Sweetiebelle has finally learned how to utilize magic?

Unfortunately not. She just hits Rarity's horn to stop her using magic. The scene in One Bad Apple is the only time she has ever been actually shown doing magic on-screen, even it was only a spark.

 

 

I guess thats true, seems odd for them to keep offscreen, just wondering if it may be some hint towards her possibly using magic later in the season.

Yeah thats true. And i suppose it isn't a super strong case, probably just a bit of an overanalysis. It made some sense i guess at the time.

 

And its entirely possible the everfree could've done the magic.

And yeah thats true, but the majority follow the "Magic Aura Matches the eyes" theory thing. Enough.

 

Don't get discouraged. You weren't disproven, really. It's perfectly possible Sweetie Belle was practicing magic off screen.

 

As for the eyes thing, unfortunately in science, even one counter example is enough to disprove a theory. Although, you could argue that in most cases, eye colour matches aura.

 we've actually see this afew times, makes you wonder why Discord never tried just flicking the horn to prevent being zapped by magic XD

I'd say it is just a little mistake that the writers didn't think through.

 

I don't think it was intentional to infer that Sweetie Belle was using magic. If she was, it would probably be practicing.

I'm guessing Sweetie Belle does know how to use magic, just that it might be offscreen.

 

Granted it's nothing compared to GAPT, but magic from a unicorn is nonetheless magic.

 

We'll see how Season 4 turns out for the CMC.
