Mywas 687 September 6, 2013 Share September 6, 2013 I know this is old news but since Faust said She wanted to make Trixie a male but Hasbro made her change it. How would you feel if Trixie was a male, would you have liked him more or hated him more or vice vesra. I dont think her personality would have change that much, seeing how tomboyish Trixie acts. 1 Credits to Mint Drop for an awesome Sig.
Scootalove 10,689 September 6, 2013 Share September 6, 2013 I would still like Trixie if Hasbro did not tell Lauren to change it, because Trixie would have been a really great male antagonist just like how she is still an amazing antagonist. 5 Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules
Freewave 1,145 September 6, 2013 Share September 6, 2013 I am ok with Trixie being changed to a female. She seems to have the form and great voice to match so that reassignement surgery seems to have payed off well. I have made brony music since 2011. I like all kinds of music and genres. I'm sure you'll like some of it.. Here's My YouTube..I have several albums on Bandcamp and Pony.FM. Check out the 20+ Musician project Maressey which I am running. Gigapony 650 September 6, 2013 Share September 6, 2013 (edited) I reckon a male Trixie would still be a great and memorable antagonist, however I don't know that he'd be as enduring as our current Trixie is. He'd probably end up as a Flim & Flam-tier villain and I don't reckon he'd gain such a memetic status as mare Trixie has. For my part, male Trixie wouldn't be as cute to me as female Trixie is, and though I'd probably still love the character (I love me some villains), female Trixie with her voice, mannerisms, and cute design makes her one of my favourite overall ponies. An Old Head 4,816 September 6, 2013 Share September 6, 2013 I don't think I would've liked it too much. Aside from Big Macintosh, it would be one of the first male ponies to have had a speaking role or an episode, and it would've started the idea that male ponies are somehow villainous based on the first impressions we'd have got from them from Trixie. Must be why Hasbro changed it anyway. I'm still not a fan of Trixie, but I definitely prefer the fact that she was female
Nulln 755 September 6, 2013 Share September 6, 2013 I think I would like Trixie a lot better if she were a male. There'd at least be a bit of diversity in the show, as far as gender goes.
Abstract 832 September 6, 2013 Share September 6, 2013 The only aspect I can see that would really be affected by a gender change in Trixie would possibly be Snips and Snails; I don't think they would be so eager to do Trixie's bidding if she were a male. 1 "Let the steel of my resolve be not bested by the sum of my fears." Sugar Pea 2,682 September 6, 2013 Share September 6, 2013 I'd be shipping the hell outta him... :comeatus: I'm not kidding. Any who, he would be an awesome antagonist...I can just picture it now :3 Ooooh yeaaaah. 3 ℓ٥ﻻ ﻉ√٥υ
Obsolete 681 September 6, 2013 Share September 6, 2013 I'm not even into the whole shipping thing, but I admit, a male Trixie is probably the only pony I'd ship with Twilight. Way more interesting than that boring Flash Sentry dude.
~Silver Essence~ 2,625 September 6, 2013 Share September 6, 2013 I never knew about this. If she was a male in the end, I guess some slight changes will be made, but I also don't think the male version will be as popular as the female version. pinkiefan1287 610 September 6, 2013 Share September 6, 2013 (edited) Well this the first time I have heard about this. As for me I think I would like Trixie a little more if she was a guy. Not sure why, but it just sounds better to me. Even the aspect of the whole episode would change. Maybe more of the whole guys are better thing. Not a great idea, but still could work. ReverseFaller 2,483 September 6, 2013 Share September 6, 2013 Really? I never knew this...interesting. Anyways, I think seeing Trixie as a guy instead would just be weird. If Trixie was a dude I can see her...I mean him having James' voice (Pokémon) for some reason...I don't know. Also, I'd totally ship MaleTrixie and Twilight. Anyways, I enjoy Trixie for what she is so I guess I'm happy in a way she was changed to a girl. Credit for the signature goes to Kyoshi
IridscentNionios 1,420 September 6, 2013 Share September 6, 2013 Would be equally cool... but i guess i like Trixie more this way. Male Trixie would sound like a real pig... and would in extreme cases send anti-phalic messages. Honestly... never have MALE antagonists. Male villains yes... antagonists? In Mlp where everyone is a girl? Naaaaaaah... would make an awesome Trixie/Twilight ship though... very sexy ship it would be indeed. OCs Thorough list of all of them here. Fhaolan 4,483 September 6, 2013 Share September 6, 2013 I'd be shipping the hell outta him... :comeatus: I'm not kidding. Any who, he would be an awesome antagonist...I can just picture it now :3 Ooooh yeaaaah. Yeah, that one is major shipping material. Maybe *too* much so, to the point that Hasbro may have been a prescient in kaboshing it.
Literally Snails 2,307 September 6, 2013 Share September 6, 2013 (edited) Tricks was already a male a really long time ago, and I have proof right here! (This is a clip from Yu Yu Hakusho. The first time I saw Tricks, I immediately thought of him.) Celtore 2,770 September 6, 2013 Share September 6, 2013 (edited) Interesting... I can see Trixie's personality fitting a male character very well. I can also vividly visualize said pony wearing a very large top hat and one of those thin curly moustaches. idonotreallycare 94 September 6, 2013 Share September 6, 2013 It sounds pretty interesting, and I would really like to see the concept art they had for him/her, if it even exists. I'd like to have a male pony as a villain in season 4, but not like Sombra was.
Sugar Song 6 September 6, 2013 Share September 6, 2013 Wow! That would have been pretty cool! As far as if I would have liked Trixie to be a male, I wouldn't mind it I would actually like that ship a little more, if that happened My OC!
duidamasterXD 9,627 September 6, 2013 Share September 6, 2013 Only huge difference I can think of would be that the fandom might take it as an open invitation to ship the heck out of him even more than they already do. One of the things I like about Trixie is her voice though, so I'm fine with her being a mare. Hm. Wonder if her popularity on EQD would've boomed if she was a guy ? Unipeg 17 September 6, 2013 Share September 6, 2013 That explains why she's so cocky. If she were male that would be interesting but I like her as a female. Nothing can beat a diva.
Winona the Dog 1,984 September 6, 2013 Share September 6, 2013 There would be little to no difference to how we see Trixie now if she was a he. Except maybe the fan fics but otherwise his popularity would remain the same.
Caramel Apple 7 September 7, 2013 Share September 7, 2013 I think the TrixiexTwilight shippers wouldn't have a problem with that Heh heh heh... But in all seriousness, I hardly think gender would effect the Great and Powerful Trixie. I guess she would just be...the Great and Powerful...Travis? Iunno. What fun is there in making sense? Iudicium86 24 September 7, 2013 Share September 7, 2013 I think that would've been pretty cool. There's a sore lack of fleshed out and involved male ponies, good guy or otherwise. Kinda hoping season 4 gets some more colt/stallion presence on screen and in the stories.
Nature's Spell 526 September 9, 2013 Share September 9, 2013 Being a mare allows for the cattiness that she brings out in the mane six. I think one reason people dislike Boost Busters is how catty the mane 6 are, but I actually do think Hasbro made the right call.
