my mid to early 20's. Obsolete 681 September 1, 2013 Share September 1, 2013 (edited) Lately I've been going out wearing whatever I slept in the previous night, occasionally switching my shorts for a pair of jeans that haven't been washed in ages. I don't bother combing since my hair is a lost cause and I only occasionally remember to shave. In case you're somehow having trouble deducing my answer based on that information, I'll make it explicit: I don't care about how I look. ...That is, of course, until a pretty girl walks into my field of vision. Then my appearance suddenly becomes the most important thing in the universe and I become upset with myself for sabotaging my chances. No matter how many times this happens I never seem to learn my lesson. Derp. Edited September 1, 2013 by Rudy Redlin
HunterTSN 1,444 September 1, 2013 Share September 1, 2013 Of course I car about my personal image, I'm not by any means a fashionista or super obsessed with the latest styles or anything, but I believe it is very important to look your best and make a good appearance. Your very own Victorian-styling, airship-flying, super-sizing, brass-lining, quick-drying, detoxifying, low-pricing, newbie-knifing, over-driving, sometimes-hiding, unsurprising, ninja-fighting, perfect-timing, always-smiling, never-lying, best at writing, also rhyming automaton! ChoroChii 284 September 4, 2013 Share September 4, 2013 In video games, I really do care about how I look like. I don't like looking at a character that i don't find to be attractive. In real life, it depends who I'm hanging out with. If it's somebody I'm trying to impress - I will most likely wear nice clothing, perfume, make up, ect. I usually just wear a T-shirt and a skirt. I've been trying to dress more feminine recently though.
Thorns 55 September 4, 2013 Share September 4, 2013 It's pretty important to dress snazzy wherever you tread in life. A well-dressed man or woman conveys confidence, success, ambition, cleanliness, maturity, and RESPONSIBILITY.Why would you want to be perceived any other way? People are silently judging you all the time. They take notice on a lot more things than one can inititally imagine; how the cuticles under your fingernails are uneven, torn and swollen red from too much gnawing, the yellow tint of your teeth and the tartar that rides the gums on the upper row, the length of your fingernails, how often your eyes shift, the subtle bounce in our step, the positioning of our head, the quality of one's hair, the (un)natural aroma as you slide past them, and even the way our arms seem to swing inward while we're walking. These microexpressions speak volumes about a person, and can mean life or death in a professional environment or when approaching a potential date.Just some food for thought. "Men do not differ much about what things they will call evils; they differ enormously on what evils they will call excusable." "The only place where success comes before work is in a dictionary." Jackleberry 1,923 September 5, 2013 Share September 5, 2013 (edited) A little bit, I mean I don't really care about what I'm wearing and all, but my hair is somewhat important to me. If it's greasy and messy looking, then I ain't going anywhere outside of my house, otherwise I'm perfectly fine. deadprofile 1,122 September 5, 2013 Share September 5, 2013 (edited) I used to not care about how I looked, but then I got married.... In High school and early college, I really did not care...but now having been married over 2 years, I still go out of my way to look appealing to my husband, and I have incorporated long skirts into my wardrobe (the hippie kind) because my husband really likes how I look in them. I also wear alot of brony t-shirts, and other than that, a lot of razorback tank tops (because I am very active). I NEVER wear shorts or tennis shoes. I always am found (when not wearing a skirt) wearing guys pants (because girl pants have pathetic pockets) and steel toed boots. Don't know what video games have to do with this, but I just play for the fun, not the stats.... I don't know how to use makeup, and other than braiding, I only put my hair into a ponytail. Though I am growing it out for my husband's delight.... BubbleGum-Pop 26 September 5, 2013 Share September 5, 2013 I was bullied for 8 years because of how I looked, so yeh I kinda do care about how I look. I have no confidence and the self-esteem of a rock, I do put effort into how I look but I don't wear lots of make-up or spend hours doing my hair, I don't want to attract attention to myself so I just kinda stay away from all the popular sluts who judge everyone. Invincible 2,091 January 26, 2015 Share January 26, 2015 Yes, to a certain degree. I like to feel good about myself and show it, too. I won't stand an hour by a mirror to fix every stray strand of hair, or ponder what should i wear next, i'm not that fashionable anyway. But i do prefer to be clean and aesthetically pleasing to look at. Koukatsu 5,899 January 26, 2015 Share January 26, 2015 I look pretty good. It's rare that I put in any effort, hair stuff and the like. It's not that important to me. I mean, I look good, that's great. Would my life be ruined if I got hit in the face, and came out of it deformed? No. Though, I'd probably go ape[poop] crazy on who/whatever the source of the deforming event was. || Ponysona || Ask Me Anything || Johari Window || Twitch || Gamer Stuff ||
Nila Bean 133 January 26, 2015 Share January 26, 2015 Yes, I do care about how I look, and it shows (as people have told me) Clothes, shoes, jewelry, and hair are something I pay attention to. I really don't have a lot of self-esteem issues, but generally I feel a little more "lifted" when I know I look good. Now do I go flaunting it in everyone's face and thinking I'm better than everyone? No. But how you portray yourself in today's world does kinda matter, believe it or not.
