MLP vs South Park - which one's the best

hi bronies, i have a cuestion for ya, is MLP better than South Park? maybe you think "there's no comparison of both because are different" then i ask you which one you like the most?

South park is a great show for teens and adults because of it's humor and unique way of either parodies or episodes, along with some great lessons here and then.

 

MLP FIM is a great show that I don't need to explain why it's so awesome and well known to many.

Both shows are very good, but in their own ways. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic does an fantastic job with its characters, and South Park has excellent satire. 

 

However, they both are smart, and funny, and the characters are memorable.

Completely different genres, completely different target demographic, completely different feel, completely different style... the only thing they have in common is both being animated. now they use computers for the animation and everything

and cartman isn't what he used to be

pop culture references

they don't go on these small stupid adventures anymore and now every episode of south park has to be so dramatic and big and,

it seems like they are taking it too seriously

 

although i have some favorite episodes from the newer seasons

I absolutely hate South Park.

 

I am NOT saying I think it's a bad show. For what it does, it's a very creative, well thought-out show with no fears in satirizing the most controversial topics in today's society. But again, I do hate it.

 

On the exact opposite hoof, I absolutely adore MLP. It's a great show for all ages. No swearing, no sexual humor, no utter vulgarity... a pleasant show through and through.

I'm sorry if this sounds rude or offensive, but its just my opinion and isn't directed at anyone but the tv show south park.

 

In my honest opinion... south park is utter crap, and doesn't deserved praise in the slightest. If I like a show, its because of the characters... and south park has no good characters, and any development or lessons learned seemingly dissapear or are forgotten. Its good for nothing but hugely offensive crude humor, that will insult and parody anyone and anything to whore popularity/publicity. MLP on the other hand has great characters... and story, and better voice acting... basically it beats south park in every aspect. In my opinion, any and all morals of south park are drowned in toilet jokes and brain dead characters ruining everything. If they took out all the offensive fart/toilet/gay/racist jokes, then the show might be good... but that's a big maybe.

South Park is actually a great show, but I don't really think you can compare it to MLP very well. They actually have a lot in common, though. They both have strong morals and strong characters who get development (MLP does CD much better, though).

 

MLP isn't as funny, though, and the morals aren't as expansive as South Park's. Saying that South Park is bad because it's crude is kind of missing the point. It's a pretty accurate representation of what 4th grade kids are like.

 

MLP has more interesting characters, but that's because they are the focal point of the show, whereas South Park tries to cover as much as possible in a single episode. And the lessons in SP really do carry over just as much as they do in MLP.

I can't even compare these two shows. They are of different genres, the only thing they really have in common there is a lesson at the end of each episode and they are cartoons.

 

South Park.. animation is kinda lacking. I know, it's intentional, but still. MLP FIM wins this.

 

South Park is more WTF funny and crazy then MLP FIM can ever be. It's an adult cartoon that has literally got in trouble for the fun they've made of stuff.

 

I love MLP FIM as much as I would love South Park. I read MLP FIM Fan fiction of a South Park level humor if I want more adult comedy madness.

I don't like south park at all. Offensive, gross, crude, and a laundry list of other reasons I don't like it. Doesn't even compare in a visual sense (which is probably the idea. Still doesn't mean it's a good thing) to MLP. South Park takes all the cynicism, all the problems we have in our world, exaggerates them and makes fun of them. Still shows us how lousy our world is. MLP shows us how much better things can be by displaying a rather embracing and progressive world that culturally and aesthetically differs from our own, one of the reasons why the show is appealing to me. It's something different from the world I'm all too used to.

It doesn't have anything good about it, and I despise it when idiotic parents allow their under age kids to watch it, it is partly the trouble with youth these days with their foul mouths and moronic/stupid behavior. I rarely watched South Park. My brothers claimed they watched all of South Park in weeks (then again, they're also online often). I'd rather watch some good ol', clean MLP since it's great and colorful in more ways than one.

This poll really didn't need to have 5 options. It's one or other, not both, or one show is awesome and the other is shit. Both shows are good for different reasons, so it's really not fair to compare the two, as they couldn't any more different. But with that being said I like south park better.

The vulgarity and over-the-top ridiculousness is what makes it good, and funny. It's the anti-mlp. So like I said it's pointless to compare the two.

 

MLP is soft, and sweet and cute.

 

Southpark is hard, vile, offensive, and hilarious

 

There is no comparison because they have nothing in common, you might as well be comparing apples and orange.

This is an odd question to ask on a My Little Pony forum. You think you'd already know where our allegiances lie

 

But for me it's a tough question I've liked south park much longer but honestly I've connected to MLP a great deal more due to its wonderful fans like everyone on this forum
