Just found out about this.  Here's an article confirming that "The Incredibles 2" is in production:

Personally, I was wondering when they would announce a second Incredibles movie. It was most certainly popular enough, and most assuredly the demand for a new movie was clearly there. Granted, the downside to this announcement is that they also confirmed a Cars 3. Really Pixar was there that much of demand for a third Cars movie? Especially considering that the prior film was almost universally panned. Oh well, I'm still excited for The Incredibles 2.

I knew that they owed us a sequel to a movie that everyone wanted a sequel for. I'm so excited to see the sequel, now that Brad Bird is on board to directing the movie once again.

This makes me happy. I really liked the first one and knowing about a second (even though I have an irrational fear that sequels tend to be worse when compared to the first) sure is a good treat today.

Incredibles 2 - YAY!!!!!!!

Cars 3 - meh.........

 

I watched the 1st 2 Cars movies and didn't really like them much. I feel like this franchise is Pixar's weakest IP, so I don't know why they are deciding to make a 3rd movie.

 

But going back to the Incredibles 2, I absolutely loved the 1st movie. Maybe the sequel will take place a few years later when the kids are all slightly older and the entire family needs to stop an impending evil from taking over the world. That's my theory anyways  .

 

Oh btw, I hope Frozone's wife makes a cameo in this movie. I absolutely loved the dynamic between the spouses and hope that something akin to their scene in the 1st movie makes it in the sequel.

Disney's format lately is about taking the first movies "sidekick" and making them the main character, ie Monsters U and Cars 2. By this standard, I think you can guess who this movie would be about.
