You all know who Celestia is! The princess of Equestria, the one who rise's the sun! She trained Sunset Shimmer, and then Twilight Sparkle. But let me ask you this: What's your opinions on her?

I love her because she is very wise and a good ruler, she has nearly everything planned out although that makes her look like a troll.

I guarantee if Luna got more screen time she'd started to get bashed and hated, that's why we like background ponies so much. We can make up random things about them without the show getting in the way, same sort of goes for Luna.

I like her BECAUSE of her appearances. I don't think up situations for Luna to be in, I just like how she looks. i'll stand by my opinion no matter what.

To be perfectly honest, I think she's useless really. She relies on Twilight and her friends for everything and really can do nothing herself e.g. Against the changlings.

 

However, I do think she is also wise, kind, and very fair. I just think she needs to show why she's the ruler by finally protecting everyone instead of the one being protected like she has been.

Celestia. Ok. My favorite pony. Best princess (Luna can only claim that after she ruled Equestria for a thousand years by herself while suffering those Canterlot nobles). We really lack information to say much about her and how she rules Equestria, but until the show tells us otherwise, it seems like she kept it in peace and that she is a fair ruler.

 

Celestia is one of the things that made me really like the show. A benevolent and competent ruler, with unrestrained power that kept her head straight instead of going insane... Right Luna? (cough cough... just kidding, Luna...).

 

I also like her appearance. She looks majestic, IMO.

 

Curious thing.... When I looked up Google to make sure I had the definition of "tyrant" correct, "Trollestia/Molestia/Tyrant Celestia|Know your meme" came up as fourth result. XD

As a character, I find her an alright one, but a bland one at that. She isn't that interesting to me. Which is why I find Luna as the best princess.

 

But personally, she is a wise ruler and leads much better than all of Earth's governments combined. I have respect for her. She has made some mistakes, but that's alright.

She's ruled Equestria for a thousand plus years by herself and by all accounts it's virtually paradise, especially in comparison to the nonsense we've got here on Earth. So yes, I think highly of her as a character, especially if she's in a good fanfiction where the little nuances she might have are explored.

But then Canterlot wedding episode quickly changed my opinion of her completely. When she fought the Queen of the changelings, she was K.O'd (lol).

 

To my surprise she was actually weaker than her, and it brought more depth to her character. It brought her down to a relatable level, nobody(nopony) is perfect.

I think there are more students that Twilight and Sunset. Since Celestia lives for 1000+ years, she had to have went through at least 100 students. They may not all be girls. So of those male unicorns may have crushed on their teacher.

 

Celestia may have in fact had a teacher student romance once.

The Queen won the fight because she was getting a magical power boost off of Shining Armor's love. Otherwise, Celestia would have won the fight.

Haha, even though I call her a tyrant, I don't hate her.  I'm just entertained at the thought that she might actually have ulterior motives like she does in my headcanon.  It would make her much more interesting.  (I think I explained this on another post)

Princess Celestia is best Princess. She's my third favorite pony on the show and in all honesty, I despise Luna, she's my least favorite character on the entire show. 

 

Celestia has a caring aura around her, she's sweet, kind, caring and a great ruler.

I prefer Luna but I also like Celestia, we haven't seen much of Celestia outside of her roles as teacher and ruler aside from a few subtle hints. What we have seen of those hints is that Celestia depite her royal status has not let it go to her head and has not abused the power of her position, it dosen't make her perfect as we have seen her make some mistakes in the show the biggest one being not listening to Twilight's suspicions about "cadence" during the wedding. If we see a bit more of this and a bit more time with luna then I believe that Celestia will become far more popular.

Maybe Twilight didn't handle it as well as she should have but Celestia still knew about the threat and most likely knew that the Changelings are shape shifters and thus is was possible than some ponies might not have been who they seem to be. Plus you would think as her aunt she would have noticed "Cadence's" suspicious behavior.

Well for one, shes old, over 1000 i believe. She can't get things done herself, she has twilight and the mane 6 do it (but then again, I would too if I was royal) A good teacher, with a beautiful appearance.

Shining Armor said in Part 1 that they didn't know who made the threat.

 

Celestia was busy with keeping her eye out for the threat to be with Cadence and observe her behavior.

 

The only time Cadence and Celestia are together on the same time is during the wedding rehersal just when Twilight makes that big scene which blows up in her face.

IMO Celestia is the most underappreciated character in the show. It always upset me how the fandom overlooks all the good things she does and always overblow her mistakes.

 

Besides, I'd love to see more of her joking side from A Bird in the Hoof(Gotcha!)

I like her.  I like the fact that even though she's usually very regal, elegant, and wise, deep down she's not really a big fan of stuffy formality- it's just something she has to deal with, being Princess and all.  I like the fact that there's a bit of a jokester side to her (trollestia, anyone?)

Or maybe just one of the few people who prefers Celestia over Luna in general.
