Love and Tolerance does not mean letting others run over you multiple times. As shown in "Putting Your Hoof Down" Fluttershy Learns that there is a difference between being mean, and being firm. You can have someone mock you, make fun of you, put you down, hate you, ridicule you, etc, and you can turn the other cheek and get away from that person. But when that person follows you, you have to be firm and defend yourself without sacrificing kindness and compassion for that person.

I wish could give you 10 brohoofs to this. If you actually compared the morals of the show to the Jesus ChristEs teachings, you would see how similar they are. Especially the one that makes almost no sense, "Feeling Pinkie Keen". Add some Christianity to it, and BOOM, it makes perfect sense.

I'm just going to say the same thing I did in that one.

 

Love and Tolerance as become a saying with an empty meaning, when most people say that they aren't necessarily being sincere about it.

 

People have the right to like and dislike whatever they want, it just all depend on how you go about expressing you opinion on it. If you are an ass about it you're likely going to get a negative response.

 

In the case of love and tolerance:

To tolerate means to be patient with something that one does not necessarily agree with.

Love in this case doesn't mean literal love, just the face that you can respect the other persons opinion.

The original post describes an extreme. That's not expected of everyday life, which is what the phrase is to be applied to. We don't have Hitlers every Tuesday.

Honestly, the "Love" part should be dropped. You don't have to accept something, just the fact that it exists and that it has a right to.

I think the whole idea of "Love and Tolerate"

is to view things with an open heart and mind

Which means, not judging books by their cover and such

It stands for any of the basic lessons that MLP teaches
