Ok, so I am a big of the Cthulhu Mythos, and have always found the most interesting pieces of the Mythos is the emphasis insignificance of a person on the cosmic scale and the Gods of the Mythos. Anyways I'm rambling I'll just get to my question, here is question who or what is your favorite Great Old One or Outer God within the Mythos and why.

 

My favorite would have to be Hastur as he appears to be on one of the more unknowable entities. All we about him is that he sends his avatar The King in Yellow around to do his dirty work, other then that we don't even know his appearance really. Furthermore, his idea of conscription is to drive people to madness through the eponymously named play "The King in Yellow", which we are never given a reason why he does such a thing. Finally, he is not an overtly malevolent entity, like pretty much every other one in the Mythos, maybe all he wants to do is sit down and have a nice madness inducing chat with his future subjects.

Cthulhu is my favorite god, since he really does enjoy destroying a lot of planets and worlds. He is a god that really does astonish me.

Poll needs more Yog-Sothoth. A giant omniscient mass of glowing spheres that occupies all of time and space in all universes simultaneously is pretty awesome.

 

I'm actually not very familiar with the mythos, I just know a bit from playing a ton of Arkham Horror, and reading stuff on Wikipedia.

Oh yeah, I just got through my first few games of Arkham Horror, awesome game by the way, and was wondering if you recommend any of the expansions.

Yog-Sothoth because it's just fascinating, glowing living spheres that occupy of all time and space everywhere at the same time is just such an interesting concept in my opinion.

I'm really a Yog-Sothoth kinda guy. As Evil Shy explained, he/it is pretty amazing. I need to read more Lovecraft though. His work is amazing, but I just haven't gotten around to reading him more.

It's my friends game, but I don't think he has any expansions.

Yeah, Azathoth is pretty awesome, too (and he's also really fun and terrible to play against in Arkham Horror).
