Something just occured to me about Cutie Marks...

Something occured to me just now. When Twilight goes through the mirror and turns into a human (or whatever those fluorescently-coloured people are), she has her cutie mark on her skirt. Does that mean that someone from the Equestria Girls universe can wear clothes with a symbol on them, then go through the portal to Equestria and turn into a pony, and have that clothing symbol on their flank? If so, then the CMC's quest just got a whole lot easier.

Well my question is where they buy those skirts and pants.

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it save equistria with its five candy coloured friends and shoot rainbows at bad guys using their necklaces and tiara unless you're celestia

It would've been more logical if it was a tattoo on her butt, and she came out of the mirror naked....

BUT, it's kids movie...as if.

And yeah...how do the people in canterlot high get their clothes in general?

In the movie the CMC's clothes were blank like their flanks. It is weird that they have those clothes that just so happen to have cutie marks on them. Maybe they're homemade or something.

Yo! I'm Shenron00, but you can call me “Shen” if you want!

Thanks to WheatleyCore for the sig! BTW, yes, I do realize that's Carnage and not Shenron.

That's funny, I like that.

It's a very interesting theory! ^^

We never see their uncovered flanks/hips, so I assumed the humans of this world also have their pony's cutie mark (hey, they have the same colorful skin) on their flanks/hips like the ponies do, and they just put their cutie marks on their clothing to serve as an outside representation of their talent.

The dolls have them on their faces, but that in itself is odd and going without clothes wasn't an option. You have to remember that the writers want to be very clear who's who and want to keep with established memes.

What i'm more curious about is how Cutie Marks work in the human world. That is, if they actually work at all...
That depends on whether or not they work the same way as they do in real life (get completely hammered, have a sudden realization of how much something means to you, get a tattoo of it). If it is a matter of clothes, then the CMCs need to be wary that they don't accidentally get their cutie marks in being made in Taiwan.

When you think about it, there are cutie marks in real life, they're just more complex. What you wear, how you decorate your self and surroundings, these define your interests, your passions, personality, and even to an extent, skills. Cutie marks on clothes may simply be a different version of this multi-faceted expression of self, simplified for the movie.

That was quite the mind blowing statement. And thinking about it, that does make sense...

Well, it's not only their clothes, but some of them have pins/badges instead. Since they all happen to go to the same school, maybe Principal Celestia gives all of them a logo when she decides that they've realized their destiny?

Well, since it's gonna be a thing, I assume Hasbro will have some explanation for it.

Wanna know why I'm Button Mash. Because he is literally a ponified version of me. His life, his likes, his personality, his style, everything. Honestly, when I first saw Button's Adventures I first suspected that they were stalking me ((okay, that's not entirely true. First I laughed at how much he resembled me, and then I jokingly considered the possibility to myself, only to realize it can't be true since Jan isn't anywhere close to where I live and couldn't find out this stuff about me))

All credit goes to Kyoshi and his amazing artistic skills:

I remember in a fanfic called Thirty Moons where the Equestrians and high school girls trade places.
