technology Help with my computer! Please

The picture is what my computer screen is showing me but it only does that sometimes and when it does not do it, I would move the mouse and then it would show it but i don't know how to fix it and i don't want to change the video card

 

How do i fix it without changing anything unless i have too

 

and if i just left the computer off for a bit would it work when i turned it back on?

I'm not really sure but from what I've heard it's most likely your video card. I've heard that this can be caused by the video card being loose or it being broken all together. Try removing the video card and putting it back in, if that doesn't work try it on another computer to see if it's broken. I've also heard it can have something to do with the monitor (but I highly doubt it )

If you have a desktop then check the hdmi or dmi cable and see if its loose or broken, if thats fine, then it probably is you're video card. If you're using a laptop then its probably the video card.

While it is probably your video card, a less likely problem is that something has gone wrong with your monitor or the cable itself. *Really* not likely, but technically possible. Is there another monitor in the house you can try plugging in, just in case?
