Smarts 1,626 December 13, 2013 Share December 13, 2013 I prefer stairs. Elevators have always made me feel very uneasy. Whenever I am in one, I feel my heart beating faster and my vision goes blurry. My family knows this and lets me take the stairs without any arguments. I feel safer on stairs, even though I have a great fear of heights. Also, it's good exercise. IF is best girl. Scootaloodle 1,623 December 13, 2013 Share December 13, 2013 (edited) Either depending on where I’m at: often though I’d take the stairs. Wating for a elevator (or lift as we say in the UK) is boring, it’s slow and not much to do. With stairs I just run up and I’m too busy running to be aware of how uninteresting a stair case is and I reach my desdanation quicker. Naive Wolf Josh 93 December 13, 2013 Share December 13, 2013 I know I should be taking the stairs, its better for me, but at the same time how can I strike dramatic poses as I ascend upon stairs? LittleRawr 679 December 13, 2013 Share December 13, 2013 Jetpacks are the best, obviously. However, if my jetpack's broken, I take the elevator. Signature by Azura
Sweet Dreams 1,893 December 14, 2013 Share December 14, 2013 If it's only a level or two, stairs. Otherwise, elevator all the way!
~Silver Essence~ 2,625 December 14, 2013 Share December 14, 2013 Stairs. That, and because of three things. At least your moving and doing some exercise rather than standing to your next destination. Much safer than an elevator where it could shut down or collapse any minute. When in an emergency, of course it's obvious which one is safer. Mutemutt 773 December 14, 2013 Share December 14, 2013 If I'm going up a level or two, then I take the stairs. 3 or more floors and I'll be taking the elevator. I don't like taking the elevator for just one or two floors since the stairs end up being quicker and stairs keeps you a little more active. It really annoys me when people get on the elevator just to go up or down a single floor when they're aren't moving anything heavy and/or hard to carry up or down the stairs. Of course, this is because there is only one elevator in the building I'm thinking of so it ends up stopping on every floor both on it's way to you and on it's way to your destination. KatieHooves 51 December 14, 2013 Share December 14, 2013 Stairs, please. I don't mind how many I have to climb. Nothing is worse than being trapped in a metal box with strangers.

clockwork24 103 December 14, 2013 Share December 14, 2013 Honestly, I'm more of a 'jumping around inside the elevator to feel it go up and down while it's moving' kind of guy. Stair racing with my brother is always fun too, though... (I'd like to thank Lunia for my signature and big_blue_ghost for my avatar!) Gone Airborne 22,008 December 14, 2013 Author Share December 14, 2013 I'll tell you what it is kind of nerve racking when you are at a concert or a stadium when you are going down really steep steps that is scary o.O . They both serve their purposes just I don't like elevators in general however
Rainboom Dash 1,057 December 14, 2013 Share December 14, 2013 A mix for me. I take the elevator if I go to a high level and the stairs/escalators if I go to the low levels.

Ianpiersonjdavis 514 December 14, 2013 Share December 14, 2013 Stairs. They are faster for me because I don't have to wait for them or deal with being in an enclosed space with people I don't know. Plus, I am always aware that the cables could snap, the hydraulics could fail, or the elevator could be stuck between floors.
Arylett Charnoa 4,919 December 14, 2013 Share December 14, 2013 (edited) Elevators. For some reason, I'm more afraid of stairs than more people. They feel unpleasant and I don't like non-level floor. I'm constantly afraid I'll slip and fall down a flight of stairs. The bigger they are, the more I have this fear. Elevators are probably well-maintained and consistently tested to make sure they don't screw up. Plus, they have emergency phones and devices. I'd much rather be trapped in an elevator than fall down a flight of stairs, that's for sure. In an elevator, my chances of breaking my spine or hitting my head when I fall and getting a concussion are reduced dramatically! Don't even get me started on escalators. I have a damn phobia of those. @_@ Stairs + moving = My worst nightmare. Just. No. Whoever invented that, you suck. ;~; That just increases the likelihood of falling down them! Scootalove 10,692 December 14, 2013 Share December 14, 2013 I prefer the elevator because, it's bad enough that I have to take the stairs on three floors in my school but there are so many stairs that it feels like a long spiral staircase.
