What is your favorite generation?

The first, I'm assuming the days of Pong?

The second, I think the days of the Atari?

The third, I'm pretty sure the days of the NES.

The fourth, the SNES, Super Famicom (might be off on that)

The fifth, my first generation. I was and still am a little behind. The days of the Nintendo 64, PS1, etc...

The sixth, my personal favorite (call me a sixth gen fan, I dare you... :P) The days of the GameCube, PS2, and original Xbox.

The seventh, our current Xbox 360s, PS3s, and Wiis.

The eighth, The new Xbox One (hm hm DVD PLAYER...), Wii U, and PS4s.

The sixth generation is my favorite as already expressed. I adored the GameCube, (nostalgia attacks beyond belief.) absolutely loved my PS2, (many favorites) and shrugged off the original Xbox. Except for Halo:CE. The Game Boy Advance I feel stepped forward.

Also, I must give credit where it is due. Because of that, seventh gen is my second. It produced games like TF2, Borderlands, and My favorite Kirby game of all time (Super Star Ultra)

Fifth gen and sixth gen are tied for me. Mainly because there were so many great PS1 and N64 games. On the other hand, the PS2 continued right on with that greatness, spawning some of my personal favorites such as Dark Chronicle and TimeSplitters (Mainly the second and third TimeSplitters games, the first one was meh)

The original Xbox still houses the fondest gaming memories I have. Mostly because of Halo.

I have them all and many more. I have 39 consoles and 1460 games. From a technical stand point the hardware usually gets better so that's not a fair comparison. I would say PS1 era was a breakthrough because that is where you had good 3d gaming. It existed in primitive forms before that but PS1 is where is was good enough to work.

The sixth is still my fave. PS2 was, is and will remain one of my favorite systems. That was when I fell in love with racing games, specifically, the Grand Turismo series.

The fourth because that's basically what my childhood composed of. Kirby Superstar, Mario RPG, Megaman X, all of these SNES games have been burned into my soul from a very young age.

I can't give a definite answer. But if you want the truth Generations 4-6. I started gaming in generation 5, but I had friends who still had SNES or Genesis games. I got into gaming with the N64 and my earliest memories involve Star Fox 64, Super Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time. I was born in 1993, so I wish I grew up to play the SNES in it's peak.

Even gen 7 had many problems. It seemed most games were rushed out of the wood works. My biggest collection is Gen 6-7. Back then my family was too poor to afford N64/PS1 games. I had to make due with what I had.

I say sixth gen for just one reason: I had the most friends to play games with (locally) at that time. As I moved into highschool and games moved into the 7th generation, I drifted apart from my old friends and online play just couldn't fill in that gap. Great multiplayer games continue to be made but they're just not as fun without a group of friends to play them with.

I would say a tie between 6th and 7th.

There the majority of my memories come from. (6th)

But the 7th also was a nice jump. (mostly hardware wise)

Though the 8th gen is only overpriced computers, I will give it a shot anyway.

(this far ps4 and xbox one have been a little dissapointing. >_>)

I loved the fifth generation of consoles with my favorites being the Playstation and the Nintendo 64. I have so many fond memories of playing on those consoles (and a lot of raging over losing was had back then too).

Fortunately, we have excellent emulators for these consoles today so I can stay in the past as long as I'd like on modern hardware :D

7th Gen. I'm not going to go with pure nostalgia for my answer. Many of my favorite games were on Gen 6 and 5, but I want really old enough to appreciate them. I feel Gen 7 is my favorite because I really didn't get seriously into gaming until 7th Gen, and I don't currently own anything you else.

The race was close between 7th Gen and 6th Gen though. Like I said, I did spend a lot of my early childhood on those consoles.

6th gen, by far. The PS2 was my first ever games console, and Gran Turismo 4 was just awesome for it's time :3

Sixth generation. Sixth generation was the only generation (so far) where I owned two different consoles (GCN and PS2), and not even because I was dissatisfied with the GCN (I most certainly was not). The PS2 pleasantly surprised me, even though I had always been a Nintendo-only person. I will certainly want a PS4 once KHIII comes out.
