Anyone like to write songs?

Embarrassingly enough, yeah

Recently, I've written parody lyrics to Frozen's "Do You Want To Build A Snowman?", sung in the eyes of an insomniac. After pulling nearly two all-nighters in a row, I managed to find the tune in my head and right this :P

Every day I watch the sun rise
While the others have gone away
They're all sleeping peacefully
And then theres me
Staying up for countless days
I get really lonely
With all this time to waste
Why should I let the hours fly by?
Every day I watch the sun rise
How do I close my eyes?

(Get away from me!)
Sorry, bye...

Every day I watch the sun rise
It's been nearly a week
Since I've got any sleep
I feel so weak
Can I even get up today?
(Only just...)
I am so scared
All the shadow men
Running around the room...
(heavy breathing)

Please..
Please, somebody help me
I'm seeing things that aren't real
And voices in my head they say
If you die today, nobody will care...

I'm so exhaused
I need to get some sleep
What am I going to do?

Everyday I watch sun rise...

This...probably isn't my best work. It's the first thing I found though...(I write this stuff on the spot; please be nice!) My lyrics don't always make sense either...but I usually have a personal meaning behind them.

A black flower is dying

The wind whispers her name

No one knows her or who to blame

Ignorant souls have rendered her non-existent

In the moon I see a broken soul

In the sun I see abused control

The eclipse is coming, open your eyes

This false light can't blind you forever

As the petals fall to dust

A crow whispers in her ear

As the black wolf wails for her

No one can hear the silent screaming of her tears

In the moon I see a broken soul

In the sun I see abused control

The eclipse is coming, open your eyes

This false light can't blind you forever

We all play the victim

When we don't even know the pain

Here's a old song of mine about Rainbow Dash

Verse 1

I like to push myself to the edge

Clear the skies in ten seconds flat

Speed is the name of the game oh,

Zoomin’ high at blazin’ speeds

Nothin’ can stand in my way

I aim high, the highest high the greatest rank

The one thing that keeps me motivated is the

Great Elite The Wonderbolts!

Prelude to Chorus

I will be the

Very best that

No one ever was! Oh I will

Chorus

Soar!

(Oh I will soar!)

Take it to new heights. Oh I will

Overcome all obstacles and

Prove I am number one, Oh I will soar!

Yeah!

Verse 2

It was good, as a little filly

Summer flight camp ranked the top flyer

But rivalries, always seem to chase me down ‘cause

I was called Rainbow Crash

My rivals, cocky as the Great Trixie

Talked trash, they said that I was goin’ down

But I said “In history maybe, see you boys at the finish line!”

Prelude to Chorus

It was just an

Old mares tale but

On that day it all changed, as I

Chorus

Soared!
(Pulled off the impossible)

Pushed myself so far

I overcame all obstacles and I

(Overcame all obstacles)

Proved I could conquer it all!

Bridge

When life doesn’t go my way

I feel like giving up

But that voice inside of me says

You are the best you can win!

(Key up)

Yeah! Oh you will

Chorus

Soar!

All is possible! Oh you can

Reach and become

(Reach the stars and become)

The Best you were meant to be! Oh you will

Soar!

(On wings of pegasi and)

Take the victory! You will

(You will win!)

Win!

(Rainbow Dash to victory ‘cause)

You are the best you can be! Oh you will

Soar!

Soar!

You will

Soar, awww yeah!

I don't actually write songs, as in, I don't write music, but I do write lyrics, with a tune in my head attached to the them.

Here's a set of lyrics of mine called Sad Piano. It doesn't mean anything, it's just nonsense, but it's decently written nonsense, I think.

Father, my father

Father, my father

Do you

Do you

Father, my father

Do you

Do you

Father

One day at a music hall

A piano is crying

As a violin tore him apart

An octopus was sighing

All because the rose

Had made it into rows

And he slowly rose

Above those

The boxer was fighting

Against a piece of paper

On one big big giant wall

One whole wall of labor

An opera house was burning

But nobody got away

All except for the president

Of the USA

Oh, no, oh, no, oh, no, oh, no

How could this happen now, Eileene

I just bought a fancy ring

Made out of halloween

At the same opera house

Sad piano weeps

Weeps

Weeps

Oh no

Sad piano

Oh no

Sad piano

Oh no

Oh no

Oh no

Oh no (X3)

Row row row your boat

Across the galaxy

Oh oh oh woah oh

Life is you can't see

You can't see

Life is

You can't see

Father

Oh no

Oh no

Oh no

Sad piano

Meanwhile back in Cuba

A piano in my chest

I don't know what to say

But it's got quite a bit of zest

My my, what do we have here

Seems like quite a dream, now

Just like one I haven't seen, now

Have you figured out my scheme, now

Well, it seems it's all over

I'm glad that we had fun

No we didn't

There was no fun

It's over

I'm over

Sad piano weeps

No

I sit on a ledge

And I wonder if

It's all just a dream

If it's all just a dream

I write song lyrics, but the only way I can record the melody in my head is to just sing the song and record it, which is embarrassing for me to share, since my voice sounds really weird through a microphone.

A lot of my song lyrics (and other poems, too) are in my deviantART gallery, if anyone's interested in taking a look.

I haven't uploaded any of my MLP-related stuff yet, though.  I'm sort of working on a song about changelings.

I like to write so I probably would like to write songs since I'm obsessed with music, more specifically heavy metal. A genre where strong emotion and tension is released to give meaning to. Most songs I've listened to are mostly about life problems and struggles. I like to write about inspiration or philosophical quotes, maybe a little rap too.

I think it's awesome so many of you do this. I'd like to give it a try sometime but for now I'll simply stick to writing stories. Writing a song and coming up with the music that goes with it seems unbelievably difficult.

I am a bit of a lyricist, but I wish I knew how to write down the musical notes that go with it. I can think of these great melodies in my head from time to time, but other than humming them or something, I never know what to do with them.  :P Without the notes, your lyrics might as well just be empty words, or poetry at best.

I've written about 23 songs. Although, they're only in FL Studio on the piano role, except for two.

So really, I've written two songs on music sheets that I play on my piano every now and then.

I am rather horrible at writing melodies. But I'm pretty good at lyrics. I have quite a few songs and usually integrate them into my stories so they come right out of the dialog. I write song lyrics whenever I get bored or need to energize my story writing, since all my stories are musical comedies anyway. And nope, not gonna share them here, too much stage fright.

Yes I love writing song lyrics. I always dreamed one day I could make a song since high school and even thought of starting a band. I often started off writing poetry which sometimes ends up sounding more like a song lyrics. I’d have the melodies playing in my head while I’m writing it. But sadly I have no talent to product it. Although what I learned from “songland”, is you can’t make your lyrics too personal- otherwise the audiences won’t be be able to connect to your songs. So that’s another reason I wouldn’t bother since most of my work are very personal like a journal. It’s just me. But that dream is just some 16 year’s dream.
