I think she's my fifth favorite now that I have listened to that guy on the internet explain exactly WHY so many people like her. I mean at first she sounded like the typical I LOVE FASHION, kind of a character, but there's more to her character than people realize. Than I realized. She's ok.

The misconception was that she reminded him of a stuck-up girl he once knew when he went to college and he, in turn, wrote her off as being like this girl who apparently did him wrong, and she fell under the same trope as a Diamond Tiara type character that's the stereotypical trope for characters like Rarity to fall under.

 

What he failed to see was that he was essentially seeing Rarity as a DT type character, which is false. She can come across as that to many people (for some reason; having actually watched the show, I can say that it's obvious she isn't) but, as is the case for most hatred bred of stereotyping her character, it was praying for love and paying in naivety. He went back and gave her character another look over, saw that she wasn't a Diamond Tiara-type trope, and realized that she wasn't nearly the pony he was writing her off to be; his guilt led to an apology to all of us.

 

Now, the misconception was already cleared up, and I was the one who brought the hammer down on the misconceptions he had, personally. I'm sure he's tired of hearing he's wrong and would like to be left be on the subject matter, given the ride to hell I'm able to spawn from my keyboard when it comes to this topic

 

So, yeahh, brah; no reason to explain anything else to the fella; his opinions have changed

Just a little personal bragging, but I also was voted best Rarity fan on the forums a while back! I'd just like to say it's an honor that people were willing to vote me into that title This isn't a competition for best fan, though, and it never will be, just keep that in mind; I'm just expressing the gratitude I'm still feeling from my victory

You don't know how people change their minds though. But whatever.

I think he has, given he's outright stated it. 

 

We don't need to shove things down other people's throats, we only need to present the facts and make our case. If we shove things down others throats and force things on them, they won't listen.

 

Also, you cannot say for a fact that his mind has not changed, nor can I say 100% certain his mind has changed. Evidence is on my side, though, unfortunately, given he's apologized and stated it himself.

 

Now, stubbornness gets you nowhere, and I suggest you stop trying to argue such a trivial matter as me saying "hey, bud, back off, he's cool now" because, quite frankly, I'm finding the fact I'm even having this discussion with you a mite bit pointless. You shouldn't argue to argue, which, is just what you seem to be doing right now. It doesn't help anything.

Ignoring the sudden drama above me, I'm gonna talk about second best of the mane six.

 

• Rarity's episodes were really fantastic in season 1 and 2. I was a little bored and unfavored with the way they portrayed her in season 3 and 4 thus far (except Simple Ways), but nonetheless, I'm hoping they'll explore her more extremely like Dog and Pony Show.
• Rarity's voice actor, Tabitha St. Germain is easily the best (sorry Tara, I still love you) on the show. You should look at the cast she's got! 
• I love her mane! When do you ever see such a gorgeously colored and curled hair she has?
• Her concept is brilliant! Faust envisioned each of the mane six being the example of what every girl can be. Having a relatable character like her and with the concept of her being sophisticated and generous is pure genius.
• Best singer by far~

You're right, we are reaching an impasse and I am being stubborn.

However, I have knowledge of the subject on how people change their minds. So on the same token, I am right to add what I added as it is important, has not been stated and will help him understand where the character comes from.

And I do not believe I was shoving anything down his throat as I said that I understood where he was coming from and tried to show that I understood his perspective.

Well...no. I'd say it's very possible to be both. To be stuck up is to feel one is superior to others and this often leads to acting superior as well. Rarity does this, even to her friends and family at times. She's not so discriminatory that she won't associate with other people but she still often believes and acts like she's superior to others, generally when it comes to class and fashion.

Recently I've listed rarity as best pony because recently she has been.

The blinding cloths scene was......

It was pinkie level crazy with a splash of rarity charm.

All the Lols with non of the groans.

 

She stole a scene that needed to be stole.

Oh he did.

He's long established i was some rabid rarity hater,

and now he's trying to claim victory that I've paid the character service as if i was bullied into the decision.

 

If i felt the character was terrible (like in rarity takes) I would speak my mind.

How ever in episode 16 not only is the character amusing but she's entirely with in her character,

not just that but judging by the sheer of the clothing one might suggest rarity can craft magical attire.

(kinda like that magical comic spike had).

I mean think about that.

Rarity potentially (unless i'm reading to much into it)

has the potential to make legendary dresses, literally.

 

That's pretty bad ass.  I kinda hope they expand on rarity making enchanted cloths in the future.

For the first three seasons, I found Rarity amusing and adorable but also a bit exasperating. I'd probably have put her fifth or sixth favourite. I don't know what it is about season 4 that has made me just fall in love with the purple maned pony! I love her hilarious one liners ("I'm confused and I was there!"), her intensity (even if it does come across as totally dramatastic), her stubborn competitive side (it is SO ON), and of course let's not forget her beautiful singing voice, pretty design, and Tabitha's brilliant voice acting.

 

So I guess overall you could say my opinion of Rarity is pretty positive!

Ahem...Rarity is the single most important Pony of the Remane 5. While she does not have Main Character Powers, like Twilight. She does draw the most attention (good or bad) has some of the most important and also eye rolling lines in the show. She can actually be looked upoun as a rolemodel (a big Sister, Owner of her own buisness, a female with life goals etc) and lets faceit...she has the BEST Voice Actress on the show! Thank you Mrs. Germaine!

 

Lady Rarity rocks. And frankly it is about darn time the writers got on board with this. Season 4 for her has been huge in character development and her personal fanbase has grown in both directions (lovers and haters).

 

Let me ask this, What would the Mane6 be like without her? The CMC without the resources she offers (not saying Sweete Belle wouldnt be around, but surely the little filly gets alot of things the group uses on there adventures, also the decoration of the Tree House). And most of all, if you remove the pinacle of femine culture from the 6, that leaves you with off balanced stereotypes. Two tomboys, a nerd, a wet tissue and a party animal. Surely you need the Princess to balance that group of girls.
