Yu Yu Hakusho:The Movie, it was a short 30 minute movie released based on Yu Yu Hakusho which is one of my favorite animes. The movie was not the greatest but was okay. But the English dubbed version. Funimation later released a respectable dub of it but the original dub was done by this company called Anime Works and the original English dub is so shockingly horrible that it is unwatchable. You could have taken a bunch of drunken hobo's off the street and they have sounded ten times better than the "voice actors" in this abomination. I couldn't pay attention to the plot even if I wanted to, I just sat back and both cringed and laughed my ass off at the same time.

Many English dubs of anime series (no matter how good the series itself is) are awful - or at least that's how they sound to me (someone who almost always watches subbed anime).  I'm astonished when I hear that someone actually prefers a dub voice to the original Japanese voice.

 

The English voice acting at the beginning of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is notoriously and hilariously bad.  "Die, monster!!1!  You don't belong in this world!"  The dialogue didn't help things, either. xD  (I <3 sidescrolling Castlevania, though).

 

I recall that the voice acting in the early Resident Evil games was horrible (again, it's likely a case of some amateurish, half-hearted dub work).  And not "horrible" in a way that was fitting to the survival horror genre.  Just plain bad.

 

Fairly certain that the English voices for Soul Blade were...  You know what?  Just about anytime the original Japanese voices were replaced by English speakers you seem to get lackluster or downright crappy performances lol.  Even though I can't understand what's being said in Japanese without the aid of subs, I can oftentimes hear the effort.  People getting into their respective roles and attempting to put on a compelling / enjoyable performance.  I listen to an English dub, and I hear...  Japanese people with inexplicable French and British accents?  Why!??!  Someone with an obviously Japanese name is probably not British.  I'm just putting that out there.

Since a lot of the best examples have already been said, I'll just go ahead and say Snips and Snails even though they're not the worst I've heard. I will never forgive the writers that decided to keep them as recurring characters but never use Pipsqueak again after the Halloween ep.

Honestly, when I first heard the dubbing for One Piece, that was by FAR one of the worst things my ears had heard. Now, I have got used to some characters, but still...those early episodes.

I just watched Mr. Enter's review on "Dusk's Dawn." 

HOLY CRAP DOES THE VOICE ACTING SUCK.

You can't hear the dialogue, because of the heavy accents. If you thought the accents in Deus Ex were bad, then you're wrong.

Also, when you CAN hear the dialogue, it makes no sense.

Does anyone have that clip from the Nostalgia Critic episode on "Pound Puppies and the Legend of Big Paw"? There's one scene where there are these kids who sound entirely 100% wooden and the Critic questions whether the director bought his kids into those roles.
