Naming your child after a character on the show.

I don't want kids, so I'd obviously never do that, but I think some of the characters on the show have good names – even for a human. Especially Luna and Octavia would work well... and no one would have to know they were named after ponies, anyway. Some of the names aren't common human names at all but would still be decent choices, like Celestia. But naming a kid Fluttershy would probably be too weird.

I think the names that are actually real names - Lyra, Octavia, Luna, Cadance, Coco, etc. - are the only ones that would work.

For what its worth, I have a neighbor named Celestia...

She goes by her initials as a nickname, so when she and her husband bought land, everyone was trying to figure out who "Celestia" was in the atlas.

In my opinion, Luna seems like the best option for Gen 4 and Izzy seems like the best option for Gen 5.

Maybe full pony names like "Twilight Sparkle" or "Rainbow Dash" but names like Sunny, Hitch, Pipp, Zipp, Izzy, those... Those are just names period,

I’ve never liked this kind of thing. If you like a show, buy a t-shirt or something, don’t name your kids after it.

By the time little Pinkamena, Applebloom or Soarin grows up, nobody will know where that name is from and they’re stuck with it for rest of their lives.

I enjoy this show, the community and everything around it ... though I wouldn't do that. I would give my child a decent non pony-name and would not force things I like onto them like that

Some names are suitable for giving to your kids, first or middle, like Diane (Pinkie's middle name), Maud, Octavia, Daisy, Lily.

The rest are suited to usernames/terms of endearment, but are outlandish and/or could get you in actual trouble. Just imagine going through life and trying to be taken seriously with names like Cattail, Treehugger, Spoiled Milk, or God forbid, Big Daddy McColt.

Luna as a middle name could work… Maybe a bit too edgy? Would be a perfect name for a pet though.

And Izzy is just straight up a real name in the form of Isabelle. You could totally get away with naming your kid Isabelle and giving them the nickname Izzy.
