Big Mac reminds me of Lenny from of Mice and Men.

That sounds about right. I never made a comparison like that before, I'm glad you did.

But, Big Mac is a bit more different than Lenny because he has a lot on his mind and even though he is shy, he is a bit outspoken and a hard worker.

I don't know, I can definitely see why you'd say that but I don't think I really agree. Lennie was a handy, simple guy (was  :( ), but Big Mac seems to be a more complex character who isn't simple as Lennie is. He's even proved himself to be smarter than AJ at some points. I guess this is probably why people don't instantly link the two characters.

Yeah I mean there is definitely more than a subtle resemblance. But I don't think Big Mac is any more of a simpleton than Applejack, and definitely not to the same degree as Lenny. He's actually pretty switched on. Plus I haven't seen him accidentally kill any fillies yet!

While we're on the subject of literary analysis, what about this one:

Pinkie Pie = Mercutio? What with her repeated obliteration of the fourth wall to being an unstoppable party animal I think there's a resemblance there.

Never heard him break the forth wall. But yeah, he is crazy like Pinkie Pie with being all hyper and everything. He loves partying so there is some resemblance there.

Hmm, the only things really that they have in common is that they are big, strong, and gentle. That is pretty much all of Lennie's character. He's not even really that handy, if I remember properly. There's more to Big Mac - so much more that I don't think they can be compared that much.

Big Mac is a simple guy, but he's not a simpleton. Big difference. Big Mac is a hard worker, and he knows his trade. He isn't an illusioned dreamer, and he can be firm and stern, and aside from SmartyPants and Cheerilee, he doesn't get distracted by fuzzy things.

Big Mac isn't a simpleton, he's just very private. He has insightful things to say, but is very shy and just prefers straightforward answers.
