mega thread Do you have any headcanons/theories?

My headcanon is about Nightmare Rarity.

Even in the terms of comic canon, Nightmare Rarity never existed. It was actually Rarity's internal struggle with her Borderline Personality Disorder. Her fear of her friends abandoning her caused psychological problems which led to the events of Nightmare Rarity. Rarity was trapped in her own head. Nightmare Rarity represents her pushing her friends away when she needs them the most. So, the entire arc wasn't about how Rarity was taken by the nightmare forces. It was about how she struggles with Borderline Personality Disorder.

My other headcanon is that she has BPD. She fits the criteria. At least she fits more of the criteria than NPD (Narcissistic Personality Disorder.)

My current fun theory/Head Canon:

Pinkie Pie and Daring Do are Secret Agents of Celestia

I know it sounds far fetched, but by the time I'm done you might actually agree with me :3

Daring Do is a bit easier to prove actually. Celestia had broke up a Cell of agents that were tracking down escapees from equestria. One of them that we know of went to ponyville under the alias "Bon Bon", while another one went on the hunt for another escapee by the name of Ahuizotl. It can be assumed that "Daring Do" assumed a layered alias. First Tier of the alias was of A.K Yearling, an author of the "Daring Do" series. In it are her detailed reports of her going after a dangerous escapee of Tartarus and framed it as if it were fiction. It could probably be assumed that she left encrypted messages in these books that only someone like Celestia could decipher. Also it should be noted that one of her possessions, a Book, had a very peculiar seal on it

sig-4376808.large.png

please note that that briefcase at the bottom was owned by none other than Secret agent Sweetie drops. "Daring Do" is probably another alias entirely. Assuming someone sought out A.K Yearling and found out "Daring Do" was real, they would most likely not dig much farther than that. However given that we know that Celestia had a team of agents dealing with mid level threats LIKE ahuizotl and this interesting bit of evidence, its enough for a fun fanfic to say the least.

Now what about Pinkie Pie? Well part of the evidence I was going to show was involving a MMMystery at the friendship express, but it turned out that the picture was edited :/. Not to worry though, there is still plenty more.

point number one: Dash was Looking for a Spy in the first episode and she didn't know Pinkie that well yet. Quick Question: Why would Dash be looking for a spy? What would cause her to ask that? Where would she get that idea? Perhaps she had caught on that there WAS a spy in ponyville (after all, Bon Bon IS there) so probing the new mare in town isn't the worst idea following that logic. However what if the spy in question was hiding in plain sight?

point number two: Pinkie Pies Na na told her about the Mirror pool. The Interesting thing about this is that the book pertaining that information happens to of been hidden in a secret compartment in Twilight's late tree house library. Guess what mark was on that?

sig-4376808.Secret%20compartment_zpswson

Sure, you could say "Dude, its a horseshoe, they are horses, chill tf out" but this is the THIRD occurrence in the same post where this symbol has shown up, one of which is confirmed to be owned by a Spy, and another one owned by a secretive pony with at least ONE alias, and theoretically TWO. Why would this book pertaining to very specific knowledge be in Twilights tree house and happen to be found right at the time she needed it? What if I told you that Pinkie's Na Na was IN that Tree house Library at one point and made that Compartment specifically for that book....ON CELESTIA's REQUEST  :sunbutt:

point number 3: Pinkie has the Skills and the know how to be a spy. She can create near flawless disguises

sig-4376808.uBNEx.jpg

She knows the true silliness of the spy costume you see in the movies

She can whip up devices like Helicopters out of nowhere

sig-4376808.full.gif

She knows how to get from point a to point b without even being seen

sig-4376808.spy_pie_hangin___by_m99moron

She has ample abilities to use for spying like being able to control her own reflection independent of where she is.

And probably the most compelling evidence of all. She has at least one place where she stores sensitive information on every pony she knows. This one seems on the surface to be just for her parties, but considering no one knew it was even there, it wouldn't be that big of a stretch to assume that she has more than one in strategic places in Equestria

sig-4376808.0f728c9e0f61b6d672058c60da97

Lemme just say that if they ever did the reveal that Pinkie was a secret Agent People would have their minds blown ( or they'd laugh lol) . It would also mean that Celestia had at least two agents in the same place as she sent Twilight to live....Interesting :3

"If the Empire is filled with hope and love, those things are reflected across all of Equestria.

If hatred and fear take hold..."

Celestia made this statement wayyyy back in the Season 3 premiere. And in my view, The Cutie Remark recently confirmed it.

In the Sombra timeline, Equestria is shown in shambles. Yet the Crystal Empire is nowhere near as large and menacing. How could it sustain a war for several years (Applejack's comments confirm this)?

My theory goes: when the Crystal Empire turned evil, its state was magically reflected across Equestria, like Celestia says. The war-torn landscape wasn't just caused by the literal war, but also a malign force that exacerbated the damage due to the Crystal Empire's corruption.

Two other headcanon I have are 1. that the Dazzlings turned into dust after the battle of the bands and 2. that they are all related to each other but not all are sisters (Adagio and Sonata are half sisters and Aria is their cousin).

I have this theory that Twilight Sparkle, Trixie and Sunset Shimmer are sisters, since all three of them are powerful unicorns (with Twilight now an alicorn). They just don't know that they're sisters. Maybe sometime in the future they will realise it.  :ooh:

Given how the Crystal Heart's effects were seen as far away as Canterlot, ^that's actually more than just a theory, IMO.

That, and Sombra was always something of a Domain Holder / Fisher King anyway.

Well, then maybe we're siblings 'cause we both like MLP!

Yeah, that's not how it works. They can be powerful without being related. You know that, right?

Shoosh.

Meaning, if he hadn't kicked the bucket two millenia ago, he would either be an alicorn (meaning he has no reason to be jealous of Sunset Shimmer), or have discovered how to make one immortal with magic.

According to The Journal Of The Two Sisters, he accidentally discovered age-changing magic while attempting to time-travel, so the "make one immortal with magic" part is more or less official.

I remember reading that without computers, the income tax withholding system would be too complex for humans to use, even if every person on Earth worked on it full time. Ponies don't appear to have computers, therefore they can't have income tax withholding (lucky them)

So, where does the government get its money?  Historically, in the USA it was an excise tax (tax on alcohol) that provided the bulk of the money + tariffs.  In EQ, pegasi are probably born smugglers.  They take the attitude "borders are for ground pounders & custom inspections are things that happen to other ponies".  In the words of an old song "I'm as free as a bird & this bird you'll never tame"

Governments also used to get their money from monopolies.  Salt, railroads, & some spices were common monopolies.  Also a monopoly on mines, or at least the government got a cut of all produced.  A "sin tax" on gambling was common.

Local governments (in the USA at least) depend on property taxes.  So much per acre (or per tree for orchards) & probably license fees for market stalls.

Well I created one just for my MLP/Planet of the Apes crossover postulating that the Land of Equestria exists at the center of the Hollow Earth.  At the very center is a dwarf singularity that is orbited by an inner Earth Sun and Moon.  This singularity acts as a portal to other dimensions and accounts for all the weird magic & shit that goes on down there..

Okay here's one. Starlight Glimmer is a time displaced Flurry Hearts.  The reason she doesn't have her wings is because as a child, Flurry Hearts had her magical energy drained to keep her power level in check and who drained her you ask? Starlight Glimmer, who now gets her power back.  And that gap in Flurry Hearts power explains how she was able to take Cutie Marks, the gap wanted to fill itself with more magic and Starlight was able to manipulate it so as to take Cutie Marks. Also would explain how Starlight is so powerful that she can match Alicorn Twilight in battle.

Another headcanon. Starlight Glimmer and Sunburst are Starswirl the Bearded parents.  Starlight has time travel experience and Sunburst is sporting facial hair and is dressed up as a wizard, so the two of them get together, have the child and he's displaced throughout time in order to fulfill the predestination paradox.

Here are some of mine:

> Chrysalis was once the ruler of the equines, but after the griffins war she created the two astral alicorns to replace her.

> Twilight is using the rest of the mane six to enhance her powers through their magic and crystal elements, hers is the one who links the others to her.

> Starswirl is dead.

> The sisters aren't immortal, unlike their mother and Discord.

> Artificial alicorns doesn't live longer than regular ponies, they just have stronger magic.

> Batponies were pegasi who were banned on the moon that Nightmare Moon reformed.

That's some, if you want to know more, just ask.

No. Just... Ugh, why doesn't this site have a facehoof emoticon? I guess I'll have to make do.

Despite what she's claimed, Starlight Glimmer has not truly accepted responsibility for her actions. Deep down, she still resents Sunburst for abandoning her and "forcing" her into villainy and still resents Twilight and her friends from interfering with her attempts to achieve true happiness and "forcing" her to nearly destroy time and space itself. She continues to view herself as a victim and therefore not fully responsible for her actions.

The Royal Sister's ties to the Dragon Kingdom ended in dispute/hate when Luna becoming NMM. She betrayed the Dragons by threatening them with eternal night, as the Dragons needed the power of the sun to preserve their way of life. The dragons later didn't forgave the equines and the stories are passed down from generations until Spike redeem the equines.

The land and the king are one! This is why things were relatively peaceful for 1000 years under Celestia's rule.  Now that Luna has returned, her unresolved issues are why everything is so turbulent.  Until the Princess is at peace with herself, the land can not be at peace with itself.

Here's my new head canon about Tirek.  He has more of a tragic backstory.

Long ago when Tirek was just a baby, his father use to rule over a majestic land of Centaurs that was as beautiful as Modern Equestria.  Vast meadows, blue sky, clean water.  Growing up, Tirek would enjoy roaming these lands.

But one day, a mysterious curse was placed on the lands, turning the sky pitch red, killing off the vegetation and draining the land of its water, turning the Centaur lands into the Badlands we know today.  Tirek's Father King Vorak was helpless to watch his lands become barren.

As a result, Tirek and even his younger brother Scorpan turned to Sendak the Elder for advise, and that was where Tirek would discover his hidden power: The ability to absorb magic.  He would later betray his own father and ascend the throne.  But in a shocking twist, Sendak's final order was to defeat him.  Tirek reluctantly fought and defeated Sendak as he still had respect for the magus.

Despite his victory in claiming the land for himself, Tirek still felt empty as he now ruled a barren wasteland.  It was said that he and Scorpan hid inside a cave when the dust storms shattered his castle.

Much later on, Tirek sent his brother out to search for a new land.  But during this time, Tirek was going mad.  He believed that his curse was brought to him by outside forces and vowed to conquer them by any means necessary.  When Scorpan returned and reported about the land of Equestria, Tirek wanted to conquer this land and enslave every pony as an act of revenge for what happened to his homeland.  Saddened by his brother's loss of sanity, Scorpan had no choice but to convince Princess Celestia and Princess Luna to stop his brother before hiding away in the Badlands.  The end result was that Tirek was locked away in Tatarus.

What do you all think of my idea of Tirek's more tragic backstory?

I've always had this theory that ponies only get their cute marks when helping someone in need. I know it sounds rather cliche but my theory can be used to explain many of the controversies about cutie marks people have been having lately, For example, the reason Sunburst got his cutie mark before Starlight did is that he helped her when she was in need and then leaves her, prompting her to want to find a solution to help her in her lonely life- and the lives of others as well, which is where Starlight gets her cutie mark; helping others in her situation.

Another controversy going around is about the Cutie Mark Crusader's new cutie marks. Some people were upset that they got their cutie marks for helping Diamond Tiara and not getting them for their individual talents (Singing, Scootering, and Carpentry). The truth is, they've spent almost their whole lives helping other ponies (and each other). Why do you think they tried to help Pipsqueak or Troubleshoes? Because it's their secret talent.

This theory can also be used for all of the Mane 6 (except for Twilight Sparkle). Just think about it....

Rainbow Dash- Got her cutie mark for defending Fluttershy.

Pinkie Pie- Got her cutie mark for helping her family smile.

Fluttershy- Got her cutie mark for comforting the scared animals.

Rarity- Got her cutie mark for helping with the costumes in the school play

Applejack- Got her cutie mark for helping with the work on the farm.

Twilight Sparkle - I don't know.
