I'd go with it. She's really good at it, but it can't get in the way of doing Misty and Jessey in Pokemon 'bridged

 

And why not let background ponies talk? DO you have any idea how many shows have had background characters speak? Now do you have any idea how bad those shows would've lost raitings it they didn't? Background characters add to a story, because they're more normal then the main cast, and sometimes relatable on a different scale.
