Like what if for one episode spike got turned into a pony?

 

I'd like to see how he'd be treated differently if he would.

 

It's not something i need to have happen, so don't response with

"you suck and it would ruin the show!"

it's just an idea.

 

Hell it might been a better movie idea than rainbow rocks.

He doesn't want to be a pony anyway, changing him from a dragon to a pony won't change how he is treated. Spike isn't being treated badly, so there would have to be a legitimate reason on why he should be a pony.

I would love to see that. Like, Rarity realizes that she loves Spike, so she finda a spell to turn him pony, but it will only last one day, so they try to have all the memories of a relationship before time runs out.

It would make for a good episode if there was a good reason for it. I'm thinking this:

 

Spike feels like an outsider because he's the only dragon on town, so he wishes he could be a pony and fit in. Somehow or other his wish comes true. He loves being a pony at first, but then something critical happens and the only action that can save the day requires a dragon. Perhaps a very important message needs to get to the Princess right away but Spike's letter-sending flame is the only way to do it. Then they find out that the spell that changed him will become permanent if he doesn't bathe in the Enchanted McGuffin Pool or whatever within the next hour, and it becomes a race to turn him back before time runs out. At the final moment he hesitates, reflecting on how great it has been to be a pony and feel like a real member of the group, and he decides not to change back. But then he remembers that his friends are counting on him, and only as a dragon can he come through for them, so he changes back and saves the day. He learns that being different isn't necessarily a bad thing, and your true friends will accept you no matter how different you are.

If the writers want to do something like that I would welcome it and it would be a great episode no matter how it plays out, if it's written correctly that is.

 

Shipping scenario: I honestly think it would work better if Rarity turned into a baby dragon like Spike, they have a G-PG relationship (KIDS SHOW, PEOPLE!) and Rarity asks Spike whether he will love her as a pony. It'd be something different and unexpected from a Spike-pony episode. If you'd prefer the latter, just change a few details up a bit

 

Normal episode scenario: Spike is a pony thanks to one of Twi's experiments and Spike has to get used to new life while Twi finds a cure. But in the end, does Spike even want to change back?

No. I like him better as a dragon.

Edit: I personally want Spike to win. Sorry Ghostie, you can unbrohoof me or send a hateful message if you're that kind of guy. Also, I think, in that situation, Spike (as of Simple Ways) might just call off the fight and try to be friends.

Should he get turned into a pony, I foresee nothing changing except perhaps his approach to wooing Rarity. Maybe he would believe he'd have a better chance as a pony. Who knows, maybe he would. I'm sure he'd at least give it a shot.

 

 

Dragon Quest taught Spike that who he is has nothing to do with what he is or where he came from. His relationship with his friends, his interactions with ponies about town, and his overall lifestyle would remain unaltered, in my opinion.

It's certaintly an idea but I don't know where they would go with it since Spike shouldn't be treated differently just because he turned into a pony. So it'd be hard to figure out a moral, a lesson or a plot in all of this. Maybe something on the lines that Spike feels like the only way maybe to get to Rarity's heart is to become a stallion?

 

But when he realizes that he's not being his true self, to make somepony else happy, its not always worth it? But that's already been done with Rarit acting liek a country pony cause she had a crush. So dunno.

Then perhaps Twilight is testing a spell and it turns Spike into a unicorn. Twilight realizes she doesn't know how to tjrn him back and tells Spike to stay in the library while she goes to consult Zecora. Spike at first loves this, but then leaves the library to show off. He tries to impress Rarity by hosting a magic show for her. But his magic show goes array when all his spells backfire and hurt the town. Twilight comes back to find the town angry at Spike, and she turns his back to a dragon. Spike apologizes to everyone because the power went to his head. Spike realizes that he's never been happier to be a dragon and learns to be comfortable in his own skin.

 

Sort of be a mix of dragon quest/secret of my excess now that I think about it..
