What does your favorite pony mean to you?

This is my first time starting a new topic.

I was wondering if anypony else likes their favorite pony for sentimental reasons, like me.

 

Allow me to elaborate.

Fluttershy was my favorite in the very beginning. But I realized that I only liked her for the cute factor.

Around that time is when my life took a sharp turn for the worst. I was diagnosed with a chemical imbalance in my brain, and as a result of the imbalance I had clinical depression.

My wrists :/ they still look awful....

I had to be put on suicide watch pretty much 24/7. I was on anti-depressants and mood stabilization medication. It was awful. I felt like a robot.

 

I wasn't watching a lot of ponies at the time. But I thought if I could distract myself with something I might feel better. As I began to become a more avid fan of MLP, Pinkie Pie started to get my attention more and more.

Then I herd her smile song... And it changed everything.

I saw so much beauty in her ways of doing anything to make all the ponies happy. The lengths she would go to (like with Cranky Doodle) to make somepony happy we're so amazing to me. They still are.

She made me smile when I had no hope, and I wish I could thank her :/

 

I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong spot, but I really wanted to share my story. And I also want to hear YOURS. So please, feedback would be much appreciated!

Applejack is my most favorite. I would strive to become who she is, not a walking stereotype, but a honest hardworking person people can rely on.

 

I'm just the exact opposite, I seek solitude by aggressively snapping at people and holding a pessimistic lazy no-can-do attitude. However, I'm trying, there's only so much a person with no car and no money stuck at home doing nothing other than household chores.

For a long time, she's been a character that has resonated with me and made me happy to see. Her dedication to chasing her dreams is something I really admire and would love to have, but her willingness to put aside that and other things that are important to her for the sake of doing the right thing is what makes her truly incredible. Her tendency to hide her feelings and cover up what's bothering her is also something I can relate to, and have struggled with in the past. I can't remember ever liking a character so intensely for so long before. Even as my interest in MLP dwindles and shrinks, my liking of Rainbow Dash remains and I like to think it will stay that way

Rainbow Dash, to me, means all of my happiness. When I am down, she picks me up. When I'm having a bad day, she's always there to make me smile. She is the one pony I would do anything for.

A tie between Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle for me, Rainbow because she represents the element of loyalty which is what I represent to my friends and family, plus we're both active and love sports, Twilight represents the nerdy and book worm side of me, I love reading and learning new things. Those two are the ones I represent most.

It's a mix of likeability, character,

flaws and virtures.

 

Now despite rainbow falls being a bad episode (I feel )Rainbow handeled it all amazingly well, and twilight did kinda do a poor mans lisa simpson, 

 

dash is has climbed a long way in my personal view from last to first.

I'm sure there's a speed joke in there some where but i'm not making it.

Now supposedly discords next week,

 

i'm expecting to see another swing on who's personality can boucne the best of discord.

I'm really hopping for flutters to shine.  I mean cause she has the biggest influence with discord.

Alright here it goes,  my favorite pony as you may have noticed is Rarity, honestly Rarity inspires me. Her generosity towards her friends inspires me to be more generous with my friends, but sometimes I can be a little greedy.

My favorite pony is fluttershy. I love her voice and personality.

 

I love pegasus pony. So she's my first choice of all pegasus.

She makes me happy when I saw her face. whenever on the show and deviantart.

And I always listen to her remix song of random people on youtube. I enjoy and relax while listening.

Well Pinkie has sort of been the character I relate to the most. How she sometimes gets random or randomly sings sounds like me. She also can make me happy when watching like how in Pinkie Apple Pie she was so happy despite all the trouble going on around her. She can teach me no matter what happens, to still keep going on and be happy.

I like the question. Heck, at first I loved Rarity, it was her song Art of the Dress that got me into the show in the first place. More so her actual singing voice, which I believe is Kazumi Evans. Don't get me wrong, as I still really like her character, but... Not with the same puppy-dog enthusiasm I had at first. 

 

But, it was AJ and Fluttershy, (AJ a little more than Fluttershy) that really struck a chord with me. She really does represent everything I'd love to have in someone very close to me. Honesty being one of the biggest things I've ever wanted out of anyone. Not to mention she is hardworking and keeps her hooves on the ground, even when things go pair-shaped. Cares about her family big-time, and always willing to help out. All the things I strive to be, but see so little in day to day life and even I may falter on rare occasion. I'm still only human, but AJ is almost like my rock, when it comes to striving for those qualities in a world that seems to ignore them.

Pinkie Pie, to me, represents something I find admirable: Strength. She's a pony who can look at the worst situations in the face. She may cry when it comes, but when all is said and done, she's able to pick her head and make everypony around her laugh. She's not selfless; she makes others happy so she can be happy, which is technically selfish; but she's strong, and her ability to lift her spirits and others through her positive attitude is admirable.

 

Sure, the archetype of being strong through pain is nothing new, but I love it about her.

At first twilight was my favorite, me being a perfectionist, and can relate to how she acts and freaks out 

 

However I have started to really like Pinkie pie over time.

How she always makes other smile, and lives the simple and joyful life.

This alone makes her good, what makes her great for me, is that she is actually very smart

and reflected. She just "hides" it for the sake of a simple, happy life.

Which you can clearly see in Pinkie Apple Pie, and also not so obvious in It's About Time.

 

This is a philosophy I really look up to      there is no unnecessary drama with pinkie ^^

Fluttershy is my favourite pony of the Mane 6. I have a few things in common with her (introverted animal lover who can be kinda scary on the rare occasion that she gets angry). I was bullied a lot right through school and now, in my final year before university, it's dying down, just the occasional quip from someone in my drama class (I relate to Babs Seed because of this, too) and it always used to lead to me sort of aggressively snapping at people, not trusting people, holding grudges etc. But now I'm trying to break those habits because Fluttershy's kindness inspires me to.

I like Rainbow Dash for a reason. She may be brash and arrogant, but her determination and dedication stands head and shoulders above every flaw. She helped me gain more confidence in myself, since I had (And still kind of have) low self-esteem at the time. She helped me improve on that, and if I could thank her, I'd do it a million times.

   Rainbow Dash means a lot to me, although many see her as spiteful and conceited, she is not as arrogant as described, because she second guesses herself and she even had doubt, and that's why I love Rainbow Dash for her gallant confidence, the fact she would be there for others, and the positive reinforcement she gives is priceless, so that's the kind of friend I want so much. Fluttershy is also closest to me, I admire animals, and I work with wolves and that requires patience, and a gentle demeanour, so it's that calm ethereal atmosphere, I need at times, so Fluttershy means a great deal to me as much as the active vigour of Rainbow Dash, these ponies provide me balance after difficult moments, or just for fun, the other ponies mean a lot to me too, yet it is Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy that remain the most significant to me.

Dashie means a lot to me for a couple reasons:

 

1. Her determination is kind of how i deal with things if i must beat them. I've had 6 day long arguments on reddit because i will not give the last word to them. I can get way to determined to win and have wasted a lot of time in those pointless arguments as to not let them win. I've also played one part of a game over 20 times trying to beat it (damn you VVVVVV) or spent half an hour on 2 sentences to make them perfect in a school paper.
2. Her loyalty is something i strive to have one day. Before watching MLP i had a completely different mind set, i suppose you would say i just "grew up" over the last 2 years but i honestly believe a large part of it was also MLP. I can't really explain why but from episode one the element of loyalty stood out to me the most. So now i make it a point to be loyal to my friends, my countries original values (freedom, liberty, etc.), and my personal views in an argument. I gotta say since then my life has improved a good bit. So thanks Dashie  
3. Her love for winning is something we share also, it may not be in the same category of things but i definitely hate to lose. Sometimes i think i take it a little to far but losing it something i can never accept.
