Do you have friends that remind you of any of the Mane 6?

This is from before I knew about MLP.

 

I have a friend I used to work with about 2-3 years ago. He's also a couple years younger than me.

 

When I first saw the show around Jan '14, Pinkie Pie out of all the characters reminded me of him. He always seems to have a "too positive" mentality and a lot of energy. I think a "very lively person" is a good description. He's definitely a very nice and very humble. He's definitely not spoiled or rich and does a lot of volunteer work. I've never heard him speak badly of anyone either. He's not stupid / just a goof-off either.

 

When I first met him I was like "What's this guy's issue?"- kind of like like Twilight when she first "encountered" Pinkie. I didn't think anything bad of him, I just wondered why the heck he seemed so over-the-top. He was also a good worker. He's not someone who just stands around/just goofs off all day.

 

The sad thing is his personality was misinterpreted as someone who just goofs off all day by some of the owners and he suffered because of this.

 

The funny thing is that one of these owners (with whom I unfortunately directly work with) more than occasionally will drink a WHOLE 2 liter of Coca-Cola and eat Snickers bars SIMULTANEOUSLY and turn into a disruptive tornado of hyped-up uslenessness- But that's a separate issue. Let's just say if I wasn't as calm and patient a person AND he wasn't an OWNER, I would no longer be employed there for one reason or another.

 

Over the course of about two years of not so good treatment- which I was unaware of for the most part since I didn't work with him all that much, he was seriously getting his spirit beat down and crushed. One time he told me that he absolutely hated it there and that he would cry when he got home sometimes.

 

I didn't know it was that bad for him and it's more sad because he wasn't doing anything wrong besides being "too happy" of a person- which is just so horrible of a thing. :okiedokielokie: I train people there and am pretty good at figuring out who the problem people will be and he definitely wasn't one of them. Also from just talking with other co-workers, no one ever complained about him like they do about other lazy/rude ones.

 

Anyways- not long after that he quit and ended up working for the city and at a restaurant and was happier for it. I still hang out with him occasionally but just find the whole situation sad, unnecessary, and unfortunate.

 

 

So do any of you guys know anyone who really reminds you of one of the characters from the show?

My best friend reminds me of Rainbow Dash and Twilight. Very loyal and competitive, smart, and knows how to handle any problem that comes his way.

Aside from my online friends here (I see a mix of Applejack and Fluttershy in @Sugar Cube, a bit of RD and a lot of Fluttershy in @Champion RD92, etc. ), I don't think I have too many real-life friends who display any of the major personality types portrayed by the Mane 6. Actually, a majority of them are studly womanizers...I'd be hard-pressed to compare that type of person to anypony in the show, really.

 

I suppose my best friend, Slip, comes close-ish to Rainbow Dash: Athletic, very headstrong, cocky (bordering on a mild but forgivable narcissism), is a beast on guitar, etc.Can't say he'd be caught dead sporting rainbow hair, though...unless it's one of those hilarious rainbow afro wigs.

 

One of my other best friends compares somewhat to Twilight, I guess, being  bookish to the point of boring us all to sleep with his near constant talk of WWII st...zzzzzzz... -_-

I didn't mention in the OP that it's funny how much he is actually like Pinkie Pie minus the crazy part of her personality. He also plays piano very well (stuff like the organ music Pinkie was playing in Castle Mania). I've never met anyone else like him. I have another friend who has ADHD and that is definitely different.

Well, once I started watching MLP, I immediately realized my circle of friends could all be assigned personalities from the mane six.  .It's eerie, we've got the shy one(myself), the athlete, the fashionista, the wacko, the hard-worker, and the nerd. Strange.

I have this friend. She is insane. Yesterday at lunch she litterally put me in a headlock. I think she would be pinkie because she is funny, nice, and can somehow break the laws of physics. Well, she would be pinkie with an overdose of the crazy...

One of my good friends Rebecca, she reminds me very much like Rarity and Twilight. She is very smart like Twil and artistic like Rarity and if she was a pony she would even suit as a unicorn. (unfortunately we don't see each other very much )

One reminds me of Applejack, stubborn and honest and logical. And blondish. 

One reminds me of Pinkie, with bounciness and talkativeness and a voice to match (no exaggeration). 

One reminded me of Fluttershy. She was so quiet, except when she was angry. 

And while not technically part of the Mane Six, one reminds me of Spike.
