I've always enjoyed playing videogames, but in recent years, I've really got into serious gaming. I love LOVE LOVE Valve. I've played both Portal and Portal 2 several times each, which are definitely my favourite videogames at the moment, and I'm in the middle of Half Life 2 right now. I really want to play L4D next, but... *opens empty wallet*

 

One of my all time favourite games is Alan Wake. I love that game with a passion. The storyline is just... amazing. I've probably finished it eight times by now. XD

 

And I like the games from my childhood of course, like Tak and the Power of Juju, Ty the Tasmanian Tiger, Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2, Driv3r, Sonic (on Sega ), and other Sega games like Streets of Rage, Slimeworld, some old Disney games, and also... Ape Escape, Tekken (tag-team would be my personal favourite), Lara Croft, and other random obscure games...

 

I have no idea why more girls aren't into gaming. It's addictive... I've always played games with my dad, that's really the only way I've ever been able to properly bond with him, but I've branched out into my own genres lately. I like horror and puzzle games the most, but I've come to like first-person shooters (like Alan Wake and Half life) these days.

 

The most important thing about games for me is the story line. While I can enjoy mindless bloody violence as much as the next gamer, they never stick with me like the ones with deep fantastic stories do.

I'm myself a girl and I really don't understand those who lol when they see us being gamers, cuz for me it's the same as if you say " Girls only love pink and cute stuff or they're too stupid to understand how to play" . I played a lot of games on computer and xbox with my brothers and friends. I mostly enjoy playin games online like Counter Strike, Half life, WoW... etc and I really don't care what others thing about me. I'm a gamer and proud of it

The thing is I think most girls who play video games don't use microphones while in online play... Though I myself have only heard a handful of girls use mics, I know they're playing. As I said a while ago, 40% (I said 45 but I just did a google search and came up with numbers around 40) of gamers are female. Hell, my ex was a gamer, my sisters a gamer, and they're so much more hardcore than I am...

There are two types of girl gamers:

 

1. Girl gamers. These are girls who play games. Nothing special, really.

I think you should play a game to enjoy a game, that's why I always name myself shank (or something to that effect)
