When Discord was talking with Applejack and Rarity, I was kinda expecting those two to get some spotlights, even a little. So I was disappointed how they were treated very minorly.

It was a very entertaining music, very random, I liked it.

But the ending was very weak. Two princesses fighting a monster and saving the day(kinda) was too cliche.

I really liked this episode. I'm really happy that mlp continues to build characters that aren't just the mane 6. Discord has got to be my favorite because they pull of his character so well with a lot of different interesting layers.

 

This is my favorite season now without a doubt, I haven't been disappoint in an episode yet. They're all episodes that I'd watch multiple times.

I guess some people don't like the way that Pinkie Pie was portrayed in this episode.  But what stands out to me is the fact that she was the only pony who was happy to offer to take care of Discord.

We almost got a rarity apple jack pairing lol and it was yanked.

So wait the whole point was discord being a jerk?  I'd like to think there was a deeper meaning?  was it out of fear of the bonds of alicorn priness growing?  

PINKIE  buries the needle on dumb this time.

It's very beleivable that discord could set it up that way it went.  So don't say contrived.

I realize that this word has the stigma of being overused, but I don't know any other words in English that so perfectly define this episode as "awesome".

 

I thought Cadance's model was a little weird, but I can't really say what exactly was weird about it. I guess that I am just not used to seeing her so much and with so much movement on screen. And speaking of movement on screen... Seriously... I knew Discord was up to something, but the whole action scene caught me completely off guard. I think I love pony magic lasers. 

 

I like how this episode acknowledged the other Mane Six, but got them off screen instead of keeping them in, for the sake of keeping them in, like some episodes have been doing. Their lines were great, Pinkie was great. AJ and Rarity interacting with Discord was great. I'm not sure about Rainbow bailing like that, but it's Discord... She can be excused. And I completely bought the idea of the episode. Yeah, it was a nice day, Cadance.

 

Discord's song was just... Well... Awesome. His antics throughout the episode were very nice. I just don't get Discord's motivation. Was he trying to make them bond together or was he trying to get Twilight to be his friend?

 

I can't find anything that I don't like about this episode other than that the show seems to hate Spike, and that is not even a big problem for me. 

 

By the way, Cadance knows how to be a Princess, Twilight. Get some tips with her. 

 

And Flash Sentry returns. I want to know why is a normal pegasus being useless serving with the crystal ponies, instead of the "normal" ponies. I want to know more about the royal guard in general and how the Crystal Empire relates to Canterlot now.

It was wacky, it was crazy and completely off the wall. There are no words needed to describe my thoughts for this episode.

 

To quote from my tweet this morning:

 

"Whew! Crazy, wacky and competely off the wall! Another great episode is in the history books! Really enjoyed this one."

 

Despite the mix up in the episode synopsis with this one and the big one next week, this episode for me was a fun one to watch apart from my (former) hatred for Discord. 

 

If there has to be one part of the episode that the fans are talking about, it would have to be the song number with Discord. It started off slow and then suddenly picked up speed and by the half way point I couldn't keep up with the song. It was pure chaotic mayhem for two magical minutes complete with every pop culture reference that you can throw at it! 

 

The stream chats on BronyState and HaxMega plus the official Twitter hashtag exploded during the song, and I also chipped in with my thoughts at the end of the song number:

 

"To those who think John de Lancie is not well known for his singing, then those critics have been proven wrong this morning."

 

Apart from that, the episode storyline provided a change of scenery from the usual fare and seeing Princess Cadence again as well as a fan favourite character (which I won't reveal here) return from the EQG world gave the episode a little kick. 

 

Overall, this episode cannot be described in more than three words.

 

Crazy. Chaotic. Off the Wall.

I liked it. Perhaps not my favorite. There were a few things that bothered me slightly that were obvious walls to lengthen the episode, but other than that, Discord sang! Perhaps not entirely what people expected, but nevertheless, it was a good song and had the Discord attitude.

 

I think the fact he only faked it to see Twilight get no time with Cadence was...well, let me put it this way. The plot of this episode seemed to twist and turn trying to go a good direction but was straightened with something that was kind of pointless to throw into the episode. It also felt slightly rushed.

 

But I enjoyed it anyways. There's no point to really dislike it for those things. Those are common errors in a lot of TV shows that we see from time to time, so it's no biggie.

 

Good episode.

Whoa, can people shut up about Flash being in there as yet another easter egg and focus on how awesome Discord is? GAWD. It's like half the fandom never takes off their background pony goggles, it's all they can focus on, ever

 

Glad they explained how Fluttershy was taken out of the picture before the problem and its' duo antlers even arrived. I hadn't been thinking about it at the time, but Fluttershy being there would have made the plot pointless, obviously. And that Dalek reference entrance was the best thing As were the various little visual gags happening from his sneezes. From fire to gravity-losing houses, it was worth many chuckles.

 

I NEED ATTENTION, I NEED SOME CARE.

Don't you worry, Discord! I'll give you cuddles, and read you stories, and tell you all about me!

Another slice of life episode to give you some good laughs, and more shenanigans caused by Chaos Incarnate I liked it, overall. Always fantastic to see Discord again, his sneaky methods of being the center of attention and causing dilemma for everyone else was amusing, his song and shenanigans were given a fresh scent due to the new theme of him being sick which was even more nice, and I've always enjoyed seeing characters interact with characters they never have before, so seeing Cadence's reactions to Discord was equally awesome.

 

The premise was rather cool, as well. Being in the midst of a long-time-waited-for enjoyment, only to be pushed and obligated into something you really don't want to do is a really tough situation to go through, and Cadence being there makes it worse, so Twilight's lessons continue on and on.

 

Notes:

• I loved the invisible 3D effects of Cadence's Health Bubble Shield, that were made all the more apparent by how Discord continued to play around on it like a jungle gym
• TwiCord has gained a dramatic dancing scene. Prepare yourselves, an influx of TwiCord fics and artwork are coming.
• Seriously, his song itself was made priceless by the scenes going on more than the song itself XD I chuckled throughout the entire thing. The creativity, references and hilariousness was awesome. The ending, and the entire song actually, vaguely reminds me of 'Friend Like Me' from Alladin. There was a blue guy singing in that one, too xP
• Oh dear god, he made himself a giant golden air throne to mock Celestia's golden carriage XD This is the best thing.
• Oh dear god, the sequel :| Was not expecting a giant creepy flower serpent worm thing.
• Of course he was faking, Twilight :3 Come on.
• I expect fan-made metal-works of that TwiCord pendant to come out within the week
• Yay, Cadence appears in the show again, by the way.
• Fitting ending for Discord, and a decent lesson. Yay~

I know people feel betrayed after Meghan said Flash wouldn't be a S4 character but...honestly, just use your heads for a minute. Do any of you honestly think she was the one who put him into this episode? Yeah, she co-wrote the episode, but as far as she was concerned, Cadance was merely accompanied by two guards. If anyone is to blame, blame the animator who likely hadn't known about the controversy, or didn't think it was even that big a deal.

 

Besides, it's not like this was the first time this happened, either; in the very first episode, Apple Bloom was huddling in fear with Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo, even though they technically hadn't met yet. Lauren didn't intend this; she wrote that scene with two random fillies alongside Apple Bloom. Yet due to a major mixup, the scene ended up as it did. What was done was done, and the show went on like nothing happened.

 

The way I see it, the only way Flash's appearance could contradict what Meghan told us is if he's featured as a major character in a S4 episode whose role is acknowledged by the other characters, and not a mere BGP who could be easily replaced by anyone (as it stands in Equestria Girls, he straddles the line between both). So I'm not gonna bother believing Meghan's "lies", because I honestly find no lies to believe.

I really enjoyed the episode, but for fucks sakes, the wilhelm scream, AGAIN! For a snake monster! Why? Why do they keep pointlessly using that sound effect? It's gone LONG past the point where it was funny and now they're just shoehorning it in for the sake of it it seems. I almost feel like starting a petition to stop the wilhelm screams from being used in this show anymore.

I liked the Harry Potter reference, and I really liked the Discord/Twilight/Cadence dynamic. It was a good episode overall. I was especially amused when Pinkie, RD, Rarity, and AJ were all disgusted by Discord showing them his rear in a hospital gown!

That Tatzlwurm was just plain odd, looked like a cross between the Tremors worm and Audrey II from Little Shop of Horrors, also wonder what illness it gave Discord at the end there, shame Cadance's magic health bubble didn't protect Discord too.
